Server doesn't matter unless you have someone you want to play with. I'm on Alexander, but it looks like Pandemonium or Midgardsormr is the place to go if you want to play with EoFF'ers.

For people who like thieves...well...play thief.

No best class, all classes have their use. Read up on wiki.ffxiclopedia.org or ffxionline.com about the classes and try out the ones you think you'll enjoy the most.

Ranger and ninja are advanced jobs. You need to unlock them, and the level requirement for the quests that unlock them is level 30. That's probably for the best too, as ninja and ranger are rather expensive jobs to play, and you probably wouldn't be able to fund it well enough if it was your first job.

As for jobs to be, I say go Galka Dancer, or try Puppetmaster. =D I love all the jobs that are against the norm. The newer jobs are much more fun, though slightly gimped, in my opinion.

Though I say play a job that fits your playing style. Or better yet try them all out to 20 and see if you like it.

As far as THF goes, expect to pull and do meh damage for a while. The good news is 75 THF/NIN full evasion gear is nearly untouchable.

I'm on Pandy too! How was that forgotten? This makes a potential 6, which can be considered as "enough" for a small LS. This will be okuntil the other EoFFers scattered across other servers come to pandy as well.
Although I have to admit, past year or so I was more of a FFXIer than an EoFFer...

Considering that my responsiblities include an entire sky LS, I don't think that would be possible. Maybe one day though (doubtful, but possible).

Well last night I figured out that I cant solo the orcish scouts as a lvl 4 theifXD...so Im going around town doing some missions and getting some money so I can get better armor n such(it doesnt help that only 1 out of 10 people on when I am can speak english and only 1 out of 20 of them will help me when I have a question)

You should upgrade your equipment at level 7 to leather gear. Don't need to at level 4, remember to Check (CTRL+C) every enemy you're going to fight, you should stick with either Easy Prey or Decent Challenge as a THF in early levels.

Ome gave some very good advice, now allow me to give a little more. Keep Signet on at all times for the crystal drops and Conquest Points (CP) it gives you. The CP will be useful later on and the Crystals will make you decent gil early on selling stacks to the AH. Also, never, ever, drop a Beastmen Seal if you can avoid it. These are used later on for battles for useful items. Many of us dropped many seals in our noob days, don't make the same mistakes we did.

The 100 exp. a kill is deceptive, trust us. In the amount of time it takes you to kill one of those, you can kill many, many more weaker enemies. While they give less exp. you'll have to rest less often and ultimately you'll be getting more exp./hour by killing weaker enemies faster.

Fighting EM's is fairly easy in the first few levels, but once you start to get higher level you'll notice you won't be able to take on a lot of the tougher enemies.

If you're somewhere around level 7-10, you may as well just slaughter a lot of easy prey and throw in the occasional decent challenge. It'll be much quicker and much less of a headache.

But yeah, good luck with it.

You must remember, Decent Challenge (and Easy Prey) will overwhelm you in the higher levels, for now anyway.
