Eyeson F.C.

Welcome to Eyeson Football Club, the (currently) League Two side made up of EoFF's members and run using Football Manager 2008. Well, mostly. Anyway. To save on an in-depth introduction, I'm going to get straight into things. Maybe someday I'll write up a proper introduction for this thread, but needless to say this is the thread in which I will be posting all the going-ons. I'm sure it will be extremely painful to get all these images put up, but eh, it should keep me busy at least until I get sick of it.

Again: Welcome to Eyeson F.C.

First day of the job! After having a quick look at the squad, I've checked my inbox and found a few messages.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-message-from-cid.jpg

A nice little message, there. He's attached a link to the board confidence witih relation to myself, so let's have a look at that, too...

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-competitions-confidence.jpg

Sounds reasonable, at least so far. I'll have to have a look at how things go over the next season before I really have any idea if that actually is the case, though. I understand we've been (somehow) entered into League Two in place of a team which was promoted but then got stabbed (yes, as a group). So really, we're probably not going to do too well in our first season and it's possible we'll get relagated. I'll, er, keep that to myself though. No need to spread pessimism just yet.

Onto the next message.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-roogle-report.jpg

I'll keep all of that in mind. Roogle also has attached something... a basic report of sorts.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-lineup-suggestion.jpg

Well, that's a nice report from Roog, but I've noticed that Psy is missing from his suggested lineup. I quickly have a look at this Saunders chap in comparison to him because I was told before recruiting this group that he'd be one of the better players.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-psychotic-vs-saunders.jpg

Hmm, I'll stick with Psy for now. We can work on his mental skills, but personally I find his physical skills to be superior as a whole. We'll have to see how things go.

Finally, there's also a report on Heath attached.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-heath-report.jpg

Excellent!

Now, let's check out our final message.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-expectations.jpg

A quick check on those numbers and I realise that I'm already over budget on my salaries. Uh oh. Time for me to have a look at where my wage allowance is being spent...

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-contracts.jpg
I figure I'll also check out the Failridden while I'm at it, to see if there's some talent I can boot out from there.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-failridden.jpg

I'll have to think this over a bit and check out my options in the transfer market, methinks. If Kishi is good enough at his scouting, maybe he can find me someone with better skills and a lower wage demand than some of the players we have here. Still, lots of time yet, let's not rush ourselves. I'll send him on a mission throughout the UK & Ireland to look for quality players at less then £500 p/w. Hopefully it won't take too long...

£8.5k wage budget is terrible. You should be able to renegotiate some players' contracts to cut the current bill down a bit, though. Most players at that level will accept a £50/75 p/w cut from their wage demands, which isn't much individually but soon adds up across a squad of twenty or more players.

Good call starting Psy, by the way. Pace is incredibly important in the lower levels, and a speedy player, especially one with a good dribbling stat can be very effective. Plus, like you say, mental stats are easier to develop than physical, so while this Saunders guy will probably never get any faster, Paul can easily improve the mental side of his game.

EDIT: Nice photo. I can imagine the half time bollockings already. xD

EDIT 2: Just realised the Under 18's should have been called The Newbies. Is it too late for that now? :(

EDIT 2: Just realised the Under 18's should have been called The Newbies. Is it too late for that now? :(
Sadly, it won't let you rename the youth team. I had the same idea.

Fixtures ahoy! It seems nobody of a higher level than ourselves wants to play a friendly against us, which is a slight concern for me as I want the club to be financially successful. Oh well. Six friendlies to find out about the squad!

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-fixtures.jpg

And let's get prepared for a York game. Sorry, Spurt, but I have bad news for you - this injury is going to keep you out for 4-5 months. :( We will certainly miss you! Damaged knee cartilage is a bitch.

What do you mean, nobody of a higher level? The mighty Havant & Waterlooville have agreed to grace us with their presence!

Will you be making any new signings before the season starts, BoB? Particularly loan signings? It would break up the first team of EoFFers, of course, but it'd give us a much greater chance of success. A painful dilemma...

EDIT: Speaking of pain, poor Splurt. Good thing we've got cover in midfield. :(

Our tactics are going to be fairly simple in this early stage of the game.

It's possible that I will indeed sign up some new players but at the moment I'm concentrating on our existing team. Finding out who will take a cut in wages will also be intersting, I'll start on that (along with training changes) the day after the game.

Key Man (Eyeson): Heath
Key Man (York): Manny Panther. With a name like that, you've got a lot to live up to.

We're even odds for this match so let's get a win in our first game, please!

Loony BoB
02-15-2008, 11:15 PM
Not so awesome right now. Our defenders moved pretty high up and Manus never stood a chance when their pacey striker was fed a recently-stolen ball and moved up front to go one on one with smitten, lobbing the ball over the reach of the advancing keeper and scoring a goal to lead 0-1 at half time. I'll be doing a fair few subs now.

Only real good chance of the match is when blim, Jess and Eyeson temporary captain Edge got a few good one-two passes together and ended up spoiling a chance right in front of goal.

Fulltime. In truth, we dominated the second half but never made enough of our many, many chances. 75% of the possession I estimate belonged to us at that point, too. Still, first game so we shouldn't make the world of it.

Heath

Poor Burtsplurt =(

Still, it's early days yet. I imagine we're the sort of team that only gets into gear for the big games against the big clubs. Havant and Waterlooville, for instance.

Still, I can't complain with being a half decent central defender!

Edit: Also: Hurrah for York's other friendly being against Colwyn Bay, my local team! And it's looking like York'll be my local team while I'm at Uni. Don't worry though, they'll pay for what they've done to my morale!

Errr, when did i become Irish? I'm sure i would have noticed.
Due to the problems with transfers, the only way we found we could go ahead with things is if we didn't bother to have the players being totally accurate but instead nicknamed existing characters. So in this game, at least for now, you wear green and enjoy your Guiness.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-york-game-review.jpg

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/starting-york-game-fans.jpg

So was I, Luke. I wonder if he's related to our Saunders?

Alright! Training. I've put together similar training sessions to those I used quite successfully in the Scottish League in my stint with Albion Rovers. Here's what you'll all be dealing with...

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/training-defence.jpghttp://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/training-midfield.jpg
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/training-attacking-midfield.jpghttp://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/training-attack.jpg

On a rather positive note, somehow after saving and reloading, my overspending on wages has turned into £23 of underspending. So there's officially no need for me to bother too much with transfers... but we'll see.

On towards the next game! Kishi's been checking out the players at Southport and I've just got a message.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-southport.jpg

Loony BoB
02-16-2008, 09:37 AM
Don't worry yet, Splurt. We'll see how you improve - Braska Spira may be a DM but he's a pretty poor one by comparison. You're also my preferred option for vice captain as you have a lot of influence and determination (although Edge eases into captaincy). So it's not all over yet. I'm also looking into a few other midfielders which means you might be able to slide your name from one to another.

I'm going to continue with the same lineup as the last game to see whether or not that was a one-off.

EDIT: Just one minute in and -- Cz! What were you thinking!? I'd love crosses like that if they weren't well in front of our own goalkeeper and directly in front of the opposition forward. 0-1. Terrible.
EDIT: 4" in and we're already 1-1! Fantastic showing by Dan, he got a pass fed through to him while lying deep in the midfield, moved straight into two defenders, controlled the ball well and got past the both of them, shot into the opposite corner from the right side of the penalty box and it's a wonderful goal. :)
EDIT: 11th minute, and what was all that about a congested midfield? A pass from the defence goes right down the middle, one side of the pitch to the other, slicing through the whole midfield and lands at Dan's feet and he's already past the last defender at this point. One on one with the goalkeeper, who gets a hand to the shot and the ball settles right in front of the middle of goal, about two feet in front. Dan's momentum means he's there first. You can't miss from there! 2-1.
EDIT: 13:52, HATTRICK FOR DK!!! Psychotic picked up a poor pass from Southport on the wing while marking Southport's better player and he's passed him, fed in a lovely cross, and Jess simply taps the ball back into the line of Dan's feet. Past the goalkeeper, into the far corner, 3-1. Dan's looking to put this game ot bed early.
EDIT: 22 minutes in, oh my, you just can't stop him! 4-1!!! Edge feeds the ball and once again Dan's just in front of the keeper.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-southport-dk-on-goal.jpg
...a common sight in this game.
EDIT: Edge got a long shot narrowly off target, Jess found herself with the ball at her feet right in front of goal - but the keeper was too close to her. Dan gets a shot on goal tipped over the top, corner kick.
EDIT: Half time and Leopold is on for Cz, while Heath and Jess make way for Levian and Harvest respectively. Dan's got a 10 rating by the fans and he isn't even tired! I'll leave him on for now.
EDIT: 63 in now, and it's still 4-1. Dan almost set up Harvest but the lad was surrounded by defenders and they muscled in and got the ball before Harvest had a touch. Quickly the ball went to the other end, a one-on-one situation with the keeper and luckily the ball went into the stands. Time for the rest of the team to get subbed, as I hope to get everyone match fit and avoid any injuries coming to the star players. Big applause for Dan, well earned, that.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-southport-62.jpg
EDIT: 68:30 and HOORJ insanely close to goal, just skids past the far post. Unlucky.

EDIT: All over! 4-1 to us. The rest of the game was quite messy, the ball constantly getting stolen and many passes going astray. One situation where they could have got a goal, but overall I'm quite pleased with that display, a masive turnaround from the last game and everyone is feeling a bit more confident.

06:00 - Dude slides a pass to Cz on the left, who delivers a lovely cross in for DK but the shot is punched away by the keeper. A flood of players run into the penalty box to get it, but Edge is first in line and gets his first goal for Eyeson. 1-0!
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-distillery-edge-goal.jpg
08:49 - Somehow a player not only gets past Heath, but when Heath AND Manus caught up with him and moved in front of him - he got past both Manus and Heath, again! Slotted in a goal as well, that's 1-1. Ouch.
Half time: Nothing happened other than the goals, really. A few chances here and there but nothing particularly special. Moving back towards a more 4-4-2 style game, with Dan and Spira going off and the wide players coming in the shape of Leopold and Psychotic.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-distillery-halftime.jpg
70:00 Southam on for Dude. Still nothing much happening.
72:00 Further substitutions, Levian on for Manus while blim comes on for Cz, with Leopold dropping back.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-distillery-72.jpg
83:47 Dammit, 2-1. Distillery's McCabe gets a goal in from 25 yards, I have to admit that goal was nigh on unstoppable, though. Right over the head of both defender and goalkeeper.
90:00 Jess is off the field with an injury, and the players seem a bit concerned at how slowly she's getting off. Play is underway while she receives treatment. Distillery have the ball now, and they're -- oh, bugger. 3-1.

Not good enough. Despite being a League Two side, I still think we should have played better against an Northern Irish PL side. I just think we should have seen a lot more from out side. Still, at least we learnt something about the formations to avoid, if anything. I'll revert back to the standard formation for the next game.

