well heres the thing, my disk 3 is snapped, dont ask me how as I dont rightly know so my question's to you is this: do you 1 have a spare PAL disk 3. 2 would you consider selling it to me and 3 do you live in the UK? no point mailing it all the way over from america as you guys are on NTSC thanks in advance for any reply's.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new copy of FFIX?

1. that would just be transferring the problem to another person, if he was willing to sell it
2. wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to dl disc 3, copy the savegame off of your memory, play it on ePSXe, and transferring the disc 4 savegame back to the PS1?

I would recommend purchasing a used copy of the game or emulation. I do not think that you would find many buyers willing to part with only one disk of their game, and I think that you would probably have to pay more than you thought you would, too.

You'd be better off looking on Ebay and buying the game once again. It's pretty hard to find, so I doubt anyone will be willing to part with disc 3 - since they'll be left without it. >_>

And the chances of that are....

Emulation is legal if you own the game, maybe you should try it :D?

...of course it's just not the same as playing it on the console it's meant for ; ;

I have a similar problem, actually. I've gone through three FF9 games since the game first came out, and because I've played it so much the discs got scratched and worn down. -_-

So, Ebay is probably really the best chance if you want to replace the game. Besides, at least you'll have spare discs in case the other three go wrong. :P

I doubt that you will find someone with a spare copy of Disk 3; furthermore, I doubt that you will find someone with a spare copy of the game on this forum.

That is a complicated process. You must have a third party peripheral like DexDrive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DexDrive) to import the memory card data to the computer, then utilize a third party software which converts memory card data into various formats (http://www.aldostools.com/memcards.html). I do not think that it is worth it, personally.

My disk 2 broke once. :(
I just had to borrow it off one of my friends and give it back when I was done with it.

Not sure about the UK, but Australia uses PAL too and the game is pretty cheap here.

I've looked on ebay for FFIX and in Australia it is not cheap. All of the listings are at least $50. I've seen ones up for $80-$100.

And yes, the UK does use PAL (my copy of X is from the UK).

I looked on ebay.co.uk and the copies of FFIX are significantly cheaper than the Australian ones, so you probably would be well off just buying a new copy of the game unless you have a friend with a disc 3 to lend you.

Greatest Hits or Platinum will be much cheaper. :)

I just search "Final fantasy ix" or "final fantasy 9" and it shows the platinum ones too. Like I said the minimum is about $40-50

Indeed.

I ended up getting FFIX 3 years ago at the store for about 20 dollars, and it wasn't GH or Platinum, at least I don't think so.
