I am playing FF-I (Origins) for the first time, and I have now just done the class upgrade and my party is at level 21. It seems to me it wil take ages before I have enough Gil to buy all the lvl 7 and 8 magic available, not to mention the weapons and stuff.

This might be blasphemic, but I find grinding slightly boring in this game, and would like to just do what I have to do to finish the game. So I was wondering what weapons, armour, magic and levels that I should have to not make the last boss (and the way up to the last boss) too difficult? My party is Knight, Red Wizard, Master and White Wizard.

You should focus of trying to get Excalibur for your Knight and a Masamune for your Red Wizard, which can be both be found in the Temple of Chaos. And getting Life 2 and Nullall for your White Wizard is also a must. As for armor, just do your best in trying to purchase your best armor.

Thanks. What about level? I read from a faq that level 35 is recommended?

Excalibur can can't be found in the Temple of Chaos
It is found on the Flying Temple (the one with Tiamat) You need to find the Amadamint(?) and go to the Dwarf smith in the caves (where that dwarf made the "canal" using your Bomb Powder)

It's not really nessassary to level past 50, 35 on up is good enough to stay alive

Meh you can beat the game at late 20's early 30's. Heck people play solo games and beat it before even hitting level 20 somehow.

If your 30+ with good gear you should be set.

Funny, your party is exactly the same as mine first time through. The only thing that matters when going through the Temple of Chaos is that your party is above Lv 30. I entered with my Lv 23 party and got fried by the time I reached the third floor. Make sure that your Knight has Excalibur and that your party is equipped with Ribbons and Protect Rings. I'd recommend your White Wizard to have NulAll. Once you're in, look for the Masamune. Once you've done that, you're ready to take on Chaos.

My White Wizard has NulAll and Cure4. I have done the Mirage Tower and am now at level 27/28. I also have two Ribbons and four Protect Rings, and have bought most of the high level spells I can have without having a Black Wizard.

Guess all that's left is a bit more levelling, then.
