View Full Version : Kid wails as he loses on Halo

Topic in this thread is whether you think small children should be left to play violent video games. I personally think it depends on the individual, and if their mature enough to deal with the content within the certain game, but I guess that's why they have aging certificates. Still, creeps like this always end up exposing their little siblings to these sorts of games.

Sit down and be amazed, also watch out for that foam...

On Halo a young Scottish boy bellowed at me "I'm gonna rape your mum!" Easily the proudest moment of my gaming career. Dan was dead jealous.

Though we did have that small child who sent us a voice message apologising for his behaviour after he'd clearly been admonished and forced into it by his mother, which was quite amusing.

On Halo, I've had some guy yell "RYECHUUUU!? RYECHUUUUUUU?! YOU LIKE POKEMOOOOONN?! YOU CAN'T PLAY HALO, GO HOME!"

Then I teabagged him.

(Btw, Dan, are you gay? :aimkiss:)

Kids who throw tantrums should not play video games. Ever. It's a miracle that my brother never broke anything. Well, he and his friend did smash the Playstation with the TV, but that was an accident.

It's things like this that make me wish I could enjoy FPS games :(

I played Resident Evil when I was like, 10 - and my cousin was 5 or 6 at the time. We turned out fine. xD It probably just depends on the person. ;D

And I don't get angry over video games.

Well everytime I see I'm gonna lose I just reset my playstation and try later xD Oh well it's on youtube so whatever. Anyway I don't knwo how old the kid is, but I'll say 8/9, my sis is that age and I just give her rpgs for her to play and we're very nervous, but we can still behave we know it's just a game. :D Anywho it's the kid's parents fault :p

I constantly scream in the mic on Halo XD People always seem to forget about the mute option. Every now and then I get someone fun who will scream with me and engage in my totally retarded conversations. Magic is in the air during those rounds XD

As for the topic at hand, it depends on the game. I don't think Halo is really all that bad but I don't think I would let a kid get online with it. I can't control other people. It is like back when Mortal Kombat was coming out. Oh noes! You hit someone and blood comes out. The game will totally destroy the youth! Now no one would flinch at the game because it isn't bad. Nothing really graphic and what not about it.

Probably not, but it produces some rather hilarious results. My favorite person I've played a game of Halo with to this day was a kid named Steemin Green who would unleash a torrent of incomprehensible battle cries and guttural noises every time he started shooting someone.

I once got a voice message that was 15 seconds of the word fuck and death wishes and telling me I'm a cheater etc. It was in such a loud screech it was barely even audible. And it wasn't even over a cool game, which saddens me. I recorded it and put it on my photobucket to show everybody

If they're gonna go bananas then they shouldn't bother. If they freak out over Halo, I can't imagine how they function in real life, or will function later on.

It depends on the individual. Ratings are for the average whatever year old, but there are plenty of exceptions, so it's up to the over-protective parents to say "you can't watch 12's until you're over 21" and for the kid to secretly watch porn whilst flying helicopters into office blocks, throwing grenades out of every window and shouting "DIE YOU MOTHERFUCKERS! DIE!" when his/her parents aren't there.

That child should also show his younger siblings dad's pornos for poops and giggles, with fingers crossed that one will go up to daddy and ask "Daddy, why does this woman do this even though she doesn't seem to like it?", to which the dad will hopefully respond "What the hell kind of 3 year old speaks like that?".

Rye as stated on msn tonight I could actually kiss you (nothing serious mister milf) for reminding me of this incident pity you weren't there for the original time this got mentioned but it's brilliant fun to do to dan either way. I miss my internet connection and my days playing halo 3 online with you guys. I do however remember some brilliant comments by people against us like the:

Person who got gang teabagged: "omg are you guys just ganging up on me? That really sucks!"
Me: "No way! see! *immediately kills psy with the spiker held in hands* We're not ganging up on you!"
All of us teabagging (this means me, psy, dan, rye and milf): *laughter down the microphones with much scouting for the guy*

2 mins later he died again, we're all teabagging the hell out of him and he comes out with:

Teabaggeee: "OMFG YOU GUYS SO SERIOUSLY SUCK!"
Me: "But we're not ganging up on you, you just got owned is all."
Teabageee: *quits*
All: *amid much laughter* "what now, teabag rye? nah too easy lets go get someone else."

Or the rocket race antics where we ran after people punching them to death...best line there was:

"This guy is trying to touch me, he thinks he's like michael jackson or something I don't like it" (this actually had me in so much laughter I promptly got driven to the floor with a missile launcher tube to the face. Psy avenged me though)

On topic however, little kids should never play a game they aren't prepared to suck at. If you're going to cry because you can't win then you don't deserve to win...suck it up and get better what do you think we all did to get good at games?

I think every child should have the freedom to play any game they want as long as their parents consent to it. And if they do consent then it's nobody else's business unless that child acts like a total idiot like this kid. My cousin and my little sister act better when I house them at Halo. This boy is a little over-dramatic baby.

Oh and also, it's not easy being green. :)

As much as the kid was over reacting, the guys doing it were pretty big assholes too.

