First videos of PlatinumGames' (former Clover) first two games under their new moniker. Only one of the videos seems to be up and it's a shaky handheld camera version, but the fact that it exists at all fills me with joy.

Mad World is ultra violent, cel shaded, black and white, and involves a chainsaw. There's not much more to say about it so far, but what more needs to be said? It's for Wii.

Bayonetta is about a girl with guns on her feet and it's by the creator of Devil May Cry, Hideki Kamiya. Dunno what the platform is, and the video appears to be borked.

Apparently Bayonetta is a PS3 game, which I learned from WiiFanboy of all places. xP

I dont get the extreme optimism of Clover in this thread. They made some good games but they also made some bad ones too, not everything they touch turns to gold you know.

As for the recently announced games, well Ive yet to see Mad World but I hear its ultra violent and has a unique style, might have to check it out. Bayonetta has Devil May Cry written all over it, which would have me excited a few years ago but considering Devil May Cry has started to out stay its welcome im hoping for more out of this one and not just style over substance.

I hope you class God Hand as one of Clovers fantastic games as it definately was and is one of the most underrated titles on the PS2. Im pretty sure that was the game that made Capcom shut Clover down which is a shame as making good games is more important than making money, something Capcom should realise.

I think Capcom announced that they were shutting down Clover before God Hand was actually released. If it was any one game that did it, it was probably Okami, which is too bad because it's one of the big four. (Viewtiful Joe, Viewtiful Joe 2, Okami, and God Hand.) What really killed them was poor sales. Definitely not the quality of the product they were putting out. Those four games are cited as some of the most tragically underrated games of last gen (or ever).

I hadn't seen the Bayonetta trailer. The trailer itself isn't very good, since it's a lot of flailing around from way too close (and the fact that it's so shaky because of the camcorder doesn't help) but an actual gameplay trailer would probably look a lot more promising.

*warning, loosely related revelations ahead*

Holy crap, I just learned (http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/2251/postcard_from_gdc_2005_lessons_.php) that I was a Clover fan before 'Clover' even existed. Steel Battalion, while I never friggin' finished that brutal game, was one of my favourite games on the Xbox. I had no clue until like 5 minutes ago that the man (http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3165732) who co-founded Clover and ruled as its CEO is the one who created Steel Battalion. Maybe I should pull out the old 'Box again and give it another spin, I'm sure my gaming dexterity has improved over these last 5+ years.

Anyway, it looks like Clov Platinum is carrying over their Capcom blood with their new projects, as they're already making it known (http://kotaku.com/5009841/those-platinum-games-games-will-have-sequels) that these games are not going to be one-offs. There will be sequels.

I've been reminiscing about 'my favourite Xbox 1' games since I made that post. My #1 favourite Xbox series has to be Otogi, which is a SEGA game.

Put Platinum on Otogi 3!

Then make it crossover with Shenmue and Yakuza!

With a cameo in Virtua Fighter!

Having just seen the trailer to Mad World I am so stoked for it....despite having no means to play it (one more interesting game for the Wii and Ill get one, I swear). The plot reminds me of the Running Man which is too awesome to put into words.

Sega are definately getting back on their feet this gen. With Valkyrie Chronicles looking stellar so far im hoping Sega can start developing more great games themselves rather than publishing. Heres hoping for a Phantasy Star V announcement.
