Nostalgia that is.
I think the shortest time its happened to me is about 2-3 months, I think it's the changing of the season that gets me. But more commonly it takes a year which isnt very long. Naturally the strongest nostalgia is about 5 years though

It depends on how I felt about the thing/person in question. I tend to get very nostalgic over songs that I haven't heard for a long time, or an old picture of someone I used to know. As for how long, I'm not sure.

You can feel nostalgic almost immediately if you miss something enough. :P

Yeah, I miss the days when I could go out with my friends, get drunk, and get off with random guys. And be fine for work the next day.

That was only 6 weeks ago... :rolleyes2

I remember playing Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, and I went to Lobby 11. I think it was the first time I had seen the DC-Style lobbies in years.

Edit: Wow, pretty epic same-time post.

It depends how long I forget about it for, actually. Can be as little as a month, but then it's more like "Oh yeah...that was pretty cool..."

Sometimes I feel nostalgic for events that happened before I was born.

What a dirty, misleading topic title.

I thought I was in for a treat.

Depends on what it is and how strongly you felt about it, to be honest. I don't think there's an absolute cut off date.

The rules are....

at least 257 business days for romantic memories.

at least 1095 days since you graduated you last attended an institution of learning before you can miss that institute or the people you spent time with there.

It's never to soon to miss grandparents or pets you've lost.

Wow. Seeing this thread is kinda cool.

I think nostalgia is a little bit like grief in that you feel it right away, and it changes over time. Eventually it all turns into a kind of neutral reminiscence. Grief and nostalgia like to wear each other's clothes sometimes, too.

Blackmage, I'm back and the nostalia hit so hard when I was googling FF stuff and this was the second link to pop up!

The fact that we still show up on Google first page results at least shows something!

I have been more nostalgic for EoFF this year than I have recently. Too bad there are not enough posters here! I am gradually trying to change that.
