I was just wondering what everyone’s favourite Star Wars film is? for me it has to be one of the originals because i watched them when i was a kid and I think the acting was better, back then i probably would of said Return Of The Jedi but now The Empire Strikes Back is my favourite then Jedi followed by A New Hope. With the new films i think Lucas went a bit crazy with the graphics but i quite liked episode one and Revenge Of The Sith wasn’t too bad either, please vote and discus

Episode VI and Episode I are my favorites; I really like the battle between Ewoks and Storm Troopers and Luke's duel with Vader. Poor little Yoda forever sleeps, though. =(

Empire. The next favorite is probably episode 2 though, because Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan is like a dream. A sexy sexy dream.

Anyone who doesn't say Empire Strikes Back clearly needs to be frozen in carbonite.

I think A New Hope and Return of the Jedi are both pretty close in terms of quality, but it'll always be Empire Strikes Back that wins it for me. I love the very real struggle of the Rebellion against the superior Empire, I love the development of Han and Leia and there's just so many great bits. Oh and Darth Vader gets lots of screen time which is a definite plus as far as I'm concerned.

As I grow older, I find myself attracted more and more to the original. But epIII was amazing.

Empire, everyone knows it, not just for epic spoilers, but for great justice. 1-3 are a joke.

Ouch!

I used to love RotJ most, but Empire has grown on me.

The Empire Strikes Back for me. :p

It has the best score in the series (seriously, you can't go wrong with introduction of such themes such as "Han Solo and the Princess", "Yoda's Theme" and the "Imperial March" among others) which manages to elevate the film into a totally new level.

The triangle drama is commendable, and the growing relationship between Han and Leia is quite bittersweet and gets a dark turn of events late in the film with the heartbreaking carbonite chamber scene. The battle and chase scenes are memorable, such as the Battle of Hoth, the asteroid chase and the duel between Luke and Vader. The duel in particular contains one of the most shocking twists ever in film history, and overall its both intense and emotionally gripping as both a physical and emotional struggle.

The special effects look neat and still don't look that dated and instead help to carry the plot along, and a big thanks goes to director Irwin Kershner who wanted to emphasize this aspect. The dialogue is quite sharp and full of memorable lines, and the actors do a great job in their roles. The characters themselves are great, and I like how Vader gets more screentime and is an all-around badass in the film. The introduction of new characters such as Yoda, Boba Fett and Lando is great, and they add depth to the plot. As for the plot, it works quite well as it portrays a very dark chapter in the saga's history, and it's among the darkest and most mature of the Star Wars films.

I guess I could go on and on about the film's strengths, but I'll stop here. In any case I consider The Empire Strikes Back to be the best Star Wars film to date because of the many reasons I mentioned earlier. It works in so many levels that it becomes a good film on its own right. :)

It was such a hard decision for me. it was between the golden oldbies: Star Wars A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. I love all of them but I chose A New Hope because I love it when Luke first meets Princess Leia and just love it the most. When I was younger my big sister would read me the star wars books and we actually knew all the history of Anakin before the new Star Wars movies came out. ^__^

I picked Revenge of the Sith. It had a few gimmicky moments as most the new Star Wars movies had, but I really enjoyed the final fight they had between Anikin and Obi Wan, and Yoda and Palpatine. It was quite an epic fight, and really well built up I thought when Palpatine revealed his true identity and destroyed the Jedi. The whole movie, getting to see the birth of the Empire and fall of the Republic was really interesting to see how it all unfolded.

Empire Strikes Back has some of the best character interaction ever. If anyone doesn't answer Empire, they need to go back and watch it again because they missed something. It is an incredible film.

Personally, I think The Empire Strikes Back is the best one. It was tough to choose between the six of them, since I liked each one of them.

Part of the reason I picked Empire? The most shocking quote in movie history: "No, I am your father!"

"Obi-Wan never told you about your father."

"He told me enough! He told me you killed him!"

I am always torn between Empire and Jedi, they are both great and classic... but I guess I have to go with Jedi.

To bad we can't vote for KOTOR

Yeah, basically everything Heath said. Episodes I-III are rather lackluster in my opinion, covering up a dull story with pretty computer graphics, sort of like video games these days.

The best Star Wars episode is and always will be The Empire Strikes Back. :D

This is close to correct. Switching ep 3 and 1 is best.

Empire Strikes Back is my favorite, even though it leaves things hanging it's the most character driven of the series, which I like in stories. Great scenes and revelations, great music, great moments.

Generally I like IV-VI better than I-III although II had some cheap thrills and III is better than VI.

I liked 2 the best, but it's mostly because I'm a sucker for the forbidden love that starts between Anakin and Padme.

Also, I don't know who noticed. A digital rendering of Hayden Christensen appears in the 2004 DVD version of Episode VI, as the spirit of Anakin Skywalker. This replaced Sebastian Shaw as the ghostly image that appears beside Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda at the end of the film.

I shook my head when I saw that. Really now was that necessary? I still say we needed Qui Gon at the end seeing as how he began everything before Obi Wan and Yoda.

I know what you mean but that wouldn't work mostly because Luke was looking at the spirits of people he knew so Qui Gon just wouldn't fit in with the scene. I still wonder how he would have recognized Hayden Christensen as his father O.o

My favorite Star Wars film was episode 1. I really did not like The Empire Strikes Back, because Yoda annoys the hell out of me *ducks*.

So in order for me: 1,6,3,2,4,5

Return of the Jedi.

I've never, even understood the love for Empire. I've always felt it was boring as hell in comparison to the others. Hell, even Phantom Menace was more entertaining.
