I have been watching a lot of musicals lately. I really like them. So I am going to list a few of my favorites. You should do the same.

-Across the Universe
-Moulin Rouge!
-Mary Poppins
-The Sound of Music
-Rocky Horror Picture Show

I got to watch Chicago tonight. It was all right. Oh, and Hairspray, with John Travolta, hilarious. I loved it. Also, I watched Enchanted, that made me giggle. And I only include it because it is live action. Oh, Cats should always deserve a mention as well.

My wife loves Broadway musicals, which means I humor her a couple of times a year and we go see one of the big musicals when they come to town.

I have a soft spot for musicals. I went and saw Phantom of the Opera in downtown Toronto last spring and loved it. I also like both movie versions of the Producers too. Across the Universe was pretty good, but I already have a heavy positive bias for The Beatles. Nothing beats my favourite musical though: South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut

Little Shop of Horrors
South Park
Moulon Rouge
HErcules
Mulan
Aladin

The Producers
Chicago
The Blues Brothers(It is a musical...of sorts >.>)
South Park
Nightmare Before Christmas and other Disney films

Musicals I hate
Moulon Rouge
Across the Universe - just utterly HORRIBLE! This would be the worst but...
The Rocky Horror Picture Show takes that honor

I wanna see the new Rocky Horror Movie... Marilyn is playing Eddie...

That was a rumour from, like, 2006. :P It's never going to happen. You got it wrong, anyway. The rumour was that he'd play Frank N. Furter. Eddie doesn't even make any sense. Maybe Andy Richter could play Eddie or something. xD

I was going to say something but then I remembered that you also hate FF VI so you must live in Bizarro world where good is bad and joy is pain.

I have not enjoyed very many Musical made movies, if any... none I can think of off the top of my head

They should stay as on stage productions

I stage managed two, Me and My Girl, and Bye Bye Birdie

I shall never admit to liking musicals.

I certainly haven't seen Cats and Starlight Express. And there's no way you'd make me admit that I like Rent and Wicked based on what I've heard, because admitting those things would be admitting to untruthful things that aren't true.

At all.

Sound of Music
West Side Story
Moulin Rouge
Phantom of The Opera
Beauty & The Beast
Meet Me In St. Louis
Annie
Chicago
Evita
Wizard Of Oz
My Fair Lady
The Lion King

And even though they're all not -broadway- musicals. I -really- love the older movies with like Doris Day and such. Alot of movies in the 50's and 60's had random awesome songs~
One of my favorite's off the top of my head is "The Glass Bottom Boat"

My 3 faves off the top of my head:

CATS (WHY HAS NOONE JOINED IN THE CATS LOVE?)
Bedknobs and Broomsticks (nostalgia~!)
Little Shop of Horrors

Seen and liked many other musicals, but none of them come close to those 3 for me. Hee, I have terrible taste.

By that logic, what I said was good must be crap then. How can you hate the producers, chicago or some of those disney movies...HAVE YOU NO SOUL! Have you no waffles? I like waffles XD

I didn't know Disney movies counted as musicals. In that case you should add all Disney movies to my list. ^_^ Especially~

Lion King
Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Mulan

etc.

Has this thread really gone three pages without mention of one of the greatest musicals and movies of all time? Oliver! is quite simply a masterpiece. Jack Wild and Ron Moody are just so perfect in their roles.

Wicked is my favorite. I've seen Rent and it was good but I couldn't watch it again. Sweeney Todd was decent, the kid had the best voice by far. Hairspray is horrible and so is Moulin Rouge. Well, I shouldn't say horrible, I just couldn't stand them. Can't remember the others I've seen but I enjoy musicals.

Jings, Oliver was mentioned on Page 1, I believe.
