An easter egg!

Hey guys I just noticed this in FFIX during the first part with the play Marcus says "Am I cursed never again to feel her soft touch!?" as the princess is stabbed... This is an easter egg of FFVII when Aeris is killed and Clouds craddling her saying stuff like "I shall never hear her voice.." etc. etc.! Didn't know if anyone else noticed so!

This is just off the top of my head.

1. The line, "Not a cloud or squall shall hinder us!"
2. Ramuh's story was that of Josef from FFII.
3. Elemental Guardians are originally from FFI.
4. People argue Necron was a tribute to the force of nature bosses from the past FF's.
5. Garland was named after Garland of FFI.
6. Vivi's character design is based off the Black Mage character sets of old (see FFI, III, IV, V)
7. Mog is named after Mog of FFVI
8. Flarestar was in FFVI.
9. The Boko card was a throw back to Boko of FFV :D

He's pretty much an exact replica of the FF Tactics (and FFV) version, but shorter and with a floppy hat to make him seem more childlike and helpless. He's a bit more useful than the BMs of old, too.

Summoning Ark isn't a reference to anything. It's just an awesome attempt at putting something tokusatsu-esque in there.

In the Evil Forest the Rufus Theme from FFVII is played on the Prima Vista.

And if you press a combination of buttons at the end credits, you get to see Cloud and Squall fighting it out.. but it only worked once and I may not have been awake at the time.

In a weapon shop in Lindblum, Zidane sees an identical sword to the one Cloud wielded in FFVII and remarks that he remembers a spikey haired guy who used one of these...or something along these lines....

Also, after Alexandria is 'destroyed' there is an NPC couple you can talk to who have a similar love story to Cloud and Aeris.

Don't forget the three pluto knight statues next to the ticket booth at the beginning of the game, that look like the Magus Sisters from IV.

I think they are the Goddess Statues from FFVI...
