Hey guys! I'm a Beatrix fan - she pawns! Is there anyway to get her without a game shark permanently?

No.

Unless you save at the part where you get to use her in battles and keep repeating that part over and over, no.
Either way, Steiner gets the same moves later on, so you can just pretend you have Beatrix instead of Steiner later in the game. ;D

Steiner is God. Beatrix is God' wife.
I see no reason to have God's wife when you already have God himself.

^ Malicious lies! Beatrix surpasses Steiner in nearly every way! :O

^You will burn in hell for that.
Even though Beatrix is incredibly hot, her beauty pales in comparison to Steiner's divine majesty.

She can heal herself. She has better MP,speed. She wins.

^GOD doesnt need to heal himself. He is eternal.

So why is it I can KO Steiner? ;]

1) Steiner can be KO'd, because if he were to unleash the wrath of his shear awesome your very copy of FF IX would implode.
2) Not even that amount of awesome can keep me away from that Sexy, sexy women Beatrix. I don't care if she looses all of her power either. But she must keep the eye cover thing, as that just adds to the sexy.
3) I move this thread topic be changed to "Is Beatrix hotter then Steiner is awesome?"
4) To stay on the new topic, I propose that yes she is.

I disagree.
Sure, Beatrix is incredibly hot, but dont forget that she gets it off with Steiner. Ergo, Steiner must be equally hot at least. In actual fact, Steiner is hotter.
In the game Beatrix is incredibly strong. Steiner is unbelievably strong too, but as you said, he's hiding his power because otherwise the game would implode. Also, not only would the game implode, your minds would implode at the sight of his sheer, raw, manly, Godly awesomenalness.

It reminds me of the way you can temproarily get Edea in the party in FFVIII. In both cases it would be nice to get them into the party permenantly. But not enough to resort to Gameshark and the like.

How about this. Beatrix and Steiner's child will be the supreme being of the universe, like Hercules.

I think if given the choice to use Beatrix permanently, I probably would have taken it. She was an excellent character to use in battle and found her to be one of my favourite characters in the whole game.

The difference between them is Beatrix actually has decent stats. For those of you interested, this is what they'd be, maxed, at Lv99.
Ranking is out of 12.
HP: 7,509 (joint 2nd with Zidane and Blank)
MP: 577 (2nd)
Spd: 50 (joint 1st with Zidane and Blank)
Str: 83 (joint 2nd with Zidane and Blank)
Mag: 90 (2nd)
Spr: 50 (all characters can have 50 Spr)
Magic Stones: 64 (10th, but doesn't matter as you equip her abilities via codes anyway)
For Edea, it's a different matter. These are the natural stats at Lv100.
Ranking is out of 11.
HP: 3,777 (9th)
Str: 61 (4th)
Vit: 20 (11th)
Mag: 55 (2nd)
Spr: 45 (1st)
Spd: 31 (10th)
Eva: 3 (10th)
Luck: 15 (10th)

That's really interesting, thanks for taking the time to do that. Makes me wonder if you did the same for flashback Sephiroth. :D
That being said, I rarely noticed stat differences in FFVIII, except I recall Zell being very poor at drawing magic. Junctioning and the myriad ways to permenantly boost stats allowed the player to easily smooth over such differences.
I was much more aware of the differences between character abilities in FFIX, parly due to the rigid class distinctions. For example I could reasonably guess Steiner and Vivi are at opposite extremes of physical and magical stats.

I did. Sephiroth is 1st for everything except for HP (only Aerith and Vincent have lower) and MP (4th out of 10).

Zell is joint 7th with Quistis and Irvine for Magic. Only Ward's is lower.

Steiner has 120 HP, 24 MP, 24 Str and 12 Mag.
Vivi has 60 HP, 48 MP, 12 Str and 24 Mag.
They're exact mirror images at Lv1. But the relationship disappears as they level up.

There's an emoticon for sarcastic remarks. -> :rolleyes2 <-
I did. Sephiroth is 1st for everything except for HP (only Aerith and Yuffie have lower) and MP (4th out of 10).
Not suprising since he's supposed to be the best soldier in the world.
Steiner has 120 HP, 24 MP, 24 Str and 12 Mag.
Vivi has 60 HP, 48 MP, 12 Str and 24 Mag.

That makes sense since they can share a magical sword combo attack.

Steiner looks like a dwarf, or isn't he?
