Whatever you want to call it, the confessional forum is basically here for all you trainees to give your personal insights about the competition.

Here's how it works. In the confessional, you can create your own personal confessional thread. You can see, the staff can see it, and non-participating forum members can see it - but your fellow trainees can NOT. It's kind of like the Private Feedback forum, but with a twist. :)

So have at it!

Yes, they totally could!

Sorry guys, the confessional forum wasn't working properly, but now it should be. Please confirm that you can only see your own thread. Thanks!

Oh and please remember, everything said in both the Chocobo Stables and the Confessionals are subject to standard EoFF rules and policies. But y'all are all CKs in training, you should already know that. ;)

Wait, what if the friends of other trainees who are not participating tell their trainee friends what the other trainees are saying?

EDIT: And yeah, I'm pretty sure no one else can see my thread now, nor can I see anyone else's. Just to confirm~

So one clarification, can regular members see in there now? Or is it like that old staff-feedback dealio a while back where only the poster and staff can see posts made in it?

Ok so the original design of the confessional forum was for it to be secret from the other contestants, but not from everyone else (since we are the audience). However with extra ranks like Former Staff and Site Staffers in this competition we cannot make that so (without messing even more with the user groups.)

For example, since Jojee is Former Staff I can't hide the forum from her without hiding it from the rest of the Former Staff, and I can't make it public to the FS group without making it public to her. I don't want to take those ranks away from you guys since I don't want you to be without those perks for the duration of this.

So right now the Confessional Forum acts just like Private Feedback, only yourself and staff can see it. It might become public at some point if we can figure out a good way how.

Figuring out a good way how JUST might put you closer to being Eyeson's next Cid's Knight!

ljkkjlcm9
04-02-2008, 06:28 AM
well,
you could post a thread in general chat, asking anyone if they want to be able to watch the competition. Whoever signs up for that, could get their own custom title for the duration of this event. Because obviously, if they're not aware of the section they won't want to see it, and even if they are, a number of them won't look. So the only solution I see, would to be to make a thread informing them of it's existence, asking who wants to see it, and then giving them a title.

call them Cid's Knight Fan or something

Giving a
handicap veiwing
rank to all former staff or recognised members who aren't participating?

Or temporarily stripping participants of all previous user groups

edit:beat me to it :(

If you really wanted to you could make another user groups with the same name (eg two former staff groups) and just put the participants into the second formerstaff usergroup then make that group unable to see the forum so they keep their title. But that sounds hard. I dont know how many button clicks and keystrokes are involved in these user groups

Or we could just trust Jojee

Ban Jojee. Problem solved.

well if it's just Jojee, the simplest solution would actually be to take away the former staff title

Something to note: Only site staff and ourselves can see it....
But I believe Flying Mullet is also a Cid's Knight in Training, and he's currently site staff

This problem is simple. Create two new usergroups, one with the same privelages as former staff, but can't see the confession forum. It could even have the same former staff title. Then move the members who need adjusting to the appropriate group. (Jojee and Mullet)

Eh easiest way I see to make it work would be as others said to simply just remove the current people's titles so that permissions didn't get all screwy. That's the best solution I see that doesn't involve messing around and making things overly complicated and posing a threat to mess other things up in the process.

ljkkjlcm9
04-02-2008, 06:46 AM
I still believe posting a thread is a good idea, because basically no one will even know about it otherwise. Some of the Cid's Knights in Training didn't even know this section existed until a link was posted in general chat.

Can Former Staff see threads in the Private Feedback Forum?

If not, can we just model the Confessional Forum after the Private Feedback Forum and also allow members without the custom title Cid's Knight in Training to view it by lumping us all into a usergroup?

You can keep my Former Staff title off if you give me another nifty extra title in return.

Also, multiple usergroups are stupid, especially for a single competition. Just move everyone into a single usergroup for the competition. You can still edit forum permissions individually if need be.

There has been some back and forth going on with this but that is where it stands. So if you don't want people viewing things you have said in that forum I suggest you delete them.

If you have some things you would like to say to just the staff, we encourage you to use the Private Feedback Forum. Those posts will never be shared with other members.

Ok guys, I think this has been mentioned before but maybe not too clearly. All the confessionals threads are publicly viewable to all members except those in the competition. There has been some back and forth going on with this but that is where it stands. So if you don't want people viewing things you have said in that forum I suggest you delete them.

I'm betting that they won't count for much at all, and their only purpose was to see how many people were interested in becoming a CK.

If it was just for that, they could have gone "Hey who wants to be a CK" "me!" "Okay let's go!"

I'm sure the part where you had to write out the reasons why you would be good/want to be a CK will play some part in it.

To the least, I think someone who had valid reasons and examples should have a better chance over someone who said something to the extent of "Well I want to help out and this seems to be a good way!"

Okay then, what's the American word for 'loathe'?

I'm American and I use loathe.

Most people just say "I don't like you" instead of "I loathe thee"

Loathe - To dislike, To hate, to be in disgust of or intolerant of.

Also, Jammi. Most words aren't of any origin that exists anymore. (Like Loathe being from middle and old english which.. is clearly not modern english.) So really, it's just a matter or people having a large vocab or not. In america though, "Loathe" seems to be an older word so it's just used less here.

jammi567
04-03-2008, 08:56 PM

I hope they take this title from me sooner rather than later. I want to see the Confessionals forum again! :)

Although the extra PM space which I don't use is a perk.

Bah, I was already drafting up my "Mega-Loathe everyone" final confessional. I guess I'll save it for a later day.

Don't think you're off the hook, everyone. If these results taught me anything, they taught me that there's a lot of shifty players in this game that would slit their mama's throat for a nickel.

I will give all those eliminated some time to say your goodbyes and post once more in your confessional. After that you will be asked to leave the Chocobo Stables.

On the bright side, though, now you will be able to see all the confessionals!