On another note, I have a message from our physio, Shauna.

Your players actual name is Wanchope, but I'm sticking nicknames to EoFF usernames so anyone who comes along will realise who is actually 'belonging' to an EoFFer and who is just a regular player who they can 'take over'.

On to the next game, though.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-staines-preview.jpg
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-staines-lineup.jpg

45:00 - The first half was full of chances, but it's nil-all at half time. Harvest in particular has had a lot of chances, while DK and Martin have probably had the best of them. The opposition has had just as many chances, though, and Cz is a bit of concern when it comes to handling the pace of those who come up against him. He gets beaten a bit too easily for my liking. I'll give him a bit longer, though, give a chance to impress. I know he's got the stats to back him up but I just really want to see him play to his potential.

No changes at half time.

61:57 - Crap, they've scored. Their player muscled in past Heath this time, getting a very close one-on-one with smitten just outside her left post. before scoring across at the right post.

63:30 - What a shot by Edge! So close, from such distance. Good attempt, but he's getting a bit tired having played more minutes than anyone this preseason so far.

64:18 - Subs come on now. Harvest, who has tired himself out, is subbed out for Saunders, who will move to the right while Psy goes up front. Leopold finally comes on for Cz. Levian also comes on for Heath. I'm wanting the real change to come up front, though, with a lot more aggression in the attack. The finishing needs to improve in a big way. Our captain Edge is subbed off this time around, as I want Dude to get a bit of time in the middle with Martin to see how they compliment each other.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-staines-63.jpg

82:23 - And the changed tactics pay off! Dude happily accepts a pass in from Martin and feeds in Psychotic, who scores in the top right corner from 25 yards, making the goalkeeper look rather redundant.

94:00 - A 1-1 draw is completed after a lot of defending throughout injury time. The ref blows the whistle and although I obviously would have preferred a win, I'm happy that we've come back from a poor position with little possession to get to a point that we've scored a good goal. The second half performance was far better than the first, and the ratings seem to reflect that.

07:30 - Good chance from Dan, but the keeper tips it over.
08:57 - GOAL! blim passes the ball who taps it over to Psychotic, brilliant one-touch play there - and a goal to finish it off, Psychotic hits it over the keeper from a narrow angle and it's 0-1 to Eyeson.
20:00 - Ooh, good opportunity as blim feeds Cz who runs up the line and passes to Harvest, he runs around the right-back and gets into a wondeful position to strike from but it's gone over.
22:50 - Oxford on the counter attack and Hill is in a good position, but a good tackle and quick passing from Heath and Manus gets the ball back into the other end of the pitch.
26:05 - Oxford almost score from the result of an indirect free kick, but smitten manages to punch it over the bar.
44:00 - Psychotic fantastically steals the ball from a defender in the penalty area and feeds in DK, but it's gone straight to the keeper.
45:00 - Half time and no subs for Eyeson just yet as the players are largely in form and none of them are tired.
55:00 - blim takes the ball all the way up but his cross finds Mason, who sends a long ball back to Hill. Manus can't keep up and despite pressure from both central defenders, he gets the ball in for a goal. smitten was guarding her right post which is where the ball went in - not sure what happened there.
62:57 - OH! So close! Ouch! sends in a brilliant cross from the midfield right and Harvest is right on the end of it - but the keeper has got a finger to it and it's gone over the bar.
63:48 - ;oaihsioashg On the counter attack from the resulting corner, the Oxford forwards run up and completely run around our defence and score a goal on the right side once again. Really, really disappointed with the defence for that one. Terrible display. They had a lot of time to prepare for what was coming but they were made to look like fools.
70:00 - Substitutions.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-oxford-70.jpg
74:58 - DK has a good chance but can't make the most of it.
75:54 - Saunders reaches a long ball just before it reaches the line and feeds in Leopold who heads it towards goal - another good save from the Oxford keeper, though, leads to a corner, which Saunders shockingly puts into the side netting before it reaches a player.
87:00 - Southam replaces a tired Dude.
92:00 - Our last good chance of the match as Cz feeds Saunders who shoots, but it skims it off the outside of the left post.
93:00 - It's all over, 2-1 loss to Oxford when we were meant to run them ragged. Time for me to have a good think about these players and tactics.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-oxford-fans.jpg

Looks like the fans find this display better than the draw and all other losses, but are still disappointed. I don't blame them, really, but at least we're heading in the right direction and our players are combining in a much better way.

In other news, trialist Martin has accepted our £400p/w offer and I find him to be a better player than Southam. Nine years younger and he's better at, well, everything. The only weaker areas are concentration, stamina and natural fitness but these are things that can be worked on. His passing is particularly better. The dealbreaker was that all of this is £200p/w cheaper, so it's a win on every level as far as I'm concerned. Dude and Edge now have what I feel is much more adequate cover.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-players-martin-vs-southam.jpg

Now I just need to find a prospective buyer for Southam. Five clubs are interested, so hopefully we can work something out.

[...later] I've listed him for £5k, which is better than the £95k I'd have to pay him to release him on a free. Three prospective clubs, one offering a 5% sell on fee which I accepted from Nuneaton. Hopefully this get sorted soon enough.

On to more important things!

10:00 - First real chance of the match goes to DK. Some really nice passing between our midfielders, who feed him to take a shot but it goes straight at the keeper's chest.
10:58 - Havant's keeper feeds the ball out to the midfielders quickly and they in turn get the ball to their forward at a rapid speed, and before you know it, 1-0. Bugger. A replay shows that Cz headed the ball back towards the keeper, but in the end it only went straight into the line of their forward. A gift of a goal, definitely.
22:00 - 2-0 already. Really get the impression that Heath and Manus don't know what they're doing as the ball is passed around by the two Havant forwards with ease and the defenders make no attempt to tackle. Baptiste gets his second without being troubled at all.
24:25 - A corner for us and Dude heads it over.
26:40 - Baptiste gets the ball and feeds in Slabber but smitten comfortably saves.
27:28 - Some direct passing and once again it's Baptiste and Slabber on show as Slabber shoots wide. Tactics now changed for tight marking on Baptiste with heavy tackling to be employed. This guy is so far running the whole game on his own.
32:01 - Not the whole game anymore! Jess picks up a pass from blim on the left of then penalty box and the keeper parries her shot, but only into DK who is more than happy to pick up the pieces. 2-1!
40:43 - DK picks up the ball 30 yards out and dribbles it to the other side of the pitch before sending the ball wide of the goal. I'm not sure if that was a cross or a shot - if it was a shot it wasn't close to being on target but if it was a cross there was nobody running onto it.
41:34 - It's all Eyeson right now as Jess repeats her run that lead to the goal, but this time shoots higher and the ball is put over the bar. Brilliant save by the keeper.
45:00 (+2:00) - Psychotic gets a shot on goal but it's straight at the keeper.
45:00 - Half time and it's anyone's game at the moment. The first 30 minutes were the Baptiste show but since then it's been constant attack by Eyeson.
49:47 - DK shoots wide from a one-on-one position with the keeper.
61:24 - DK shoots but the keeper saves, the ball parries out to a Havant defender and it's put out for a corner.
62:53 - That's the third corner in a row and the penalty box is stacked. Only Cz and blim are outside of it, and blim takes the corner once more - GOAL! 2-2! Edge, in the middle of a pack of defenders, somehow gets the ball past the man on the post and it's a wonderful comeback.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-havant-62.jpg
66:56 - Psychotic, marked by an injured defender, misses a sitter in front of goal.
70:45 - Manus... Edge... Ouch!... DK... GOAL! 2-3! A wondeful long ball finds DK's head with ease and it's a splendid header. The runs made by DK have really troubled the H&W defenders and that's his second for Eyeson tonight.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-havant-70.jpg
77:00 - Brilliant keeping by smitten who parries a shot off one H&W forward straight to the winger - but his shot is also saved. Two sitters, two saves, and there's a pat on the back from Heath.
77:23 - Wholesale changes made by BoB as seven players are substituted.
80:23 - GOAL! 2-4! Cz and Leopold struggle with two defenders and the ball is eventually cleared. Harvest, who was waiting for a cross in the penalty box, runs with such pace to the 25 yard spot, turns and shoots! It's in, and that's his first goal, which should do him the world of confidence.
82:33 - Shot by H&W's Pacquette but it's wide.
84:06 - A thumping shot by Saunders but it's also gone just wide.
87:50 - smitten takes a goalkick. Stevens heads it and, upon collecting, Harvest finds himself facing the keeper with all H&W defenders caught napping and he's got it in! Good composure shown by the striker who makes no mistake, slotting it past the keeper's right and into the netting.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0707-friendly-havant-87.jpg
89:00 - Almost a hattrick! Harvest finds himself once again with an incredible amount of space! He's hit the shot wide, though - he'll be gutted with that but he seems to be laughing it off.
92:15 - That's both keepers making double saves this match. Scriven puts the first shot from Saunders straight in front of the goal but recovers in time to stop the second shot from Stevens.
92:26 - Saunders collects the ball, sends in a lovely cross and it gets passed around the penalty box by Stevens, Harvest and then over to Leopold who puts it on target but a good save by Scriven means it's a corner.
94:00 - It's all over and the Eyeson fans applaud their team for coming back from 2-0 down to score five goals without response.

Between a couple of games there's a lot happening this time around. The next game will be a big one since it's our first competitive fixture, well, ever. So, let's check the ol' messages... first of all, I'm to decide on your bonuses. I'm going for a high bonus on league position but a normal bonus on cups. I think the league position is more important as we've got a big task ahead of us right now.

Crap. We have three goalkeepers injured throughout the club right now. So Thompson will start, he's our second keeper. But after that, we're going down the the U-18's to fill in our bench.

Sorry Manus, but smitten out-classed you in the key areas of influence and determination. I also see her as more likely to not lose out on position anytime too soon. Even if she's injured for a game or two. D'oh. Also sorry to Splurt - it wouldn't let me pick you!

