Let's talk about our Xbox's in this thread, and I swear, if someone spouts "PS3 > 360 LoLLLL", I'll headbutt them in the ovaries.

I'm still waiting for mine to break, which is inevitable.

Sorry about yours, dude. :(

My brother's broke, sent it off to be repaired, couldn't be bothered waiting and bought another. We now have two 360s.
I'm not sure why we need two.

My disc drive has been making terrible noises for well over a year, so when it finally dies I probably won't be able to get it fixed free, since it won't be Red Ringed. Good luck with customer support and waiting 2-3 weeks.

Why would you start this thread in The Lounge? *moves*

I don't have a 360 so yes, my PS3 is better. :cat:

Fuck, my friend sent his in, waited 30 days, got it back and it froze up before every game.

A Viking Funeral will be held in my 360's honor.

How do you know PS3 is better if you don't even have a 360? :dog:

Anywayz, sometimes consoles break because people don't follow the instructions when it says to put it in a well ventilated area and not in a place where it can accidentally fall. People also need to dust it off from time to time as the dust can block the ventilation. Also, don't beat the crap out of it after losing a game. These are steps you can take to prevent your console from breaking. Thank you and have a nice day. ~Bill Gates

I do all of those things :( Mine isn't making noises or anything yet, that's a good sign. But I use it way too much for it not to break. I'll probably burn through 10 of them before the XboxAlgebra gets here.

Yeah, the CD drive in ours messed up a month after we got ours, so while we send the original one in (it's an XBox 360 Elite), we bought a XBox 360 Arcade as a backup, and just used our 120 GB hard drive on it. Once the Elite comes back, I'm buying the Arcade one from my dad and taking it to my mom's house, so I can play there as well.

That, or it could just be that nifty 100% fail rate there smart-ass.* :monster:

I got the damn thing 2 years ago, so it had a decent run I suppose. :mog:

*I kept the damn thing well ventilated, and would occasionally blow out the dust out from the back.

Xboxes break at random. There's not a lot you can do to prevent it.

If you wrap a red ringed Xbox 360 in towels, it gets so hot it ends up melting some stuff back into place. It's a temporary fix, though. xP

Holy crap. o_o Well, if that's how he did it, then the next thing you should do is put it in a freezer, so it stays in place.

Seconded.
I curse anyone who disagrees with the RED RING OF DOOM!!!! Even though it's technically a 3/4 ring. meh. FOr the melting thing, pretty random whether it works or not, if it works, you have it sorted for a while, if it fails, you've basically smurfed it up beyond repair.
The Wii doesn't overheat, it doesn't freeze, unless you do something really stupid, and it glows blue if you want, which is far supirior to Green/Red.

And PS3s are PS2s with better graphics, and as such, will have mediocre games and every 2 years 1/2 decent games will be realesed, the next 2 are FFXIII/Versus and the next one will be KH3

Anyway I haven't had any problems with my 360 yet.

I personally know a guy who has two 360s so he always has one to play with when the other one is broken. Apparently the first models were very, very unreliable, and the new ones are little better. Luckily for me there are veeery few interesting games that are not multi-platform there.

I bought my 360 a little over a week ago. So here's hoping nothing bad happens to it anytime soon.

i got real pissed when mine broke *I HATE YOU RED RING OF DEATH* i called the number, sent it out, and waited. it was the longest three to five weeks of my life. now, my new is starting to act up, so most likely i gonna have to send it out again, the stupid thing is that i was extremely careful with it, so no matter how new it is, it will inevitably stop working

You should play it while it's in your freezer. Can't overheat then.

Why not cool it down by splashing it with some water? :D
