Have you noticed that ever since 300 more and more movies have been doing there own "This...is...SPARTAAAAAA!" thing? Like in Beowulf or some trailer I just were some guy shouted something similar. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to it.

Lol, I'm with Roto. I'm pretty sure 300 got it from some where else. Now, I do think 300 made movie makers more aware of such a line though...

I thought they did it in movies before 300? :pIndeed they did. Some of the earliest written versions of Beowulf, for instance, include the line "I am (called) Beowulf", or variations on that.

In Metal Gear Solid 3, nearly every 'boss' character announces their name in the same way:

"I am... The PAIN!"

"It is time for you... to feel The Fear!"

"I... am... The End!"

...and so on. All 300 did was take this turn of phrase and make it into something that has since become a temporary internet fad.

If you ever get the chance to see it Beowulf's trailer is so much funnier in french. "C'est Moi, ...BEOWULF"