06:01 - Shot on goal, I believe by Jess, but it's tipped over for a corner.
18:19 - Good shot on goal but Thompson saves, punching it to Ouch! who puts it out for a corner.
21:24 - Dan feeds Jess and she's got a defender and a keeper to get through - she heads around the defender towards the right post and - GOAL! 1-0! She's put it into the far sidenetting and she's run the length of the pitch in celebration!
29:43 - Psychotic makes a nice run towards goal and muscles out a defender before taking on a shot, but it goes over.
39:32 - A Morecambe striker gets a one-on-one with the keeper but Heath runs back and makes a fantastic tackle to save Thompson the trouble.
42:11 - Dan puts in a straight shot and the keeper spills it, Jess is there but the ref has called for a foul stating she put her leg out to bring down the defender.
45:00 - Half time and it's still 1-0, all players happy and fit despite a few hard tackles on them.
50:35 - Edge fouls a Morecambe player in the center of the pitch, they take the kick quickly and some fast passing puts their forward into a great position, and he makes the most of it by putting the ball past Thompson - 1-1. Damn. The replay shows that Dawkins was completely unmarked.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0708-cc2-morecambe-50.jpg
52:59 - Jess puts a ball forward for Dan but he can't make the most of it - defenders on either side of him, he tried to chip the keeper but he chipped it all the way over the net as well.
57:05 - Jess makes a nice strike and the keeper somehow gets a finger to it, and it's gone out for a corner.
68:00 - A real mess by the defence but they're luckily not punished for it as Ouch! boots the ball away from the penalty box that is lacking a goalkeeper!
70:17 - Oh! That could have been terrible! Thompson distributes the ball directly to Blinkhorn and he happily snaps the ball up and makes a shot - it's wide! Thompson will be thinking hard when he next hands a ball out, that was horrendous.
73:52 - Dude gets booked, and with Edge who is also on the yellow, BoB decides to put in Martin for Dude to allow for someone who can make a strong tackle if required.
83:30 - Some more nice passing moves from Morecambe look as if they're leading to a goal when Newby is called for offside and Eyeson rest a little easier after some sustained pressure.
84:02 - Looks like Harvest is on the sidelines waiting for Dan to come off, now. The influential striker looks very tired.
93:20 - Ooh, Psychotic sends in a lovely cross and a defender clears it only as far as Edge, who makes an optimistic shot but it's gone straight at the keeper.
94:00 - It's all over. I really thought there would be a winner in that with so many good movements, but in the end both teams only made one goal out of their many chances and in fairness, the scoreline reflects a very even match.

...I don't know how that works out, but okay! I'll just assume it's all those magical league games we played on the way to getting into League Two.

What I really don't understand is how Ouch! didn't just extend his record, having played in the same game! Either way, I'll check the records area of FM2008 over time and see how it updates.

EDIT: It looks like all records were wiped - with the exception of most League Goals (Jess - 48 now) and most appearances (oddly, not Cz! It's Heath, on 124... so confusing).

Dan will be missing from the lineup as I focus on getting him fit for the next league game. The Carling Cup, while a wonderful opportunity to bring in the finances, is not a realistic chance for us while we're facing strong Championship opposition, particularly when we have a game on just a few days later which we'll, er, hopefully have a better chance of succeeding in. Subs for this match are smitten, Levian, Leopold, Edge and Psychotic.

11:54 - Ooh! Jess somehow gets herself into some open space around 25 yards out and takes a shot through the widely-spread defenders - but it's tipped over the bar by the 'keeper.
21:31 - And again! Jess seems to find herself -- oh, you get the idea. Same thing, only this time the ball didn't go over the bar and just bounced off the keeper and settled in front of goal. The keeper scurries over and picks up the ball before anyone else can get to it. It's been all Eyeson so far!
27:04 - 0-1 to Blackpool. A nicely delivered from Welsh cross reaches Burgiss and he makes no mistake.
33:22 - blim and Cz combine nicely and feed Harvest, who gets a shot in but it's gone over the top.
37:05 - A quick one-two from a cross ends with the ball sailing over the Eyeson goal -- but only after Thompson gets his fingertips to it.
39:12 - So close! Saunders delivers the perfect cross into Harvest's feet but he can only hit it into the keeper's chest.
45:00 (+ 0:16) - Ooh, Manus saves Eyeson's defence from further penetration by catching a shot on his leg and then clearing.
45:00 - That's half time. 0-1 is quite respectable and Eyeson have had a lot of chances, so you never know, they might just push Blackpool.
51:40 - Another shot towards Thompson but it's deflected and then Heath clears.
52:57 - Bean fires wide.
56:19 - Burgess muscles his way right past Manus, leaving him well behind, and then fires a fast shot underneath the falling Thompson, unable to get down in time. 0-2.
59:56 - Manus and Martin, both tired, leave the field to be replaced by Levian and Edge respectively.
66:13 - A cross comes in from Blackpool corner and it's headed over the top. Psychotic comes on for Saunders.
71:00 - Jess gets another shot on target but the keeper once again parries and his defenders clear quickly.
81:06 - Morrell tries his luck on the Eyeson goal but it's well wide.
90:00 - Full time, and it's a 0-2 win to Blackpool. I feel Eyeson did well to compete and they got a lot of shots in, but might need to work on their finishing. All in all, we weren't embarrassed against a superior club and I'm happy with the performance. Hopefully the fans won't be too harsh.

10:40 - Jess is injured, and has to be taken off. Harvest enters the fray.
15:20 - Brentford get a free kick just outside the penalty box, but it thankfully goes straight to smitten who catches it safely.
16:43 - Shakes fires in from the right wing but it flies past the opposite post and away for a goal kick.
20:42 - Myrie-Williams struggles with two defenders on him but still manages to get a shot in, but it's too high.
24:00 - Three different Brentford players all manage to shrug off Eyeson players and eventually this leads to Myrie-Williams getting a shot on target, and beyond smitten. 1-0.
29:31 - DK slots a cross in and Harvest can't get to it, just narrowly beaten to it by a defender. Otherwise would have been a certain goal!
29:53 - Harvest controls a long ball on the far left corner, crosses to DK who slips a ball to his right where Psychotic punches in - and it's in indeed! GOAL! 1-1!
38:27 - Dude, recently given a yellow card, makes another bad tackle and is lucky to avoid being sent off.
44:05 - Harvest gets a nice ball into his feet, runs past a defender - but his shot is too hard and it goes over.
45:00 (+ 0:13) - Ooh, Dan gathers a pass from the other end of a pitch and also beats a defender, but this time the shot goes wide.
45:00 (+ 1:50) - And again! Dan has a nice shot in from a cross but it is deflected by the keeper... straight into Harvest's feet, who only gets his kick as far as a defender's knee, and it goes out for a corner.
45:00 - Halftime, 1-1. This is better for us than it is for them, so let's keep it up!
49:10 - Some aggressive passing leads to a shot by Smith going wide of smitten's well guarded goal.
53:13 - So close! Dan tackles the ball off the Brentford winger and gets a good run up to the goal - and it goes about one inch shy of the post! So, so close!
57:38 - A fantastic volley from Myrie-Williams is on target, but equally fantastic is the save by smitten and it's out for a corner.
65:57 - Morris is optimistic with his 25-yard shot but it was never close to being a threat to goal.
73:35 - Myrie-Williams makes an individual run down the wing and takes an ambitious shot at goal from distance but again, it's not on target.
78:09 - DK finds himself in a very good position one-on-one with the keeper but the keeper advances too quickly and makes a good block.
86:00 - Dude makes way for Martin.
90:00 - 5 minutes of added time to allow for a possible goal.
90:00 (+ 0:13) - And there's a chance! The midfield works hard for Brentford but to no end product up front.
90:00 (+ 3:36) - Harvest manages to get up front alone but the defenders chase him down quickly this time, and he fires out a shot before they can get the ball off him. Not a good position, and the shot goes wide.
90:00 (+ 5:40) - Dan takes the last touch of the match with a clear road to goal, but he hits it a bit too high and that's the game over. A 1-1 draw gives the Chocobos another point.

07:47 - Harvest gets a shot in but it goes across goal and slides out of play beyond the far post.
09:24 - The ball bounces around the penalty box like a pinball machine but it's cleared by a Bradford defender.
19:50 - A free kick given to Bradford just outside the penalty box gives Bradford their first real opportunity of the game to score, but they don't trouble the keeper.
29:08 - Topp gets in front of Heath, who stays with him and provides enough pessure on him so that he can't get a shot on target.
32:17 - A nice set piece by Eyeson but Harvest can't get it heading towards the goal.
34:00 - Oh! Edge made a poor mistake there, trying to pass back to his defence but instead picking out the opposition striker, who happily takes it and shoots, but smitten gets down to block the shot and gets up fast enough to gather the ball.
40:09 - Crap! A good ballin from Phelan allows Topp to score from a narrow angle.
54:56 - Arrrgh, 0-2. A fantastic cross delivered by Daley and Johnson is the first to it.
65:55 - Edge goes for glory but it's never in the direction of the box.
66:33 - Best chance of the match so far for Eyeson! DK sends in a fantastic cross from the right and Harvest strikes from close quarters, but the keeper somehow ends up with it going right at him.
68:30 - Cross sent in but not far in enough to give the defence any trouble, Harvest heading it out of play.
90:00 - Nothing of matter happens for the rest of the game and I feel we deserved a point there. Finishing let us down. Disappointed.

03:56 - Very nice play down the center and right side and DK finishes it off with a nice shot on goal, but it's not an accurate one.
08:44 - A long shot from Stockport which doesn't trouble smitten.
10:57 - Some nice movement by Stockport results in another shot which goes wide of smitten's goal.
14:02 - Sustained pressure leads to a Stockport goal. I think they had the ball for about three minutes and we never got a touch, and in the end it's 1-0.
28:41 - Ooh! Jess and DK both have shots within seconds of each other but both go straight into defenders.
29:27 - A very good corner cross from blim but it's to no avail as the header goes wide.
45:00 - Half time and it's still 1-0.
55:05 - A good cross from blim again, but Jess sends it over.
63:13 - Shot from Stockport and smitten does well to save. On a sidenote, Cz has improved by bucketloads lately and he's having a very solid game.
72:00 - A throw in leads to the Stockport penalty box but we can't get a shot in and it's cleared quickly.
73:58 - Harvest comes on for Jess, who is tired.
82:09 - Dude makes way for Martin.
84:42 - Mullan takes a strike at the Eyeson goal but it's not a problem for any of the Eyeson defenders, it sails into the stands.
90:00 - It's all over, a very tight game but I feel our strikers have let us down this time, just not able to make the most of their opportunities. Nobody in the midfield really stood up, either. A rather solid game from our defence, obviously one mistake can cost us but it looks like we just couldn't cut it.

06:41 - A shot by Hartlepool which goes wide, goalkick.
10:06 - Some poor defending by Heath allows Sweeney to get a shot on but smitten tips it over.
18:00 - Psychotic is injured by Monkhouse and has to come off. Bugger. HOORJ enters the fray.
32:45 - Hartlepool's Moore has a shot go wide. We're dominating the play but not getting any chances. Not happy with that - I set tactics for faster tempo, more direct and more attacking.
39:39 - Martin has a shot go side for Eyeson, close though.
42:38 - A poor pass by Manus allows for Porter to get a shot in and we're rather lucky to see it go wide.
43:10 - Yet another shot goes wide, this time by Moore.
44:06 - Another one! HOORJ gets a good cross in, Edge makes a quick pass over to DK who shoots from an angle and it doesn't go in tight enough.
45:00 - Halftime and it's 0-0.
47:46 - DK strikes from a distance but - you guessed it - it's gone wide. Good play from Edge, HOORJ and Jess lead to that chance.
51:42 - SO CLOSE! DK, Edge, HOORJ and Martin all link together extremely well before Edge strikes and it's hit the woodwork!
65:33 - A very nice shot meets a very nice save from smitten. It was at an angle but the speed on it meant smitten had to do well, and that she did.
75:00 - Dude is on the sidelines waiting to come on for Martin.
85:51 - Heartache! Sweeney feeds Brown who breaks through the defence, has gone one-on-one with smitten and makes a shot right into the middle of the net. smitten should have done better with that.
88:26 - Hartlepool are just passing the ball around between them now.
89:10 - Just to rub salt into the wounds, it's another goal - Sweeney feeds Barker who makes no mistake.
90:00 - Full time and it's a very disappointing result, despite the fact that Hartlepool are one league up from us.

