Dear Final Fantasy fans,

after years and years, I still have with me Final Fantasy VII, my first PSX game. When I moved in Venice from Milan, I bring that game with me, hoping I could play it with an emulator installed on my Mac, in this case I use PCSX.

Well... it works. But... when a battle begins, the game become slow.. there is something I can do? Is it due to the plug-in?

If I made a mistake writing here this kind of discussion, please forgive me. I'm italian and my english is so poor. Moreover, I'm new and I really don't know how to use this forum yet.

I thank you for your time,

Ste

you shouldnt use an emulator.. just download the game for the PC and use a patch. That should work better

Picking the right plugins can help you emulate better, but I don't know which ones to recommend. How old is your mac, like what's its specs?

I've not a PC. I use Mac OS X Tiger on iBook G4 (PowerPC). This means I can't install Windows on my Mac (and I won't). The only thing to do is to install a plug-in I think... But don't know which one.

Mac OS X 10.4.11
Power PC G4
512Mb Ram
1,42 Ghz

Even though installing/configuring the FF7 game on PC, especially on a newer version can be frustrating. I use Ultimate Vista 64 bit and it took me a while to get FF7 to work. You just need the right codec to match the XP patches, etc. I'd recommend emulating FF7 because it is less frustrating and works great. Actually, the FF7 PC game might worth it because there are lot of mods that can add more fun stuff to the game, although those mods won't work with the emulator.

Go eBay it :/ it's incredibly cheap but the download is always available (I'm not going into more details :P, spend your time and search for it). But I don't know why would you want to emu PS7 when you already have FF7 for PC? That PC version is better.
