I dont think there was anything wrong with the way Snake talks at all. It is annoying when he over exagerates moments from the earlier metal gear games though. Like when he mentions fighting Grey fox in a mine field. It was alot less dramatic then i expected when i actually played metal gear 2.

I agree. The voice performances in the Metal Gear Solid series are generally very solid and good.

People always seem to not understand that the whole purpose of the laughing scene in Final Fantasy X was that it was SUPPOSED to be forced and awkward. In that respect the voice actors achieved the appropriate feel admirably.

I still mute the volume for it, but they did exactly what they were supposed to do.

Samurai Legend Musashi... the gameplay was fun and the story is entertaining but it loses major points for horrible VAs especialy the voice of Musashi, it's almost unbearable to play with the volume up at any level, though the talking cat was pretty funny at times...

Megaman X7. Axl and the bosses just sound HORRIBLE. The worst offender is probably Flame Hyenard, though.

And you have to listen to that for the whole battle. Ick. Vanishing Gungaroo is probably the second worst.

Shenmue, as someone else pointed out. Could Ryo be anymore stilted?

And then there was that Lucky Hit thing. "Would you like to play a game of Lucky Hit?!" "Do you wanna play Lucky Hit?"

Brave Fencer Musashi has okay voice acting, but some of Rootrick's lines crack me up so badly!

"Haha! Y'ALL BEEEN FOOOOOLED!"

"Shaddup ya dumb gal.....or else y'all gon' get a lickin'!"

And the final one I can think of right now, Star Ocean 2. Most of the voices in battle were annoying, but Precis takes the cake, runs with it, falls over on top of it, and then eats the smushed remains of it from the pavement. Her mangling of "Parabola Beam" especially just drives me up the wall. It's not pronounced "pair-uh-bowl-ah," it's pronounced "puh-rab-o-la!" Get it right!

I second X7, RE1 and Valkyrie Profile. OMG the VA work is horrible... I would also like to mention Xenogears. I love this game but good lord the VA work is terrible...