You need to pick things up a bit, just escaping that relegation spot and all.

Loony BoB
02-17-2008, 01:54 PM
Oh, I know, believe me. :p But that's the position we're in. We took over a newly promoted club and it was always unlikely that we'd have instant success. That's actually why I chose them. Right now I'm sorting out coaches and then after the first season (hopefully avoiding relegation) we can then build on the team with a boost in wages allowance.

On a sidenote, Martin is now Spatvark. Hooray!

I think you should play a 4-3-3 I reckon it would work.

Loony BoB
02-17-2008, 02:26 PM
I've tried 4-3-3 but you have to remember changing the style of play means they have to take time to adjust, which is a pain. Not to mention our tactics coach we've just brought in favours 4-4-2, as do all our other coaches. What we need is a quality finisher which I'm constantly looking out for. Still, we're not 23rd or 24th so we have that to hold onto so far.

13:14 - First shot of the game comes from Barnet in a so far tight affair. Well wide, though.
21:29 - Bishop's hard and straight shot also goes wide, although if O'Cearuill had got a deflection to it there might have been some trouble.
23:39 - blim sends in a corner cick to the penalty box, but Jess' header has gone over.
26:15 - Argh! Some poor tackling on our behalf along with the good passing of Barnet leads to the first goal. Very unhappy with that as we had a lot of chances to get the ball off them. 0-1.
26:24 - But it's been disallowed as offside! Relief over the faces of the Eyeson supporters. The score is corrected and we're back to it.
42:02 - Edge... Ouch!... HOORJ... back to Edge who fires in from just outside the box, but it's gone a foot wide.
45:00 - Half time and we're still at 0-0.
61:57 - Jess muscles past the last defender and -- GOAL!!! 1-0! The Eyeson fans go wild! Dude gets the assist and Jess, one-on-one with the keeper managed to get it pin-perfect as it rebounds off the inside of the post and into the netting at the other side.
64:48 - But the fans are suddenly struck silent as Seanla slots past smitten. Heath should have done better with his marking.
74:50 - Corner and it's headed into the keeper's arms.
79:02 - An angled shot in from distance for Barnet but it's angled too far.
85:00 - A very tired HOORJ comes off for Martin, and Dude moves to the right wing.
88:01 - DK makes way for Harvest.
90:08 (+0:08) - blim gets a nice shot in from the counter, but it skims over the top of the bar. He did well to get that in so quickly.
90:00 (+3:00) - Draw in the end, which is probably the fair result but I just know we had the chances to win.

Forgot to save the lineup, sorry folks.

00:55 - Already a hectic game and DK fires a shot towards goal and it passes the keeper but there's a defender near the far post and he gets to it.
09:36 - A tense moment as three Hereford players converge on goal but the shot made by Taylor goes wide.
13:30 - But that one doesn't! Oh dear, a long shot by Robinson is just as perfect as Jess' one from the game beforehand, bouncing off the inside of the post and into goal. 1-0.
25:29 - Dude heads a cross in but it's beyond the far post.
26:02 - Some quick passing leads to a shot on goal by Hereford but it's to no avail, wide.
31:37 - It seems everyone is passing towards the Hereford midfielders, including the Eyeson players! Edge gives the ball away and Taylor and Benjamin make no mistake, quickly moving the ball forward and then smashing a goal. 2-0.
33:09 - Ooh! Jess, so close! She's sitting in front of goal with the ball at her feet but a defender slides in with a goal-saving tackle.
36:38 - Again! DK plays a 1-2 with Edge but a defender boots it away from beneath his feet in the penalty box.
36:42 - Seconds later, Jess passes a nice ball in to blim and he somehow manages to kick it too high. BoB looks to make some changes with the runs his players are making.
42:50 - Cross, header, smitten's chest.
45:00 (+0:14) - Oh no! Heath misses a glorious opportunity from a set piece, heading it wide of the open goal when he had acres of space.
45:22 - Getting humiliating here and the Eyeson fans are barely singing. 3-0 as Benjamin barges through the defence and strikes home.
46:36 - Another insanely close shot! DK's powerful strike is deflected out by the keeper and it's out for a corner.
59:52 - 3-1!!! Some very nice play from a set piece, there. Dude slides it to Manus who punches it forward, DK catches the ball at his feet and sends the ball into the top left corner. Last time he scored, he got a hattrick, I think? That's Dan's first league goal of the season.
83:58 - Oh, it could have been 3-2! Jess muffs a chance with nobody close to her, firing it over the bar.
84:00 - Dude leaves the field and Spatvark runs on.
87:08 - smitten saves another shot from distance.
90:00 (+3:18) - Hereford manage to hit the sidenetting.
90:00 - Game over, 3-1. Ouch.

I suppose things could be going a lot worse. The losses aren't too disappointing, since they're games we were expected to lose. We just need a bit of luck to help us get that elusive first win, and that'll give the team some confidence.

06:00 - Johnson has a chance but can't make the most of it and it's wide.
14:00 - Andrews slots in Wilbraham but his shot is tipped over the bar.
19:00 - Dude has a shot on goal but it's parried away by the Dons keeper. Shortly after, McAllister loses the Dons defender

with him yet gets his shot parried by Guérét.
33:00 - Johnson moves forward with the ball but, as earlier, his shot goes wide.
38:00 - Gallen plays a pinpoint pass to Andrews, who finds himself free in the penalty area - smitten pushes the ball away.
43:00 - Jess in the clear... bearing down on goal... argh! Just wide!
45:00 - 0-0 at half time.
55:00 - Heath does well to stop Wilbraham getting into a wonderful position.
58:00 - Jess through on goal but the Dons keeper gets his fingertips to it - the ball rolls in front of goal and McAllister

is on it! 0-1 to Eyeson! You can't miss gifts like that!
75:00 - Indirect free kick and Knight takes on Heath and wins the ball, makes himself some space - and sends it wide.
78:00 - McAllister's shot is tapped over.
80:00 - Levian is called in for McAllister who is looking tired. The Eyeson fans clap and Levian is on for him to further

bolster the defence in the final minutes. Dude makes way for Spatvark.
81:00 - Jess makes a wide shot.
86:00 - Incredible save by Guérét and Jess will be wondering how she isn't on the scoreboard!
90:00 - Jess makes way for Dan.
90:00 (+1:00) - Dan gets into a good position but a sliding tackle from Diallo gets the ball from his feet.
90:00 - Full time, and the Eyeson fans applaud their team for a good result, their first win for some time!

I won't be renaming loan players, no. Only permanent signings. Anyone who is having their position taken from loan signings will have to put up with it - but every transfer window I'll be allowing people the opportunity to give up their character and take on a new one. So keep an eye on any signings I make mid-season. :) It's first-in-first-serve for that end of things.

20:19 - No action for a while but O'Donovan manages a strong shot, but also a wide one, from distance.
30:03 - Heath sends in a long ball as DK makes a good run but is called offside.
45:00 - Very few chances and it's 0-0 with not much to talk about, really! Eyeson really dominating, though.
53:53 - DK sends a shot directly to the keeper.
54:27 - Ooh! It's O'Donovan vs. the keeper, Ward, and Ward managed to palm his shot to the side of goal, scrambles over and collects.
69:51 - DK can't get the goal in from blim's corner, it's well wide.
72:13 - Edge makes way for Spatvark. Tactics changed, noting that every chance is for Eyeson so far, the fullbacks start to make more aggressive runs, as does Spatvark and the wingers move further up.
81:40 - O'Donovan gets it on target but can't do anything more than that.
82:30 - McAllister comes on for DK, who hasn't been on form this game.
86:44 - GOAL! O'Donovan provides a fantastic corner kick to the penalty box and Heath heads it in! 1-0!
90:00 (+2:30) - Hearts skip a few beats as the Eyeson fans watch a Chester player find himself in the penalty box - but smitten somehow pushes the ball away!
90:00 - Fulltime, 1-0, and the Eyeson fans are singing the praises after an absoulely dominant display from their team!
For reference, this is the tactics I'd been using at the end.

PR = Press Release. You're "looking forward to facing Peterborough." Good for you. :p

04:35 - Keates takes a shot but it's gone over.
16:40 - Sustained pressure by Peterborough leads to a shot being tipped over for a corner.
21:00 - Dude looks to be in pain after a rough challenge, and Spatvark is brought on for him.
29:23 - A fine save from smitten as a close-quarters shot slices through the defence.
34:41 - There's a nice cross to Keates - and he scores! It's 0-1 to Peterborough.
44:00 - A direct free kick and a nice save from Henderson.
57:00 - McAllister comes on for Jess as she looks to be having a poor game.
64:23 - A lot of pinball within the Eyeson penalty box but, eventually, Heath clears.
65:41 - Ouch sends in a cross, O'Donovan simply taps it onwards and McAllister collects - GOAL! 1-1!
67:51 - Spatvark passes in a fine ball for O'Donovan, but the shot goes wide.
72:00 - O'Donovan sends the ball to Edge, who shoots from distance the but ball flies over the bar.
79:00 - O'Donovan, unable to get out of the play, runs the length of pitch with the ball but the keeper makes a good save.
84:16 - BoB goes all-out attack against Peterborough, putting on DK for Edge.
90:00 - But it ends up with no further major chances and it's 1-1 at full time.

