The first is our tree, the epitome of 80s/early 90s tree decorations.

The second is my uncle's family's tree, a more themed/uniform looking tree. Both have their advantages; ours is full of memories, and theirs is very pretty and shiny.

Our tree features family year ornaments (although we seem to have stopped buying those about 1986 xD), baby's first christmas ornaments (1977, 1980, 1988), ancient garlands, little glass balls we've had forever. in fact the most recent ornaments are probably still six years old, bought from a 6th grade band fundraiser!

My uncle's tree also has memories because it also looks pretty similar year after year, so i always associate it with their christmas eve parties they have thrown for 15 years now. (They threw their first one when they moved into my family's old trailer, I was 4 then!) There's a big disconnect between the christmas eves at the trailer, when I was little, and the christmas eves now in their current house, as more of an adult. In fact, I noticed today how one of the little kids that are my aunt's siblings kids are started to reach adolescence, the oldest had long hair and an mp3 player and surly looks xD

Those parties have been the best fun and the most distressing for me; it was difficult to adjust to growing up and how it affected the presents I recieved. I remember the first year I didn't get one of those holiday bears, with the year emblazoned on their paws. I was heartbroken! my place as the cute little girl had been usurped by the others :O

I had a pretty good time at tonight's though; my presents have finally dwindled down to just cash, and while not having an actual present to tear open was kinda disappointing, I took some pleasure in watching my uncle open the tie I got him (he's a big fan of my uni so I got him a razorback themed tie before I came home xD) He hung it on his shirt right after tooxD

Anyways, I guess this is to share some of the things your family does or has done, or maybe just record some christmas songs or show pictures of your trees. Just whatever.

I've got no images of our tree yet but pictures of my family? Sure. I wasn't in it because I was taking the picture. We don't do much for Christmas, maybe visit graves and call up spirits to talk with about other worldly things.

Our tree is something thats alive, a foul spirited possessed it and we didn't mind it so it stuck around and we put up the tree, it scares guests whenever they come round because it likes to play jokes on them.

Thats all to tell really, pretty normal. =3

Thanks for sharing that with us Rubah. :)

I got to see my brother again this Christmas. We haven't seen each other for months - he works in Donegal, and I go to college in Dublin. Not much of a distance; we just haven't had the time, really. It was nice to see him again.

He left again today. Hopefully he'll be back in early January...
