Ok so this thread is a poll. The question is who you think the best girl rocker is.

Discuss!! :) Personally, I choose Amy Lee. It was a hard choice between her and Lacey, though. I think they are tied, but I have liked Evanescence for a longer time, so they win! :)

Anyway, out of those you listed I'd say Amy Lee. But overall, there are many great ladies of rock. Some examples are: Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Tina Turner and Janis Joplin.

See I'd vote on this (aside from only knowing Evanescence and Paramore in this I have other reasons to abstain) but you forgot some fantastic female names in rock such as;

Cristina Scabbia - Lacuna Coil

Brody Dalle - Distillers

Kittie (all female band)

Courtney Love (love her or hate her she's still successful)

The Sahara Hotnights (I'll just list the entire band here since they're all female)

So many others out there this is just the ones I remember of the top of my head here.

Debby Harry really is a girl rocker in a league of her own, BUT from what youve put I'm guessing you are hinting at current mainstream girl rockers, which I guess is a very limited pool.
I however must choose Skin from Skunk Anansie because I think she rocks the cheese.

There's Candace Kucsulain from the thrash/metalcore band Walls Of Jericho. Not my favourite band, but certainly worth noting. She has quite a range considering her band's lack of same, and without her they'd be just another mediocre breakdown-fest of a band.

Feist is definitely a rocker. Remember she was in Broken Social Scene the indie rock supergroup before she started her solo career. Her solo career also has various rock elements. She rocks it hard in the song "Sea Lion" of the 2007 album, The Reminder.

No chicks have rocked as hard as these three have. Carrie Brownstein's roaring guitar, Janet Weiss' thundering drums, and Corin Tuckers' unbelievable wail (one of the best in all of rock music) together are rock perfection. There are very few groups that can match the raw ferocity of songs like "Entertain", "One Beat", or "The Fox".

Forget greatest female band ever, Sleater-Kinney is one of the greatest bands period.

Honorable mentions go to Karen O, PJ Harvey, and Brody Dalle.

I love the way Lacey sings. She doesn't sing "I'm alive" She sings "I'm a liyive" HEr vice is so strange and entticing

Paramore rocks. No question about it. They are my favorite band at the moment. Hayley's hair is ust fckn smexy to the max.

Evanescence. My first musical love. Her voice is so powerful an she has such a huge range.

I choose Hayley just because she wears skinny jeans and her har is total win. Lacey's hair is the best for headbanging though.

I never said she doesn't have some talent. I'm just saying in comparison to her contemporaries, she's just mediocre.

She basically is a watered down version of Siouxsie Sioux's style mixed with Beth Gibbons' or as I already mentioned Sarah Brightman's vocals. It's fine if you like her, but personally I think she's just the product of being a facsimile of already famous vocalists. I just don't really see Amy Lee bringing anything new to the table (the fact she sings in a very cookie cutter nu-metal band doesn't really help).

Quoted for truth. I've seen Arch Enemy four times now, she's beena beast each and every time. Cristina Scabbia is also amazing, though I've only seen Lacuna Coil three times at this point. The chick from Damone deserves a mention too, they're poppy enough to end up mainstream, and I like her voice.

Out of the choices though, Hailey Williams. She has a nice voice, and I'd give years of my life for a night with her.