07:11 - A cross comes in for Nottingham and Dudfield makes no mistake - er, except for the fact that he hit it straight to smitten.
17:10 - Jess advances towards the keeper but Silk charges a tackle in and it's a corner kick.
19:03 - Another chance... everything happened so quickly, all I know is it ended with Caig, the Nottingham keeper, with the ball in his hands!
20:34 - Edge's shot looked destined for the net, but it went just over. Good ball in from Jess, though.
23:46 - O'Donovan passes the ball but Dude can't get the shot on target.
30:21 - A very nice intentional deflection for Nottingham but to no avail, the shot goes wide.
37:07 - How is there no goal from that!? Jess chases down a long ball, crosses it in and then the ball is shot one, two, possibly three times but it's not in the goal! The keeper did amazingly well there.
45:00 - Halftime and it's 0-0 right now.
47:30 - Hall strikes at goal, a good shot considering his tight angle but still not good enough. Skimmed the bar, though!
51:29 - Weir-Daley also sends it wide. A bit of pressure in from Nottingham County, here.
56:07 - McAllister has a pop at goal but it's gone over, good effort though.
61:00 - smitten does well to parry a ball away from Weir-Daley.
72:00 - O'Donovan and McAllister find themselves in front of goal with the ball but they don't capitalise.
75:06 - Direct shot from a free kick, lucky for Eyeson it goes down smitten's throat (metaphorically speaking).
75:50 - I'm losing count of the amount of times that the ball is saved by Caig, spilt, and then still not shot into goal. This is another, Edge this time missing out on his luck.
78:07 - Ouch! is lucky. The attacker easily gets in front of him and he just can't keep up - the shot is a few feet wide of the far post, though.
78:35 - Eyeson with a double sub, it's Psychotic on for McAllister (as O'Donovan moves up front) and DK is a straight swap for Jess.
81:18 - DK has an effort on goal, but it goes over.
81:58 - Psychotic feeds O'Donovan and hes' got it! Scoring in the far corner, what a shot! 0-1 to Eyeson! O'Donovan jumps and punches the air!
84:39 - blim earns his rest and it's Levian who's coming in to bolster the defence.
87:37 - Dude feeds a ball to DK and the 'keeper watches it go just wide of the near post.
90:00 (+2:35) - A free kick from outside the area to Nottingham as they look to equalise, but it's gone out for a corner.
90:00 (+3:38) - Butcher shoots but it's all in vain now. Wide again.
90:00 (+6:01) - BoB is raging on the sidelines as O'Donovan is injured six minutes into injury time when only three minutes were originally called for! The fourth official is trying to calm him down.
90:00 - And 14 seconds over, the whistle goes. BoB is raging, but this is a big win all the same and his highly aggressive tactics have paid off handsomly.

By the end of the game, I had five defenders, no midfielders, two wingers, a lone midfielder and two strikers. It looked really weird, but it worked. Aside from that damned 6TH MINUTE OF INJURY TIME ...INJURY >=O Supercocks.

Also I'm glad it's a random who got crippled, and not one of us! (even if he is better than all of us)

The one game I saw with 6 minutes of injury time was the 1-0 2005 CL semi-final between Liverpool and Chelsea. I was fucking incensed. Thank god we made it through!

06:35 - First real chance of the game is Jess putting it on target but the keeper, Arthur, manages a nice save and puts it over the bar.
08:54 - Proctor goes for glory from 20 yards, but it's over.
11:48 - A shot comes in from Eyeson but somehow Arthur gets his fingers to it, then gathers.
14:57 - smitten's turn to make a save, and a good one too.
19:44 - Oh, a brilliant goal! Psychotic's found the net! McAllister chips a ball backwards to Dude, who feeds in Psy and the winger makes no mistake with a cheeky angled chip over Aruther and into to the top corner of the far post.
21:25 - Some good passing from Accrington leads to a straight forward strike from Boco. Pity it needed to be angled!
33:41 - A kick outside the box and Ouch! does well, forcing the keeper to put it out for a corner.
43:19 - Recently carded Psychotic crosses to McAllister who has no defenders before him, but once again Arthur tips it over.
45:00 - 1-0 at half time and the Eyeson fans seem happy enough.
46:18 - Psy and McAllister link up nicely again, only this time McAllister is offside so it counts for nothing.
53:25 - Long range shot from Proctor is futile.
63:09 - Noticing Accrington making a change, BoB decides to put on some fresh legs as well since Edge is tiring quite fast this game. Spatvark takes his place.
71:14 - Branch crosses - oh no! Whaley has got what he wanted, it's a goal, and it's now 1-1. Ouch! not happy with himself, they went right past him.
73:48 - Jess strikes, but it's no good, going wide.
79:15 - DK on for McAllister.
85:59 - Manus... Dude... Spatvark... Psychotic, in the box, oh and that's a nasty tackle! PENALTY!
86:13 - Cz steps up... and it's a goal! 2-1 to Eyeson! That's his first goal of the season.
90:00 (+3:33) - A foul on our player 30 yards out but we take a crack anyway, it's straight down Arthur's throat.
90:00 - The whistle blows, and that's it! Another win for Eyeson!

xD I knew you'd be pissed. But he's so much better than the other options I had, so yeah. This guy is the bees knees, I tells ya.

The good thing about our current main four strikers (sorry, Hazzard) is that two of them are left footed (Jess/McAllister) while all but Jess are right-footed, so it increases the options and allow for a strong attack from both sides.

On another note, a big congratulations to Cz who has turned his form around so much from the preseason. He's now the highest rated player, and constantly plays his heart out despite the fact that he's often down to 60% by the end of the match while most others are around 69%. blim and Psy both sit on 7, as does Lev (although he doesn't play too often). smitten is most in-form, with blim, Heath and then Cz following up.

Morale is extremely low for poor Leopold. If only I could have seven subs. Can't wait for FM2009! :p

01:21 - Craddock collects the ball for the first time for Eyeson... runs up, strikes! But it's wide of the target.
13:48 - blim takes a corner... GOAL!!! But it's been disallowed! Spatvark called for a foul... Baker was allegedly pushed. Gutted.
18:35 - Jess passes, Psychotic shoots - but it's angled too much.
23:10 - Jess makes a run from deep and keeper Provett is off his line... oh, no, the shots gone into the stands.
28:42 - Jess knocks the ball back, Dude feeds Jess - and he's got an assist, that's a fantastic goal! She skids across the turf, that's a proper celebration. Clever play by the two of them.
41:00 - They're dealing a lot of damage to Spatvark and he's walking wounded. BoB gave him a bit of time but it looks like he'll be forced into an early substitution, Edge has been warming up in case of this and he's at the sideline. Spatvark will be unhappy with the way he was treated, not a single yellow despite his knocks.
44:26 - blim sends in a lovely cross under pressure, and Edge gets his header on target but the keeper puts it over the bar.
45:00 - Four minutes of injury time but it's 0-1 now and the players leave the pitch for a short rest.

58:13 - Bury almost get back into it, yet Ouch! positions himself well and clears the ball high and far.
60:52 - Baker has a crack from distance but it was never troubling smitten.
64:22 - Two nil! Cz to blim, blim to Jess who runs ahead of the defensive line, passes the ball back and she's returned the favour to Dude who has plenty of time to compose himself and finish the job. BoB's pleased with that, he's clapping his hands high above his head from the sideline. That's Dude's first ever goal for Eyeson.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0710-cc2-bury-64.jpg The vital pass, and the plentiful space!
67:00 - blim makes another good cross and Craddock finds the end of it, but it's once again just to the right for the new loan man.
74:36 - Corner for Eyeson, blim takes it and Bury defender Morgan is forced to head it up for another corner. Callinor does the same for this one... but the next one is put wide by Jess. Non-stop pressure on Bury!
81:05 - DK comes on for Craddock.
83:10 - And he's making an impact, stealing the ball from a defender and running at goal! The keeper makes a low save and a defender clears to the sidelines for a throw-in. Applause from the crowd for the charismatic forward.
86:56 - Haslam makes a right fool of himself as he has the ball at his feet just six yards out but he puts it wide! Shocking error.
87:34 - Rouse fires in from a fantastic cross - it's a goal! Dutton-Black's cross was too good for the Eyeson defence, there was little they could do about that.
87:50 - That's Harvest on for Jess who gets a strong applause.
90:00 (+3:04) - A good run down the left from blim yet Harvest is caught offside as the cross is made.
90:00 - That's fulltime, a 1-2 win to Eyeson away from home and the home fans don't seem happy. The Chocobos are smiling, though, and clap to their fans who are more than happy to stick around to show their appreciation to the team. Dude, blim and Jess in particular all had a fantastic game.

All I know is that Shrewsbury have got a nice DM in front of a back four, while their lone frontman has got 7 goals for them. It'll be an interesting game, it's a very different side to those that we've faced recently so we'll have to find a different approach when it comes to breaking them down.

Looks like you'll have to mark the frontsman pretty well.
Maybe if you make Manus and Heath mark him then he should be isolated.

Loony BoB
02-19-2008, 12:49 PM
He's a fast bugger so if he played deep and we were marking him, they could just play long ball and easily outrun the defenders to it. The problem is that they have a damned strong central midfielder or two in there, too - I'm really surprised that with these players they're so low in the league. It looks as though it's due to conceding a lot, which I find surprising given their strong defence and the quality defending stats of their DM. If we use three up front, it'll probably have to be at the expense of our wingers. I'm not willing to do that as they have a strong central midfield. I may, on the other hand, try out a 4-5-1 like they are and see if we can play down the wings and have Spatvark making forward runs.

Looking forward to getting home and finding out how it goes, either way.

Option 1: 4-3-3 with only one central midfielder.
Option 2: 4-3-3 with three central midfielders.
Option 3: 4-5-1 with wingers going forward.
Option 4: 4-4-2 as normal.

04:47 - Ryan has a shot from distance but it's no good, reaching the stands instead of netting.
12:16 - GOAL! 2-0! Oh, but it's been disallowed! That was almost identical to the last one but Jess this time finds herself offside.
15:00 - smitten makes a good save from a close range shot by Shrewsbury.
18:04 - Ryan shoots, smitten makes a save but the ball is rolling in front of goal... she gets to it just before Nicholson.
19:00 - Nicholson on the counter and he shoots, smitten parries, Manus clears.
21:14 - Oh! It's off the crossbar from the Shrewsbury winger, a real close one there.
24:51 - Hunt is given a yellow as he takes Psychotic down outside the area. Jess takes the kick and shoots hard and fast, but it's not on target.
28:35 - Nice pass from Moss to Nicholson, oh, he's just helped it on it's way and it's in! Far corner, goal to Shrewsbury and it's an even game now! Manus is calling for offside but a replay shows Heath was further back.
34:53 - Nicholson muscles past Manus and fires in a quality shot but it's straight above smitten who jumps and puts it over the bar.
38:08 - DK puts in a nice long cross from the corner area, Jess finds the end of it but she nods wide.
40:23 - Drummond has a crack from a cross but it's over the bar.
41:42 - Another save from smitten, this time it's Ryan who shot the ball in.
45:00 - Tremendous game so far with chances on chances - it's still 1-1 though and both teams will be looking for a win.
45:57 - Oh dear, Nicholson eases past the defence once more and he's struck hard - but too hard, as it misses the top right corner.
52:04 - Some quick passing around the penalty area does Shrewsbury no good and it's off target again by Ryan.
63:43 - Nicholson is away with loads of room and nobody in front of him but the keeper! But he's being pressed too tight and the angle isn't good for him, straight into smitten's arms.
65:28 - Another shot on by Nicholson which is too high.
69:00 - A nice cross from blim but it ends up with nobody on the end of it.
72:13 - Drummond latches onto a cross but heads it wide.
72:21 - Looks like BoB's calling a change, with Edge coming on for Craddock. He's done well but Dude is tiring in the midfield and BoB doesn't seem to want him to do it on his own now.
77:52 - Ouch! feeds to Dude, who plays a nice ball up for DK who manages to get on the end of it, great run, but his shot is straight to the keeper.
82:00 - Both teams make double substitutions, and blim heads to the sidelines to make way for Leopold. DK is off for a rest as Harvest joins Jess up front.
88:27 - Free kick, Jorgensen shoots from outside the area but it's well wide.
90:00 (+5:18) - Psychotic is injured and has to come off, leaving ten men for the dying seconds.
90:00 - It's all over, a 1-1 draw with a lot of shots but just two goals - one a piece. Jess' early goal wasn't enough.

