Mafia Rules
Unless specifically mentioned in your Assignment PMs, all Mafia related discussion must happen in the Official game thread.
Do not reveal your role privately to each other. You can of course roleclaim (http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Roleclaim) as part of your strategy in this thread. Just don't do it outside the game.
Play nice. Even if you are using second accounts, don't resort to flaming and whatnot. Kill each other without resorting to being mean.
Please make all posts in the Game thread under your specific Mafia accounts.
Play fair. Also known as the "don't be a slowpoke (ass)" rule. Being an ass includes cheating, diverging completely from your assigned role, going back and deleting or editing all your posts, using asshole-ish methods to find out information about other people's roles, etc.
Do NOT use your Mafia accounts to post in any non-Mafia related threads.
Have fun, remember, this is a game.

Having the same roles won't exactly work because you just told everyone I was not mafia.

And it really went like this. I wanted to sign up IN SECRECY because there's really like, no point in me playing this game if everyone knows I'm playing.

I told qwerty to sign me up, but when countries were assigned, he forgot about me! So I told Psy to fix it, and he added me in as an entirely new country.

Now, ed asked me if I was playing after countries were assigned. I said no, because I wasn't, since I was forgotten. He then told me he was mafia, I said wtf don't tell me. Psy gave me a country, and I told Psy that I knew.

Psy then went and told ed that I was playing, and so I was like... great, I'm a mafia target now. Then he was going to have ed recruit me, but for some fail reason ed decided to suicide instead.

Anyway, actually don't bother. I just won't play next game so you guys can keep the same roles. I was an extra unnecessary role anyway.

I disagree with the plan because the recruiter role should be used to turn someone who the town trusts to the mafia side. By doing this it kind of kills the role entirely. Might as well have just made her mafia from the start and discarded the recruiter role. Recruiter role also takes away the kill for the night.

Can't you then recruit them still? I am a bit confused on who you can and can't recruit. The other strat is to recruit the cop or doctor.

You can't recruit someone who's cult because they know who their fellow cult members are. And when recruited, you lose your power roles.

Well I guess the recruitment role is a double backfire then. If you try to recruit them but it fails then you know who to kill because you couldn't recruit them and you still...sorta win XD Recruiting the doctor or cops still has merit in that the town people trust them and they can keep acting as though they were those roles.

Only you'd have to wipe the cult leader out early because they can recruit EVERY night and cult leader serves as a cop. Chances are they'd try to recruit the doctor/cop too and when they find out that they can't, they'll know that the doctor/cop is mafia.

Well, they wouldn't have before, but they would this time since they know there's a recruiting role on the mafia side :p

Don't forget that the cult leader dies if he tries to recruit a mafia, so yeah, the whole cult would know who 1 of the mafia are, but they will never be able to recruit again since the leader is dead.

Not really. I mean, we all know Jojee is not in the mafia or the cult at the start of the game, but since there are recruiters in both alliances it is still not guaranteed that Jojee will be pro-town by the end of the game.

If the setup was different or unknown then I'd agree to the suckiness of only mixing around names.

Yes, Aerith's Knight was Japan was mafia, and yes, I think it's obvious that he was Aerith's Knight.

So what we're going to do is we're going to randomly choose someone to swap with him. Any one. It could be a townie, the cult leader, a fellow mafia - it could even be himself and he could get his old role back. I don't know.

So yeah, don't say "AERITH'S KNIGHT SPOTTED! LYNCH SCUM LYNCH!" 'cause in all probability you'd be wrong.

Basically it begins with the jokevote phase where everybody throws down votes on people for humorous reasons. Like voting for Germany because you hate bratwurst! Then you wait for someone to say something stupid and then pile onto them until they ask to be replaced.
