Which scenes in the FF series just made you want to go "you just got owned!"? If you need a definition of Owned, seek it somewhere else because I can't really define it. =P

Honourable mentions:
Auron's 'introduction' during the Luca Blitzball tournament in FFX. People are running and screaming; he calmly strides up to the 20 foot, four-eyed beast and fells it with one swipe. A very nonchalant, and rather badass, piece of ownage.

Then there's the scene in FFXII when Fran, in a Mist-fuelled frenzy, flips out and kicks the snot out of several Archadian guards despite being in handcuffs.

From a fanboyish perspective, my favourite instance of FF ownage would be the final confrontation in FFVII, when Cloud uses Omnislash against Sephiroth, venting years of pent-up fury and injustice in 13 blows against his nemesis.

...but if we're talking about things that always happen, I'd say Seifer vs. Odin or Palmer vs. Truck. Also Aeris getting stabbed in the back with that "Yeah, Cloud's here, everything's gonna be okay" look on her face.

See, I don't consider that, or several other scenes/events listed in this thread, as 'ownage' (or however you would use the word :)). I consider being owned when one uses little effort in a quick, simple action to create a powerful impact. If Quistis had fired one shot that dropped the spider cold, then she would have owned it. The fact that she fired several dozen rounds, and the spider still came on while being fired at, doesn't amount to much 'ownage' in my opinion.

That's why scenes/events like Palmer getting hit by the truck, Edea hitting Squall with the ice spear and Toneberries (one knife poke and you're screwed) are loaded with 'ownage' in my opinion. They involve one simple, quick action that has a devestating/powerful effect.

At the start of the GBA FFII, the first battle against the 4 black riders...it's scripted so that Maria's attacker always misses...it is so funny...

back on topic, one ownage I remember was when you first meet Rydia in FF 4 and she summons Titan that basically demolishes Kain and Cecil. More recently, in FF XII Zodiark's Final Eclipse makes for a good ownage sequence.

In Crisis Core, I was in the boss fight against Bahamut when the DMV accessed Tonberry. For those who don't know, the Tonberry summon has the Tonberry trying to shank Zack but then the Tonberry trips on a rock and the knife flies out of his hand and over Zack's head, eventually hitting one of the enemies for a :skull::skull::skull::skull: load of damage. This happened in my fight with Bahamut and ended up being the moved that finished off the "God of Summons". I laughed hard for a good ten minutes after that...:D

My guess is because the havoc they wreck isn't unexpected. Anima slaying dozens of monsters in the Blitzball arena or Sin leveling a village are awesome to behold but unsurprising.

FF6 = Shadow when he jumps in while Kefka is moving the statues

FF7 = The level 1 vs emerald fight

FF8 = squall and siefer hitting each other in the faces with gunblades

FF9 = beatrex

FF10 = Sin destroying towns

FF11 = elementals

FF12 = hitting a boss with like 20 limit breaks