Jess was lacking in match fitness after a rough game last week, so she missed the cut. 80% condition is no way to start a match.

03:00 - First half-chance of the game as Lincoln strike wide.
04:33 - McAllister and Craddock combine well and feed in the forward-running Dude but his shot is given a bump over the bar by the Lincoln keeper.
06:31 - GOAL! Dude puts a nice pass in for McAllister who makes a very clean strike to the far corner, the keeper might have done better with that but the Irishman has made his presence known to great effect.
08:06 - GOAL! Well, that lead was short-lived! Forrester the dangerman gets his 11th of the season after a nice through-ball from Frecklington. Ouch! is furious with the assistant though and it's soon clear why... Forrester was offside!
10:59 - Watkins has a shot but it's wide.
15:11 - blim delivers a cross and Craddock can't get a clean shot in as he's surrounded by defenders.
19:01 - The ball's in the net again but there's a foul on Manus and it won't count.
33:09 - Jamie Forrester with a dramatic bicycle kick but it's not got the right direction.
35:06 - Dude takes on a long shot but it doesn't trouble the keeper.
39:39 - Oooh! Craddock in a lot of space and he shoots just inside the penalty area, but it's parried away by Cherry and then cleared by the defender.
40:34 - Heath with a cheeky longshot from halfway! On target, too! But the keeper has it.
42:59 - A good fast tempo to this game, and we have an indirect free kick from outside the area. GOAL! Oh, Cz took it fast, who got on the end of that? Ouch! is claiming it as he wheels away from the penalty box, he's got a massive smile on his face! 1-2! That's Ouch!'s first goal of the season.
45:00 - Tremendous match so far, 1-2 to the away team and hopefully there's more to this yet!
51:17 - GOAL! Corner from Frecklington and Watkins has his head to it, fantastic header there. It's 2-2 again and there's surely more to come, that's a goal either side of the break from a set piece.
56:54 - GOAL! Oh dear, it's all falling apart for Eyeson, they're down 3-2 after a brilliant shot from the edge of the penalty area from a free kick. That really was as far wide as he could have hit it without it touching the post.
71:26 - Nothing much for a while now but BoB is calling in Cz and Craddock with DK and Leopold jumping up and down on the edge of the pitch.
74:32 - Edge picks up a forward pass and goes for the long shot, but it's just wide of the near post.
80:12 - Well, that's surely put it to bed as Lincoln go 4-2 as Watkins gets in on the act again.
90:00 (+0:14) - A wild shot from blim flies over the bar.
90:00 (+1:48) - A lovely cross from DK finds McAllister, but it's gone over the bar from such a close range.
90:00 - All over now and the 4-2 scoreline

FYI, four midweek games went on and we're still 11th, so we've at least got that on our side. Spatvark has returned to full fitness, Jess is at 100% again, too. Psychotic is still on 86% so I've left him out.

Since we actually have three central midfielders available to us, I'm thinking I'll start with the lot of them.

Something like this, maybe.

What's Saunders unhappy about?

Not getting first team matches.

We won 2-0 and played a pretty much perfect game. I have all the images saved. But then my PC crashed before I saved the game and now the whole game has to be redone. So I'm going to keep doing it (fast-style) until I get a win again, and I won't bother typing out much commentary for this one as I'm really pissed off at my PC for choosing that very moment as the one time it's ever randomly restarted on me in the 1-2 years I've had it. So hacked off.

Usually not being in the first team enough, or something equally obnoxious. That was my main gripe with the game, players getting pissed that you aren't picking them whether or not they're hopeless.

EDIT: BoB is too fast

I did brief commentary.

3:00 - Spatvark gets his first ever goal for Eyeson.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0710-cc2-grimsby-3.jpg
7:46 - Spatvark strikes, over.
21:15 - Nice move, Jess scores. (long ball Heath)
29:30 - Spatvark shoots wide.
36:47 - O'Conner shoots wide.
37:20 - Jess shoots, Montgomery saves.
45:00 (+0:27) - Spatvark shoots, Montgomery gets a hand to it and it goes out.
45:00 - Halftime, 2-0.
46:28 - Dude goes to ground, ref gives him yellow for diving!
49:33 - 2-1, Jarman scores.
55:47 - Jarman shoots wide.
57:04 - smitten saves a shot on target. Good save.
63:21 - Dude feeds Jess but the keeper lands at her feet and gathers.
63:48 - smitten makes another good save.
73:26 - Spatvark goes off due to tiredness, Craddock is on, 4-4-2.
83:37 - Double save from an indirect free kick set piece by smitten.
85:00 - DK on for blim, making a weird right-side-heavy formation (but it worked last time).
87:07 - Clarke makes a terribly wide shot.
87:45 - smitten saves again.
89:30 - Casal has a laughably pathetic shot go wide at a very slow pace.
90:00 (+1:43) - Craddock feeds DK but the shot is wide.
90:00 (+2:24) - DK shoots and it's off the far post!
90:00 (+2:43) - Rankin caught offside as his shot goes wide.
90:00 - All over, 2-1.

So Jess steals Cz's MOTM, Spatty steals his goal (which was funny as he clearly wasn't going for goal, he was wanting a header onwards but nobody got to it and it just went in). We lose the clean sheet from the original game, and get no players into the team of the weak (last time we had Heath, Cz and Saunders). Also the fans were around 80% happy with our performance last time, which is the best we'd ever had. Ahhh well.

The upsides? Edge doesn't get a yellow (and thus, a suspension for one match), Spatvark has a much better game which he needed as the fans were questioning him a lot lately, and most importantly of all, winning is winning.

I have to say, it's a big bonus as we've been relying on just three central midfielders with no reasonable backup for some time. If I can allow for the option of having a 4-3-3 with an extra CM on the bench then I'll be happy. McAllister seems to be doing better for us than Craddock, too, which is a bit of a surprise given Craddock's finishing is superior to everyone else, but I'm happy all the same as we have options with Jess and DK both doing well also.

The biggest plus so far, though, is that we won 2-0 in one game (the one that got wiped by my restart) and then 2-1 in the next - both without Craddock and McAllister in the starting lineup. Jess did well as the lone striker and Spatvark, Edge and Dude worked together brilliantly. With us already having good wingers, this can only boost our options when we go up against different teams.

Big game up next - Chesterfield. It'll be very tough, but they've lost their first game just days ago and it was to lowly Rotherham of all clubs. We're much better placed than Rotherham so I'm hoping we have the possibility of a real upset on our hands.

Looking forward to simming that tonight, although I don't have any real expectations of a win. Chesterfield aren't the best team in attack (although probably still better than us), but they've conceded just 8 goals in 14 games. We'll have to do very well to penetrate that defence, and if we do then we should hopefully be able to scrape a draw if we're lucky.

For those interested, the other team to have been promoted into League Two alongside ourselves is Morecambe - just one position below us. A good run so far for the previously conference sides, it seems. The teams to have dropped from League One into League Two are frontrunners Chesterfield as well as Bradford, Rotherham and Brentford.

Score a goal then go all out defencive so they cant get one back.
Or you could strengthen your defence and go for a 0-0 draw.

04:31 - Some clever movement by Ward to pass by a defender and he shoots, but it's put over the bar by smitten.
05:42 - Rooney puts a through ball in for Ward who has a shot saved by smitten, but he was offside all the same.
07:30 - Two shots from within the penalty area, both parried by smitten. And there's another player to the ball again, but he crosses it to an offside player.
12:56 - Rooney gets a shot in, but it's wide.
15:14 - Sustained pressure pays off for Chesterfield as Ward finds the far corner of the netting from an angled shot. 1-0.
17:31 - Leven collides with Ouch! and he's off already, injured.
20:45 - Jess and Lester are both caught offside within seconds of each other. Lots of offsides in this match and it looks like the defenders are playing tight lines on both sides.
21:44 - The ball is in the 6 yard box but smitten falls on top of it.
24:53 - Ooh, smitten tips another one over the bar...
32:06 - Ouch! has a cracker of a shot from distance but it's too high to really trouble the keeper.
35:35 - Some really slick, quick passing by Chesterfield showing why they're top of the table, but the shot by Ward was a few feet too wide to push the point home.
42:22 - Ohhh, what a finish from Craddock! Great play, Psychotic did really well to get to the ball and head it to the forward under pressure. Craddock made sure that effort meant something, letting the ball sail just out of reach of the keeper and into netting. That's his first goal for Eyeson.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0711-cc2-chesterfield-42a.jpg
45:00 (+0:35) - A nasty foul on Heath there by Ward and the ref calls him over. Oh! It's a straight red for the goalscorer! Ward is looking around with his hands on his head, he can't believe it!
40:00 (+6:45) - The Chesterfield players are still having words with the ref but they're cut short as one of their forwards makes a good run, they forget about the incident for now and Austin shoots, ohhhh, so close, but it's over the top.
45:00 - A highly eventful first half sees two goals and a red card for Ward and Eyeson will feel they have an opportunity to take advantage of here against the league table toppers.

Let's see if our players know how to spell 'upset'...

EDIT:
58:25 - Psychotic crosses from out wide, blim has it, passes-- it's in! Jess scores! It's 1-2 at Saltergate and the Eyeson fans are loving it, Jess leaps into the air and thumps her fist, she's delighted to put her side ahead!
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0711-cc2-chesterfield-58.jpg
66:13 - Jess striikes but it's too tight, it was never going to go in from there.
68:48 - Craddock makes a run to the edge of the penalty area but Forecast (keeper) gets there first and gathers the ball.
69:02 - Oh no! It's 2-2! 10-man Chesterfield have equalised! Austin makes a nice pass and Lester has the perfect run in, he just has to hit it with his shin and it flies into the net! Game on!
73:00 - Dyer is off for Jackson, that's all three of Chestefields substitutions as Eyeson have run them ragged.
75:06 - The six yard box is packed with forwards and defenders but Ouch! manages to clear.
78:21 - Oh dear! A great chance is wasted as Craddock finds himself with a nice pass from Dude in front of goal, he's skied it.
78:31 - Spatvark comes on for blim for a three-man central midfield.
88:15 - Craddock is up against the keeper now but Forecast does well to put that over the bar.
90:00 (+2:57) - Eyeson make one last change as DK comes on for Edge who is hobbling around in the midfield, but it's only wasting time for goals.
90:00 - That's it, it's all over here! 2-2 and while BoB will be disappointed with the inability to hold on for the win, he'll know that his team have done well against the top side and a point is never easy to get at Saltergate. The players clap to their fans as they head off the pitch.

