Anyone excited for it?
I cross my fingers it gets released on PAL territories...

Looks like the PS2 is still alive and kicking.:)

Of course it is, as long as it sells so well. :P
Plus, developing a game for the PS2 is definitely much simpler, and involves less expenses, than any PS3 game, so it is convenient for the developers.

Then again, the game is being published by Atlus, a relatively small company without a ton of expenses to spare, especially to spare on fluff like this (http://www.atlus.com/arcanaheart/).

Wow-ee it's adorable.

I could see NeoCracker having this in his gaming inventory for some reason. :p

Play-Asia was selling this game for $30 (which was half of what it was usually going for) and I bought it. The VERY NEXT DAY (shortly after my shipping confirmation), I find that Atlus goes and announces it for US release, and for the same price. I was upset and happy at the same time.

Another year, another 'we license it after you import it' deal. Last year was Gundam Musou a.k.a. Dynasty Warriors Gundam, a game I wouldn't have normally bought but I didn't have anything else for the PS3 at the time to play. Then I find out less than a month later that it was coming out not only in English, but on the 360 too. I didn't buy it again.

I had played Arcana Heart before, and it's definitely a worthwhile fighter. The all-girl cast really put me off when I first saw it (I have ingrained moe repellent), but after seeing some gameplay videos and reading some discussion about it--and seeing it for $30 instead of $60--I went ahead and bought it. I like it quite a bit, it's definitely unique. I guess I'll buy it in English so I can really understand what's going on.

First off, WTF? I ran a thread search looking for an Arcana Heart thread and nothing. Yet my thread gets closed cause this one exists. Seriously, WTF?

And hells yeah I will. It's Atlus, AND a fighting game.

The Japanese arcade version has great music for the intro!

Just watch all of the video, the song rules!

The part starting at 31 seconds rules! :p

No Idea, all I know is this game sucks.

Traded it in about 2 hours after I bought it :(

Atlus shouldn't be allowed to make any more fighting games.

^Care to elaborate a bit more?

1) For most of the characters, their attacks are rather redundant. In example, the little girl bent on world domination. All of her attacks are a slime forming fists and feet punching things. The chick with a sword does virtually nothing but sword slashes. Ect, ect.

2) There really aren't all that many moves for a fighting game. Around 8 moves a character.

3) Even with the Arcana's, the characters playstyle doesn't change all that much. So you basically have 11 characters only, with limited customablity compared to what they make it sound.

4) There really isn't anything new about this game, making it just some lame, uneventful fighter.

Hmm,i see.:cry:Oh well,it will probably never be released in Europe (PAL) so maybe it's not that big of a loss...

I like this game. Certainly no Street Fighter, but I really wasn't expecting something to compete with that anyway.

I should point out that 'Atlus' didn't make/develop this game, they published it. Atlus doesn't make a lot of the games they sell. That would be like faulting NIS for making Atelier Iris 3. They didn't make the Atlier or Ar Tonelico (or Mana Khemia) series, they published it.

I won't rail on you for spending less than 2 hours with it. If a game doesn't click with you, it just doesn't click. I personally don't like Melty Blood at all (which I would put in the same category of fighter as Arcana Heart), even after I put a lot of time into it. I don't particularly like Guilty Gear or Tekken's style of gameplay either.

Arcana Heart doesn't suck. I wouldn't go into the game looking for a replacement to your favourite 2D fighter, but for something different. I don't think I'd recommend it to a not-so-hardcore fighter fan who intends to play it by themself. Fighting games are best with 2 humans, and the AI in this game (at least my Japanese version) is pretty unbalanced in terms of difficulty.

I picked it up yesterday and I'm quite pleased with it. The combat's satisfying and runs smoothly, and it's interesting to see how each Arcana plays with each character.

Though, they really ranked up the difficulty on that last fight in Story Mode....
