Yes, I am making a thread on one single tune from a game. But if any tune deserved this honour its this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J67nkzoJ_2M&feature=related).

Ive never actually played Donkey Kong Country 2 (should I be condemned?) and in all honesty, I dont plan to anytime soon. But im now very intrigued into this games soundtrack. From what Ive read on the web the whole series is meant to have a fantastic soundtrack. So I want just general opinions on this series music and maybe some recommendations as well. Ive once again become wrapped up in my obsession with Video game music.

EDIT: Oh, and the Brawl remix of Stickerbrush Symphony is awful. It just makes me want to listen to the original again.

The Donkey Kong Country series is known for its ambient soundtrack. The video game community honored David Wise, Eveline Fischer, and Robin Beanland, composers that worked on the series, with a remix album called Kong In Concert (http://dkcproject.ocremix.org/).

This song is really pretty neat. It sounds like a Chrono Trigger song to me for some reason. Maybe I'm just warped by fan bias at this point.

The first two Donkey Kong Countrys in particular have excellent music. Even if you don't want to play the games, you should really listen to their entire soundtracks.

Ah hell, just play DKC2. It's a very challenging sidescroller that'll frustrate the crap outta ya and make your thumbs bleed. I don't care how you play it, you just have to. DKC1 is a decent game in itself but, unfortunately, too easy.

Yup yup :D!

DK3 has my favorite of the Ambient ones (The theme that plays underwater)... DK2 has a brilliant Soundtrack :D!