01:23 - A good start by the Chocobos as Psychotic receives a cross in the six yard box but somehow keeper Shearer is able to keep it out.
09:50 - GOAL! Jess strikes once more, that's her 7th this season and Spatvark picks up the assist.

http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0711-cc2-wycombe-09a.jpg
15:07 - Oh dear, Manus allows Reid to get into a wonderful position but he's lucky to see smitten make a brilliant save. Manus picks up the ball from the parry and boots it high into the stands.
36:26 - Dangerman Torres makes a good run in but Heath makes a fantastic tackle before he can get into a shot-making position.
36:41 - Sutton's header flies over the bar.
41:26 - Corner for Eyeson, and blim sends it in-- GOAL! Edge picks up his first league goal of the season with a brilliant header! The Eyeson players are quick to run to their captain to give their congratulations as he kisses his badge and thumps his chest.
45:00 (+0:40) - Reid gets a shot on goal - smitten saves but the ball is still floating around the six yard box. Heath clears.
45:00 (+1:08) - McGleish scores! It's 1-2 now as he did well to outpace the defenders on the counter, shooting into the far corner from a 45 degree angle. He picked the ball up from an awful backwards header by Edge.
48:02 - That's Edge with a yellow, and he's gutted as he knows he'll be missing a match now.
49:03 - Antwi with a chance from a corner but the header bounces over the bar.
51:49 - Manus makes a rough tackle in the penalty area - and the ref points to the spot! It's a penalty kick for Wycombe!
52:16 - GOAL! That's in, smitten went the right way but not fast enough to beat Williams' shot.
53:24 - Eyeson want to make a change... it's McAllister coming on, and it look like Spatvark will be heading to the bench.
59:38 - smitten does well to save a shot right down in the corner.
66:04 - Jess and blim work well to get the ball from one end to the other between them, Jess controls the ball around the right back - shoots! But it's gone wide.
72:56 - Fine save! A strong shot from the Wycombe midfield but she somehow gets to it.
75:08 - Manus makes a vital clearance after smitten saves a shot by Torres.
76:05 - Jess strikes wide from distance, but it's a goalkick and BoB seems to be wanting some changes. Jess is off to applause as Craddock joins the fray, and Cz is making way for Leopold.
80:26 - Torres crosses to Reid who makes a thumping shot dead on target, and the shot bounces right off smitten's chest - and Reid is already in the six yard box, he's got it in! I didn't know he could run that fast!
90:00 (+3:24) - A last chance moment here as blim takes a corner - but Shearer has it covered.
90:00 - It's all over, and Eyeson have thrown away a solid halftime lead. They'll be very disappointed with themselves for this, and the Eyeson fans certainly even more so.

17:39 - GOAL! Not much had been happening but Jess has changed that now! Eyeson's first real chance of the game and they've put it away, 1-0! A real cracker of a shot, that. Good long ball from Manus, too!
24:09 - Tonge plays a good ball forward but Holmes can't do it justice, sending it a few feet wide.
24:44 - Great run by O'Grady, evading a lot of defenders there! The shot is over, though.
30:12 - Jess tries to blast it from distance but it's too high to bother Steele.
45:00 - A rather uneventful first half aside from Jess' goal and it should heat up from here.
50:13 - Some very cool, classy passing amongst a congested area of the field by Eyeson, but the end result is a shot that goes too wide. Jess shows her appreciation for the work done with a thumbs up to her midfield.
55:19 - Ooh, nice shot by Spatvark but it's too high.
63:00 - A rare chance for Rotherham as Todd makes a nice pass, but the resulting shot is right into smitten's arms.
65:10 - Craddock sends Psychotic forward with a superb through-ball - Over! Wow, that shot was incredibly fast. What a strike!
69:08 - Holmes shoots, it's curving, it's - wide! It curved right out of the danger zone!
73:38 - Milsom and Holmes combine in near-deadly fashion, that's a nother strike gone to the left of goal for Rotherham.
74:11 - The goalkick goes straight to Holmes who makes a run and a shot from outside the penalty area, it's wide again!
74:25 - Looks like Spatvark is huffing and puffing, and it's Leopold who comes on... it will be interesting to see how this team plays. It looks like Leopold is going on Dude's left as the midfield move a bit further back.
77:13 - Holmes goes for goal but it's wide (again!).
78:22 - Holmes is really troubling them right now, he shot that ball right from Manus' feet and smitten put it over, this is a lot of pressure being put onto the Eyeson goal and BoB will want to do something about it.
82:30 - O'Grady smashes the ball wide.
83:00 - Craddock is off, Harvest on.
90:00 (+3:00) - blim has collided with a Rotherham player and it looks like he'll be going straight off. Saunders trots onto the field for the final minutes of the game.
90:00 - It's over! A hard-fought game, this one, and Eyeson will feel pleased with a 1-0 victory.

07:32 - What a shot! Fantastic effort from Dagnall from almost 30 yards out, and it was inches over the top!
08:24 - GOAL! 0-1 to Eyeson as they score to take an early lead, almost a tradition for the Chocobos! BoB had been asking for Craddock to perform better lately and he's got a goal to show his boss he can do just that. A nice ball in from Cz who will get the assist, and Craddock left the defence behind him, edging the ball past the keeper.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0711-cc2-rochdale-8.jpg
10:07 - Dagnall heads the ball over the goal from a set piece.
45:00 (+0:06) - Great save by smitten from a thumper by Dagnall.
57:51 - Etuhu on a counter after a dangerous run by Psychotic with no end product, and the cross comes in from the Rochdale player but Heath manages to clear the danger. ...It's gone all the way to Craddock, actually, and now it's a counter-counter! Passes to Psychotic... Ouch!... ooh, the cross whizzed past the face of goal but there were not Eyeson players there to put it in.
67:43 - Free kick outside the area for Eyeson, and Dude takes it. Passes to Edge, then to Ouch! who fires in! But it's high and wide, that's why he's a defender.
73:59 - Heath puts a ball back into midfield but only as far as Jones who opportunistically smashes the ball over. He had a lot more time than he thought, one feels.
75:44 - Both sides make a substitution (McAllister comes on for Jess).
78:48 - The home fans are jumping in the stands, it's a goal for Rochdale! That was a great free kick from Dagnall, he'll be well pleased. 1-1.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0711-cc2-rochdale-78.jpg
80:37 - McAllister gets into a good position but it's a good tackle from a Rochdale defender who sends it out for a corner.
85:47 - Dagnall on the counter and he shoots it high into the stands from outside the area.
90:00 - And that's it, full time and the Eyeson faithful will be disappointed that they didn't get a result here.

09:47 - Ooh! First real chance of the match, Jess doesn't strike it cleanly but it's still on target, and it takes a fine save from Brain to stop it finding the back of the net.
13:46 - Eagle tries his luck at a long shot but it's wide.
22:00 - Two forwards on the edge of Eyeson's penalty area but Heath does well to get between them, tackle the ball-holder and clear the ball from the area. Good stuff.
35:54 - Husbands shoots wide from a cross. Poor effort.
38:00 - A double save there by smitten, or was it a triple? Either way, the ball is out eventually and she'll be relieved at that. Eyeson struggling to keep hold of the ball here, 42% possession to them in a home game. BoB won't be pleased.
39:40 - Psychotic finds Cz's cross but it's straight at the keeper.
45:00 (+0:40) - Ooh, best chance for some time there as Craddock puts in a nice cross for Jess, but Macclesfield's Dimech gets between striker and ball and puts it out for a corner.
45:00 - Half time at Aiyonfield and it's all level.
45:00 - It looks like BoB's going for more up front as McAllister joins Jess and Craddock at the expense of blim on the left.
45:30 - Instant attack by Eyeson and Brain is forced to make a save in the lower right corner of goal from a Craddock shot. Good job by Levian in splitting the midfield with a nice pass.
45:53 - Macclesfield get a shot wide on the counter.
50:46 - Great play by Jess and McAllister but it's to no end product thanks to some packed defenders in the penalty area.
50:56 - Dude has a shot but it's well wide.
69:24 - GOAL! 1-0 to Eyeson, a great cross from McAllister and Jess is tight up against the goalline, it's just a tap-in required from her! Wait-- the assistant has his flag up! It won't count! Jess is gutted. she thought she'd timed her run well there.
70:37 - One minute later, and it's 1-0 for sure this time! Craddock is flooded by his teammates and the Chocobos get their goal, Macclesfield can not believe it and there are a few by the assistant hoping for a second favour. It was a great first touch that made that goal. Jess fed the ball for him from just outside the penalty area, he took one touch with his right foot and brought it to his left to make some space, took the shot with his weaker foot and scored.
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0712-cc2-macclesfield-70.jpg
74:27 - McAllister makes a fantastic run into open space with the ball, and he's up against the keeper now - oh, his shot is parried. Another! Dude strikes the loose ball into an open goal! It's 2-0!
http://www.eyesonff.com/BoB/eyesonfc/0712-cc2-macclesfield-74.jpg
76:39 - Almost a third goal there as Macclesfield struggle to get the ball away from their penalty area. The three strikers are working together with fantastic play.
79:28 - Amidst the constant attack, Wiles manages to get a shot in for Macclesfield but it's gone wide.
80:00 - Saunders on for Psychotic.
86:31 - Harvest feeds McAllister - Ooh! Nice shot from the Irishman, but it's just over.
88:39 - Corner, and McAllister powers a header at goal, but it's grazed the top of the bar and heads out.
90:00 - The whistle goes for full time and that's a 2-0 home win orchestrated by substitute McAllister, who has really done a job for the fans today, who are happy to applaud their team off.

01:46 - Roberts has an effort but it's wide.
04:17 - Cz fouls a Wrexham player, it's a penalty!
04:43 - smitten's saved it! Another shot, another save! Cz clears for a corner, that's top notch stuff by the Eyeson keeper!
05:35 - Some very nice individual play from Craddock, he shoots and the ball skims off the top of the bar. Good stuff!
21:02 - Jess is the one in the good position this time, but she's shot it wide! Painful as that was a real opportunity.
22:19 - Jess is on the end of a long ball again, and she shoots it straight at the keeper, who sends it right back at her, she shoots again, the keeper parries this time, it's away from the danger area.
23:35 - Ooh, smitten sends a nice shot by Roberts over the bar.
27:06 - Oh dear, it's 1-0 for Wrexham who were quite fantastic with their passing around the box. These lads are on top of their game when it comes to quick passes and they've got a goal to show for it. Proctor's on the scoresheet.
29:30 - Response! 1-1 as blim feeds a great ball into Jess from the wing, and she's put it into the far corner! Wonderful finish.
30:44 - Psychotic gets a great ball in from Craddock but he can't put it away, grazing the top of the bar. Good effort!
38:24 - Jess feeds a ball in for Craddock who has a great effort but the keeper gets his hands to it.
39:34 - It's all Eyeson right now as the Craddock makes a nice pass to Jess who puts it wide. She couldn't control that with the pressure from the defender at her ankles.
44:33 - Edge gets his traditional yellow card.
45:00 - Halftime, 1-1.
49:52 - Llewellyn takes the free kick but it's a wasted effort, very wide.
50:54 - Keeper Williams comes out, sends the ball to Pejic who has Craddock racing in on him, Craddock shoots as Pejic tries to turn and Pejic manages to get a leg out to block it, but the ball has gone into Jess' sights and Williams is well out of goal, it's an easy finish for the striker for her 10th goal of the season. Terrible by Williams, he'll have to take the blame for that one!

