No, absolutely not. The whole point of Guitar Hero is the whole guitar peripheral. This completely misses the point.

I'm in complete agreement here. One of the biggest reasons I like playing Guitar Hero is I can bounce around the room and make a complete ass of myself wailing on the guitar.

I'll assume it's the same video that IGN has here (weird, YouTube is blocked, but not IGN)

IGN: Exclusive Reveal: Guitar Hero DS (http://ds.ign.com/articles/860/860511p1.html)

I agree with what you guys have said, this isn't a proper substitute. I've heard about this game for a little while though, and it's interesting to see what they came up with. But, that ain't a guitar.

It could still be fun because it's still a rhythm game, but it's definitely a way watered down version of the other Guitar Hero games.

Sorry Activision, but this cow has been sucked dry.

If it's any consolation, apparently the DS version makes you look like even more of an ass.

It's not the same D:...

But I do think it's funny how they're having a blast ^_^

The song choice seems off too. There are so many other songs they could have used which are more "rockin'".

I was wondering when that was going to happen. Its available on cell phones too

This is a terrible idea. :(

Huh.

I'll stick with the regular console, thanks.

An interesting idea to turn it portable, but I doubt many long-time fans will really like the new peripheral.

So it'll attract new fans, then.

I haven't played any of the previous Guitar Hero's and it does look fun. So, I'd play it.

Well, I for one am excited :D And it has Ok Go!

I love normal guitar hero and fair enough this won't be the same, but I think it's gonna be a pretty awesome rhythm game for the DS in it's own right. (well, I'd hope). The peripheral looks crazy but..it could be fun xD And it means when I'm away from home I won't have to miss out on GH :)

I definately wanna give it a try ;_;

It looks like complete crap. And the people in the ad make it look even worse.

Now you can make a complete ass of yourself bouncing around outside and picking a touch screen!

My opinion: no thanks. It looks like they're overreaching now. Then again, they did make an Aerosmith themed game alone. If that doesn't scream 'We're out of good ideas!', this certainly does.

What the hell. It keeps getting worse as you keep watching it.

The game looks a little more entertaining than some of the other trailers I've seen.

What bothers me is that they are trying to make fun of the singer rocking out when he comments on what's going on in the game but they're actually serious with him rocking out (if that makes sense).

I'm all for good parodies (this reminds me a little of those old CROSSFAIYA commercials), but it seems like they overplayed it a bit. I laughed at first, but then I was a little disgusted.

wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle...yeah.

Also, the DS itself seemed to want to die (battery was low).

I honestly don't know what to think about that.

omp that guy xD

I think it's clever that they use the ds functionality to make up for the lack of uh, guitar!

That demo would have been ultimate win if they'd got someone like Jack Black to do the singing.

xD That commercial was awesome! It reminds me of the Gieco commercial with Little Richie.

i think the song choice is probably suitable, because it will be hard to play stuff like Knights Of Cydonia, with the strum bar mashing, with the plec controller

Curiosity got the better of me. Saw it on the shelf and picked it up.

Certainly not bad, but definitely cramped for me on the DS lite. My fingers are pretty long, and I'm not used to using my pinkie in GH (suffered an injury long ago, so using it for GH agitates it) so it is rather uncomfortable, especially with the strap on. It's a little better without the strap, but you lose the stability which is surprisingly effective.

If I can dig out my original DS from wherever it is, I'll try it out again since it will probably fare better. The GBA-slot guitar grip actually comes with an 'extra' slot that you can replace if you're using the old DS, so it doesn't stick out any more than it has to on the lite.

Overall, 'not bad'. I only played the first 5 songs on medium but it was basically what I expected, GH cramped on a small screen. I probably wouldn't personally recommend it when there is a superior (if moderately inacessible) rhythm game (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-1u6b-71-9g-49-en-84-j-70-2olk.html) for the DS coming out in a few days, but I certainly wouldn't argue against it if one was looking for it.

Honestly, this one astounded me.
Props to Nintendo and Activision for the peripheral, but i prefer the older and more powerful cousins.
Still, it looks pretty cool.

I've heard it's actually not bad. Not nearly as good as a regular Guitar Hero game, but a lot of fun if you're on the go. Better than that stupid cell phone game.

I'm probably going to get this just so I can have guitar hero when I leabe the home. This surely would be fun on the bus ride to school.
EDIT Wtf I just went to best buy to get it and the guy said it'll come out tommorrow and my friend said he got it...