I was extremely lucky back when I played CS 1.6 and found a server where they were pretty militant about keeping people from yelling obscenities/racial slurs/being general douchebags. It made playing a lot nicer.

Games with voice communication definitely suffer when little kids start playing them.

When a battle is about to start in matchmaking in Halo, I do my very best to go after and absolutely make the round hell for:

(Priority list, there are two tied for the 2 spot)
1. People who say racial slurs
2. Kids
2. People who make fun of my gamertag (kills are often followed up by teabagging or me beating the :skull::skull::skull::skull: out of their corpse)
4. Kids
5. Anyone with a reference to weed, being a pimp or thug, or 69 in their gamertag
6. Kids.

Honestly. I hate it when kids play games that they aren't mature enough to play. It seriously pisses me off. It's rated 'M' for a reason--given, many of the players my age are very stupid as well.

Watched about 20 seconds of the video, and it seemed really dumb. :monster:

Edit: Oh, right, there was a topic. Well, things like that really are up to the parent, but from what I've seen of younger fellows playing in a competitive environment similar to that of Halo is that they become very angry individuals. It's probably a bad idea for the parent to allow their children to play an internet based game without some kind of supervision or regulation from an adult. The ESRB rating really is of much little matter in this case if you ask me. It's just the community, and the fact that the child can meet people the parent may not want them to meet.

This vid is representative of XBox gamers...

j/p

I don't think this raised a question of kids being able to play video games or be able to play online. The older brother and girl-voiced kid on the camera were obviously antagonising him, the kid said in the beginning that they force him to play, etc. PLus they forced him to get taped when he obviously didn't want them to.

LOL and what was up with the part where he slowly looks towards the camera, then there's this crash and he's laying on the floor holding his stomache. the video was funny at times, even as a whole, i'll admit.

but seriously, this is an example of when young adults act like douchebags to little tykes. They could've let him win a few rounds, or they obviously don't know anything about children and how they react. Or maybe they do and they just did this to be pricks.

Yeah, they do. It's Momijitsuki (pronounced "Mow-mee-jit-suki") and when a match is about to start, it's common for some douchebag to call me 'Mommy' (ala GoBo) or 'Mommyjutsu' or something. It isn't THAT hard to pronounce. I find names like sMoKeWeEdPiMpG66669 or myBALLSurFACE (never seen those names before, but it's rather common to see similar ones) to be much stupider.

Uh, no. This is an example WHY kids should not be playing games that are more mature for their age. At that age, kids should be playing games like Super Mario Bros. or something similar. I disagree when people say violent games make kids violent, but in many cases, it turns them into whiny little brats.

How can you keep your temper when your older siblings are recording you with the clear intentions of upsetting you?

Of course, I watched about 20 seconds. I should go back and watch the whole thing before I actually discuss this.

Edit: Well, I guess they weren't being that mean, but no need to force him to play. It seemed like the bet was that if the kid were to win, he'd stop making fun of him, or something like that. Still, they were being mean, and the kid was STILL overreacting, but I really think the older siblings had some kind of lesson in mind for him, and they were just being asses about it.

I think its more mature to be an annoying little sibling than to be an older sibling who is purposely being an ass. Maybe neither of them should be playing video games.

Quindiana Jones
02-23-2008, 10:39 PM
The kid needs to stop being such a cry baby and suck it, and his (assumed) brothers need to stop mocking him for sucking so much. Practice makes perfect, but the "practice" of getting your ass handed to you multiple times by your brothers is useless. I never bother with multiplayer until I've completed single.

On a different note, my proudest ever Halo Multiplayer moment was when I shot a guy in the head with a sniper, as he was trying to run down my mate in a Warthog. I then proceeded to shoot my friend in the head too, whilst he was jumping. It was a total fluke for me to use 2 shots to kill 2 moving targets like that, but I'm still proud of it.

It seemed like the bet was that if the kid were to win, he'd stop making fun of him, or something like that.

What I gathered, was that the older guy promised that if the kid won, he could play the Xbox. Obviously, it was just a way into getting him to play - and there was no chance of him actually winning the bet; so he wouldn't get to play the Xbox. Maybe the kid would actually get good at the game if his brother would actually let him play it, without some bet on whether he could play or not.

I'd definitely put a lot of the blame on the older brother. :p If that kind of thing happened often to me, I'd probably get angry and tearful.

Kentarou summed up what I had to say, but honestly:

Halo is a mature video game? The mode they played was no more mature than Star Wars, I don't think the kid would have had a different reaction if they were forcing him to play Super Mario versus mode so they could constantly put him down by giving him no chance.

I'm talking about the ESRB rating. They don't just put them there for no reason.

True, he would probably act the same way regardless, but maybe he had it coming. Upon watching it again, I'm assuming he lost his temper at the siblings and broke a lamp, and now the siblings are using it against him by giving him a chance to redeem himself in a game of Halo, where he again loses his temper.

And wtf was up with the whole 'green green green green green green' thing?

KentaRawr!
02-25-2008, 12:16 AM
The reason the ESRB exists is to give a recommendation to parents for what ages a child should play a Video Game based upon the suggestive and violent themes in the game, not because the ESRB plays Halo online and doesn't want to play with little tykes.