55:37 - Llewellyn manages to get into a great position to equalise but his shot is wide.
58:30 - Eyeson are bringing on some fresh legs... it's McAllister for Edge. It looks like Dude is dropping back to DM and McAllister will play a deeper role than usual.
63:14 - Llewellyn shoots once more, no luck, it's angled too wide.
79:00 - Leopold comes on for Cz.
89:44 - McAllister forces Williams to make a save - good cross from Psychotic!
90:00 (+3:52) - Jess fires from distance but that was never troubling the keeper.
90:00 - It's all over! 2-3 in favour of the Chocobos and they'll be pleased with an away win.

03:24 - Dude sets himself up for a shot but it's gone over.
28:59 - Nice save from Wilkinson to get that shot from Edge away from goal, and Mullins puts it out for a corner.
31:53 - Oh dear! Jess' header goes wide, that bounced around for a while and the Mansfield players don't look incredibly organised in defence.
33:07 - Shot just side of goal from a Mansfield striker.
42:45 - Lovely work by Dude and blim to get a perfect cross in for Jess, but there's no goal as Jess' tap finds only the keepers arms.
45:00 - A drab match so far, Edge picks up his traditional yellow just before half time. 0-0.
48:04 - Dawson sends a strike well wide.
56:50 - Corner - headed out - ooh! Cz nearly gets onto the scoresheet but it's blocked by Wood, well done.
59:17 - Edge shoots from the right side but it's past the far post and out for a goalkick.
65:26 - Jess shoots from afar but it's also out to the left of goal.
70:10 - Another shot to the left of goal by Jess.
80:00 - That's Harvest on for Edge, who has had a pretty good game.
92:29 - A long shot by Ouch! is tipped over the bar!
90:00 - It's all over! It was a very slow game with more chances going to Eyeson, but Wilkinson was on top form and didn't let a shot in. He'll take man of the match, surely.

03:10 - Craddock gets the ball at his feet and fires in a shot, but it's wide.
11:50 - Dude's 25 yard shot is fast and accurate, but the keeper is right at the end of it.
20:34 - A shot on goal from one of the Darlington players, but smitten makes the save.
22:48 - Another good save by smitten as she tips Wright's shot over the bar.
36:00 - Lovely move by Eyeson sees Craddock forcing the Darlington keeper to make a save.
38:45 - Another nice move by Eyeson sees Jess firing into the keeper.
41:44 - Craddock just outside the area, he shoots and it's just wide of the mark.
45:00 - The ref blows his whistle for half time and Eyeson won't be disappointed by the scoreline at the moment. They're taking the game to Darlington!
55:49 - Close! A save by smitten sees the ball settling right smack in the middle of the six yard box, lucky for Eyeson Heath is first to it.
59:49 - Psychotic has a great shot on goal from the right and Oakes manages to put it over.
60:36 - The resulting corner has the ball sent back to halfway and Blundell picks it up and runs past the defence towards goal - but he shoots the ball into the sidenetting as Heath catches up with him.
63:06 - Wright has a shot from the right but it finds nothing but sidenetting.
63:13 - blim, who took a knock earlier in the match, is coming off now. Leopold heads into his position.
74:30 - What a chance! Jess steals the ball from the last defender and runs to goal, shooting over the keeper who knocks it out for a corner. Good effort!
76:00 - Edge tackles the ball from a Darlington player, feeds Craddock who shoots immediately! But it's just off target.
76:09 - Looks like Dude is coming off, and there's a big applause as Splurt makes his first game this season after a long spell out injured!
79:35 - GOAL! Blundell scores! A nice cross from the right wing and he's first to it, tapping it in for a goal.
81:09 - Looks like Harvest is going to replace Craddock, who has given a performance below his usual standard.
84:46 - Oh dear, just after Eyeson make their last substitution, Jess gets a rough knock and she looks in pain.
90:00 - There's the final whistle, fulltime and it's a 1-0 home victory to Darlington. Eyeson put in a great effort first half, but it looked to fall away in the second as Darlington began to dominate.

06:21 - Shot by Allen this time from outside the area, it whistles over the bar.
15:13 - Another shot saved by smitten, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway as Twiss is caught offside.
17:31 - Blinkhorn makes a run into the area and has good space, but his shot flies wide.
20:34 - First chance for Eyeson comes by way of a long shot by Dude, but he can't get it on target.

81:02 - Ooh, Heath was so close to heading that corner kick in!
83:11 - Spatvark gathers the ball, he's making a run - he's got Craddock to his right but he's going alone, he's scored! GOAL to Eyeson! What a strike!

90:00 (+3:39) - Morecambe with a chance to get an equaliser with a free kick outside the area. It's floated in perfectly - but it's a foul by Curtis, he's obstructing Levian.
90:00 (+4:41) - It's another free kick, this time from a better angle. The shot is made by Hunter... it's on target, but smitten makes a fine save!
90:00 - The corner comes in but Cz boots it away, that's full time! 0-1 win to Eyeson.

45:00 - Halftime, still 0-0.

81:05 - Mullan on the counter and smitten does well to push it out for a corner.
82:25 - Eldin has a crack from in close, but smitten saves and Splurt clears.
87:11 - Dude is fouled for elbowing Blizzard in the face - it's red! He's sent off!
90:00 (+2:35) - Manus clears a thumping free kick by Taylor.
90:00 (+4:14) - blim shoots but it's straight to the keeper.
90:00 - It's all over! A 1-1 draw at Aiyonfield, with Eyeson down to ten men for the final minutes.

03:34 - Davis has a shot but it's well wide.
20:37 - Some very nice, clean passing all over the left side of the pitch by the Chocobos leads to a shot by Jess - but from such a tight angle it was never going in.
23:38 - Quality strike by Leary, it's just over the bar.
28:16 - Loach does well to push that one out for a corner, nice cross by Psychotic and a shot on target by Jess.
30:12 - smitten charges out at a winger who's angling in and she does well to parry his save to Heath, who clears.
38:10 - Good through-ball from Psychotic, Jess can't get the shot on target.
43:03 - Edge goes for glory! But it's over!
45:00 - No goals so far.
63:10 - Jess shoots, but she's called offside and the shot is saved all the same.
76:12 - Hazley strikes it with FURY! But he can't direct it goalwards.
79:16 - DK strikes it but it ends up as more of a cross, and there's nobody with him to put it in.
81:33 - Another wide strike by Hazley.
84:31 - smitten does well to put a strike from Thomas over.
90:00 - All over, what a rubbish game.

07:32 - smitten does very well to put a fantastic strike by Armstrong out for a corner. Quality all round.
14:51 - Psychotic plays a short pass to DK, who hits it, but not on target.
26:06 - Ooh, close there, Easton somehow gets past Lee and has a great chance, but somehow he puts it over the bar.
45:00 - All even at half time with no goals scored.
52:29 - Good tackle by Edge, good run by Edge, poor shot by Edge.
56:45 - A dangerous moment ends as Levian clears the ball from the six yard box.
57:39 - Smith intercepts Spatvark's pass to Jess, fires the ball back in for Johnson, quick pass to Armstrong who strikes! It's 0-1, goal to Hereford! Spatvark gave away the ball cheaply and he's being replaced by Ouch!, it looks like Lee will move into midfield.
75:11 - Jess makes a lovely pass for Harvest who has timed his run well, but the end product isn't there as the ball is sent wide of goal.
80:37 - Guinan gets past Ouch! on the counter, shoots, it's in! 0-2! The Hereford fans have gone wild! A well played counter attack, that, with a great result for the away team. Eyeson have it all to do now.
82:37 - And they might actually do it! It's 1-2 now, Harvest puts it in from a corner, this game isn't over yet!
85:18 - Another shot by Hereford but it's straight to smitten who has no problem.
85:34 - smitten boots the ball all the way up and Lee's got it, oh, he's shot and it's gone off the post!
90:00 (+1:26) - Ouch!... Lee... Jess! It's 2-2! Unbelievable, a great comeback from a team who are usually on the receiving end of such late goals. Jess is mobbed by her teammates. Lots of hugs, kisses and groping, pats on the bum, that sort of thing.
90:00 - That's it, full time! Good show.

08:36 - Boyd gets himself into a tight position but he shoots rather than crosses - denied by the post!
08:55 - It's still in the penalty area and Mackail-Smith is fed a ball which he puts into the back of the net - but he's called offside.
14:32 - Mackail-Smith shoots wide.
15:35 - Okay... that was odd. Keeper Henderson kicks the ball and Heath sends it right back at him. Ball bounces over Henderson's head, Henderson runs back to get it. Henderson runs right past ball, Jess gets ball at feed, Jess scores. 0-1. o_o Weird.

18:34 - Mackail-Smith picsk up a long ball and runs in from the left wing... strikes the ball, the ball immediately deflects slightly off Levian who had just caught up with Mackail-Smith, and it's on target, goal! Mackail-Smith scores!
20:16 - McLean with a thunderous drive from directly in front of goal just outside the area, but it flies over into the stands.
32:10 - Psychotic crosses, DK strikes, but it's safely into Henderson's chest.
37:03 - A header chance within the Eyeson penalty area, it's a goal! Lee scores!
38:57 - A great cross to the far post from Songo'o but smitten is on hand to save Boyd's tap-in.
56:22 - smitten puts a header over after that free kick.
61:18 - McLean's shot is over the bar.
67:25 - Cz tackles and it's a penalty! Mackail-Smith sets himself up for the shot...
67:55 - SAVED! smitten parries it to just outside the right post and then scrambles over to stop any further attack.
87:27 - DK sets up Jess, but Henderson charges out to block her shot. Oh, but she's got to the ball again and she's scored, fantastic kick and Eyeson are level, that's a brace for Jess!
90:00 - The referee blows the whistle for full-time and it's another 2-2 game for the Chocobos.

I stopped after I got something like eight games ahead of the thread. We never did amazingly but I never do amazingly in any league in my first season and then have a habit of getting promoted the season afterwards. We only had one big win - something like 4-0 against the Dons, I think. I can't remember exactly how things went overall, I ended up going back to the Scottish Leagues for my own game I started ages ago, where I've established myself with a national reputation after bringing Albion Rovers up from the bottom of third division through to getting promoted to the SPL. The plan after that was to get snapped up by a bigger club who can afford to do more, but I got bored and started playing other games.
