I was reading an FAQ for Dragon Warrior that detailed how your character's stats for the entire game are based on what name you give him in the beginning. See here: GameFAQs: Dragon Warrior (NES) Names/Stats/Levels FAQ by akira slime (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/file/563408/18342)
Is there anything similar in Final Fantasy I? If so, how does stat determination and stat growth work in this game?

Ah, thanks so much! Now I don't have to worry about what I name my characters. :D

Not a problem. Unlike some people here at least you thanked me.
