It's coming.

Official Persona 3 FES Website (http://www.atlus.com/persona3/home.html)

They're only charging $30 for it, which leads me to believe that this is the 'Append (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-1u6b-71-43-77-b-49-en-15-persona-84-j-70-1s2b.html)' version of the game that requires a full copy of Persona 3 (original) to run.

I need to finish P3...though I must admit that it's one of the RPGs that I've made the most progress in.

Ok, that most definitely is on my "To buy" list now, since I managed to beat P3 before the anime debuted, as was my original goal.

I've seen a (http://www.rpgfan.com/news/2008/1060.html) few (http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q1-2008/022508a.html) sites report that this is the full version that includes the upgraded copy of Persona 3. They're just selling it at a very reasonable price, for whatever reason (probably to give people incentive to buy the same game again).

Yes! I'm gonna preorder it Wendseday! I'm gonna have everyone run around as maids. Or this. (http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k273/AKA_Gluttony/huhwaitwut.jpg)

Ah, I thought it would be a little weird for them to just release the 'Append' version on its own, since I'm sure that would limit their sales beyond the traditional niche.

I hope I won't have to play through the whole game again just to get to the FES content though.

Edit: Holy freakin' Mitsuru

I foresaw this news long before its official announcement. I recall seeing voice actors for the game detailing their work on it in their portfolios before the announcement was made, and Atlas would not waste resources for a localization that would not be used.

I can play through the game after I get this expansion pack, at least...

There is a god... Seriously, P3 has been one of the best RPGs I've played in years and to have the expansion come out and makes me happy. Thank you Atlus, you've proven once again why I love you...

What are the differences?

From Wikipedia

FES, in addition to adding a great deal of content (both game play and storyline-related) to the main game, includes a continuation of the story entitled Episode Aegis, totaling for an extra thirty hours of game time. When starting a new game, the player is prompted to select Episode Yourself (known as "The Journey" in the US version) or the aforementioned Episode Aegis. Episode Yourself is the original game with added quests and events, whereas Episode Aegis (known as "The Answer" in the US version) can be considered a sequel, featuring Aegis as the main character, and the true ending. FES also contains extra costumes and a new weapon synthesis system, twenty-three more Persona, and a "hard" difficulty setting (the original Persona 3 came available with only Easy and Normal modes).

So... maybe I should just wait for FES and start P3 all over, since they're adding stuff to the main game as well.

I'm happy that FES is being released, but also disappointed...since I just recently completed the original P3. Aigis's story should be interesting however, and hopefully give some answers on what exactly happens during the ending (which was a bit confusing before reading up on it).

Apparently you can carry over certain data to FES with an original P3 save, but the Persona in the compendium revert to their default stats and movesets, which kinda sucks alot.

I am in the same situation, JKTrix. I will likely just start a new game to access the new main game content, but, at the same time, I am wondering why I bought the game in the first place if I knew that the expansion pack was going to come out...

I believe that when they rerelease a game in Japan — especially if they add content from the North American localization — they call it things like the International Version or the Complete Verison. I think that, in localization, it has been referred to an expansion pack by Atlas, so that is the terminology that I will use.

Aigis's story should be interesting however, and hopefully give some answers on what exactly happens during the ending (which was a bit confusing before reading up on it).

Yes. Episode Aigis is designed to answer to players with those questions in mind.

I still don't know if you need the original games to play FES (:p ) but I'm glad I haven't bought it just yet. Still one of those games "must play before I turn forty." Can't wait.

I've more or less finished my replay of persona 3 sometime last month and thought that'd be the last I hear of it for a while (the anime hasn't successfully captured my interest yet). This was the best news I heard all week.
