So, let's say that you had built up your nick around the internet places, you got some hits on google, etc etc etc.

Then you get drunk and post a video on youtube, and some how, the next morning, your friends are shaking you by the arm saying 'hey hey come look at this! it's YOU', and you are instantly thrust into your 15 minutes of fame without anyone asking you about it.

Would this freak you out, or would you take in stride?

Well that really depends on the content of that video now dosent it...

It would certainly damage my aspirations for some sort of public or prestigious private office.

if the content was of decent quality, I would take it in stride and take pride (a la Tay Zonday, though I'd hope to not sell out as much)

I was on the front page of ebaum's world once, a couple years back, also on college humour and other such places.

Thinking in our mexican equivalent (Edgar's Fall) I think I would take in stride, maybe, that child even appeared in the news during six months :rolleyes2.

No. I would want to take advantage of a hypothetical fifteen minutes of fame. It depends on how popular the video is, though, but I would think that the video gained popularity quickly if friends are finding it all of the sudden!

If it was something like that, I'd probably kill myself.

Brilliant. I'd milk it for every cent, and wite a self-help book on how to have enough self-respect to be able to do such a thing.

wait wait wait

Where are these videos of Rubah? I wanna see

I'm a complete and utter lunatic when it comes to exhibitionism, so this would be a very good test of my ability to cope with it.

I think my only complaint about videos being posted on youtube is that people with no idea of context (or care of context) will say mean things about me, so it's also a test of my resolve and my ability to have self-sustaining existential meaning in my life. Hah.

I don't really care. It'd be cool, but it would have to be a good quality video.
Anything less is, uncivilized.

I honestly don't give a damn about what people think about me on the Net, especially when based on some silly video that might end up online. Not that it would anyways, because I keep my privacy intact online, and I don't drink.

I would walk up to everyone copying whatever the hell I did and show those nerds how it's really done.
