What video game characters could beat Sephiroth?

So, who's mighty enough to beat Sephiroth?

I'm going to go with "a whole hell of a lot of them." What game and genre are we talking about? I could make a laundry list if I wanted to.

Well, created characters of some sort really wouldn't be fair, since their level of ass-kicking-ness is a variable. A character who is only seen in regular gameplay would be tough to make out depending on the game. Really what I'm looking for here are characters that are comparable to Sephiroth in a way, whom appear in similar cut-scenes and so such as he, rather than characters that end up in entirely different situations. For example, I could say Master Chief could beat Sephiroth with a huge ass bomb, but then I could say Sephiroth could beat Master Chief by slicing him in half. They must be comparable.

We'll start with Laharl then. He can wipe out an entire fleet of top-of-the-line human battleships in a few seconds. By himself. And thus, by extension, so could, for example, Zetta or Gig.

I could imagine scenarios in which most characters could beat Sephiroth. They're all fictional, after all. As long as it's kept basically plausible, the outcome will be whatever the writer chooses.

In all seriousness, someone who's been in similar situations: Cain and Lemon (Red Baron) from Shining Force I & II respectively. Both legendary soldiers of the not so good guys. I think each of them would be a good battle.

Any Fire Emblem character could too. I'll expand it to say the entire roster of Smash Bros Brawl could beat Sephiroth, which is one of many reasons he's not in the game, he'd just suck too much!
