Which do you prefer? Fruits or Vegetables?

I generally prefer vegetables over fruits, but I do so like bananas and strawberries.

Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, watermelon > Carrots (the only vegetable I like and will go out of my way to eat.)

I enjoy drinking fruit juice (mostly because I am terribly selective in what fruits I like, those being only citrus, kiwi fruits, and tomatoes), but find eating vegetables much more enjoyable than fruits (there are no vegetables I do not eat).

The only time there is any contest is when it comes to grapefruits and tomatoes.

Of course, it's usually packed with carbs. But they're good carbs.

I'm not a big fan of traditional veg, but I do like the Mediterranean stuff.

I don't understand why anyone could refer to them as a vegetable. They grow on stalks, they have seeds, they are juicy... They are fruit. It might be because they are often used in savoury meals like pasta, pizza, etc.

I've also heard that strawberries are vegetables because they have their seeds on the outside :confused:

and I've never quite been sure about peppers, which are DELICIOUSSS.

A fruit, to put it simply, is a ripe ovary of a flowering plant that contains the seed(s).

Did some background check since I long ago sold off my Bio text book. According to Wiki, a bell pepper is botanically a fruit. :O Who've thunk it?

Since a potato is actually a tuber or root not a vegetable (I seem to recall this from a gardening program I once saw) you'd still get crisps. I would say I love both equally, I like sweet sugary things which means fruits are definitely for me. Nothing so sweet as fresh grapes or lychee. But I like the versatility and stability of veg. I mean you can make almost anything involve veg and it works...not to mention bubble and squeak (cold green veg and potatoes mashed together then fried in a dry pan so as to make a crispy outside. Often served with cold meats/ham/steak/salad) is like my favourite dish to have on boxing day :)

I can't really decide between the two. I love both very much and equally I guess. Some fruits are better than some vegetables, and some vegetables are better than some fruits.. that's just how it is.
