View Full Version : Do you follow through on your thread responses?

Lately I find myself starting to type replies to threads/posts and half way through I say to myself, "I guess I really don't care about this" and I close the thread and move on. Do you ever start to reply or respond to a thread/post and in the middle decide it's not worth it or that you don't care and move on?

Yes. Mostly it happens when something makes me mad and I go to reply, and then I'm like "Wait, why am I angry about this? If I reply like this, I'll look like a big asshole" and I stop. xD

Oh yeah, I do that all the time. Hell, I almost did it with this post just to be funny, but then I realized no one would realize what I did.

I've been doing it for years now, especially if I catch myself getting wordy about stuff people won't care about.

I post once and never check again.

Except where dumbassery is involved.

I don't like people who say ridiculous things about dogs or other animals; sometimes I type mean posts that I don't submit because of them.

I do it a lot actually. My post have declined lately cause I just don't care enough anymore... yet I still read it.

Usually if that happens i realise what a dumb post it was 5 seconds after posting it and go back to delete it before anyone sees

I do it a lot. I write this long post, and then I'm like "Meh, I'm bored of this now" and just leave it.

Jess

I did that just before. I'll probably reply to the thread later, but I get halfway through and am too lazy to carry on. :jess:

Usually it's something like this or something that'll make me look spacier than usual :exdee:

No. I'm not that quirky of a person.

I do that in a lot of EoEO threads where I think what I have to say won't add much to the topic. I wish some others would follow suit.

Heath

I've done the same thing as Yams in relation to EoEO threads but if I'm one of the first contributors to a thread I'll usually be willing to post if I feel it's relevant enough; even if it'll add only a little to the topic or it'll encourage others to post.

In other threads, I almost always post what I begin to type. I'm one of those people, particularly with small tasks lie this, that wants to see something through to the end if I start it. Back when I had dial-up I did, sometimes, start writing something in notepad instead so I could post it next time I was online. I've gotten into the habit of doing that with some threads if I can't be bothered to finish the post there and then.

I abort responses all the time. Of the responses I start typing, I probably discard more than I actually post. Most of the time it's because I don't actually have anything to say, but sometimes I just can't put something into words and give up.

This wasn't one of those times. :greenie:

I try to, a lot of the time. Unless the thread is full of people, and it's hard to reply to every single person individually. D=

Yeah. Ever wonder why my post count is so low for someone who's on every day for the past (almost) 3 years? If I don't care, I often skip the thread.

NeoTifa

no, im like obsessed with post counts. but i realize, you guys dont care about that here. all my old ones have a ranking system on post count. old habits die hard
