I got my braces off yesterday! Finally, no more wires and metal things in my mouth that I can't take out.:p

So did anybody else here have braces? Were they as painful as mine were?

I hated braces. I was supposed to wear rubber bands at night to help correct my overbite. They hurt so much I rarely wore them. The down side was that I had braces for three and a half years instead of two.

I had braces and they only hurt when I first had them. Eating sucked but you soon get used to it. They helped but I still have an overbite.

When my molars touch my top incisors go over my bottoms. But not in a bad way. Do I need braces?

Regardless, I'm not having them. I never had braces because my teeth are pretty much OK.

Had braces for top crowding. Fixed its. I love my top teeth now xD

Getting braces for slight crowding on bottom - single tooth has moved back. Top wasn't painful, highly doubt bottom will be.

I had braces for freaking years. I had a retainer that couldn't be taken out for like 2 years to begin with, and then traintracks for 3 years. I was born without lateral incisors, so next to my central incisors I had nothing because my canines were stuck in the roof of my mouth. I had to have surgery to cut into the roof of my mouth and make holes to make room for my canines to grow down, and then the braces were used to pull them into place and make them straight and pretty~ I was so happy when I got them off in February 2007.

I never found braces painful, but that's probably because they were nothing compared to the pain I went through after the surgery on my mouth. I couldn't eat properly for weeks after that. :(

I had them for a few years. They sucked and hurt a lot. I also had an orthodontist that was a perfectionist, so he wanted me to spend a good year just perfectly aligning my teeth. I said screw that, did away with my retainer, and haven't looked back since and my teeth are fine.

Braces and Ortho in general is annoying, but it's the best investment ever.

Congrats! I had braces for 4 years and it was horrible. I felt so liberated when I got them off. :)

I had traintracks when I was 11 for a year, and a retainer for a further year. I had them younger than most people 'cause my teeth development was really advanced for my actual age or something like that.

Worth it, though. My teeth are now nice and straight. :)

Nope, never had braces or anything like that. Luckily for me my teeth have always been nice and straight.

I was pretty lucky and only had a removable retainer for about six months. My teeth weren't great to begin with but they seemed to fix themselves pretty quickly, so I didn't have to suffer the indignity of train tracks. :D

The only time I've worn braces was when I tried to fit in on my trip to Scandinavia, and those were the braces you attach to your trousers.

I've never had braces, but It's my opinion that girls look really cute with them ;)
