Of all of the summons in all of the Final Fantasy series,
Which do you think is the greatest?

I have to say Knights of the Round(FF7), come on, 70K damage per casting. Enough said.

Anima outclasses KotR hard. With 16 hits x99999, that's more than enough to kill anything except the FFX uberbosses. Sure they are different battle mechanics, game-wise, but in terms of pure damage, not much can outshine Anima.

I like Bahamut from FFX and IIIj the best.

Of course Knights of the Round, apparently one of the few things the ps3 can't handle.

I liked Odin from VII, too, both animations. Gilgamesh in VIII, cause you never knew what you were gonna get. Even though he sucks before his final attack, Zalera's ending animation is pretty cool and useful in the right situations.

Neo Bahamut it looked so cool in Final Fantasy VII and its Flare technique is so cool.

I really liked how Bahamut was in FFIX, he looked so badass with the 3 horns on his head, and the scene with him attacking Alexandria and seeing him with his body awashed in the glow of the fire as he hovered over the destruction he caused was awesome.

Odin also looked pretty damn awesome in the scene he destroyed the Tree City.

I was pretty impressed with Ultima in ff12; she just kinda goes 'pow pow pow pow zap' and kills everything :exdee:

I also loved yojimbo in ffx. he had the best summoning animation of any of them imo.

Alexander was pretty cool too, especially in ff9!(the like one time you see him). ANGELROBOT-GO

Yes, I'm well aware of that. However, I was responding to the OP's statement of 70k damage with KotR and providing evidence that it is not the most damaging summon. Even Anima hitting once at full stats supercedes KotR.

I've always like the Bahamut summons, particularly its FFIX incarnation. Not only brilliant in the FMV fights against Brahne and Alexander, but just the general run of the mill battle one as well. Outside of Bahamut, I've always simply loved the Leviathan summon - particularly its FFVIII animation. Special mentions go to Alexander, Valefor and Eden though.

I love renaming her in FFVIII. They've got mIlK?? She was always my strongest Aeon in FFX (Well, of the first four).

Though of all of them....the Magus Sisters, Anima, and Eden. (Maybe they were just overpowered in FFX xD)

Syldra in V was often more useful than Bahamut, who pretty much holds the monopoly over the "most kickass summon" title. Odin, however, is the most badass for me mainly due to his presentation and mythical significance.

Anima has striking similarities to the evil spirit that attacks the family in the Poltergeist movies, and that amuses me to no end. XD

Anima also reminds me of Unit 01 with the armor off. She also looks like a collaboration between Clive Barker and H.R. Gieger. That's just too much coolness!

NOBODY mentioned Ifrit?! sure, he's not the best of them, but he's been in almost all (if not, all) the final fantasies...SOMEBODY's gotta like him a lot :P also, to clear things up, the FFVII summon is called 'Knights of Round' not 'Knights of THE Round', so when abbreviated it should read 'KoR' ok? :D

but on this topic, my favourite would probably be bahamut in general, but because everybody's choosing him, i'll go with jumbo cactuar...he was just plain funny (and sorta reminds me of captain falcon :p ....you know, like, the way he moves?...am i right guys?....guys?....:()
