So, what was your overall reaction to the movie? I really enjoyed it but it was no where near as frightening as I'd hope it would have been. And do you think the girl survived since the boys found her and she jumped up screaming? I think she did cause how else would the story be known? And my buddy that was with me made a good point when the main guy, don't recall his name was hiding and the guy with the mask came running up behind him and he shot the shotgun at him, didn't it remind you of fighting the hooded guy with the chain saw in Resident Evil 4? Oh and one of the coolest things was the theater thats near my house that I went to see it in last night had the theater set up for the movie pretty neat. When we walked in, instead of them showing all those advertisments and junk like they normally do before the previews, they had the lights turned off with a bit of red glare on the screen playing horror music over the speakers. It was sweet.

I doubt I'll see this one in theaters, but the story concept is pretty interesting to me. Though I tried to look up what events the trailer referred to when it says "inspired by true events" and as far as I can tell the true events weren't even real, just Wikipedia edits to try and sell the movie, which is kind of lame. It's annoying that movie companies feel like they have to promote things as being something that could've actually happened even if they're taking some big liberties in saying they were "inspired."

But, yeah, I might check this one out eventually since the story seems pretty original. Does it ever fall into torture porn territory or is the blood/gore tasteful?

this is not a true story it is a knock off of three different movies

Well, its not really either. Its more run, run and run then I finally catch you, now wtf you gonna do about it? Theres really not any gore at all I think, just one part where the main character accidentally blows half of his best friends head of with a shotgun and they show his head up close.

if there is a huge crowd to see it then yeah....definatly

when me and Spawn went to see it there was at least 100 pple there

and what I mean by the whole thing is:
when you first see the guy in the hood, as the main girl is getting a drink, he sticks his hood out of the shadows and all you see is his mask.... EVERYONE in the theater except for me and Spawn screamed their heads off...and when it got quiet I yelled OH MY GOD...its was hilarious...I couldnt stop laughing at everyone

This movie disappointed me because I thought it was tired and cliche. Uninteresting dialogue, cheap "AHH-it-came-out-of-nowhere" thrills, and a ridiculously nonsensical ending. The horror movie connoisseur would do well to skip this one.

Though I will say the musical ambiance was pulled off quite well, probably my favourite part of the movie was the music.

Oooh, I so want to see this movie!

I'm really fascinated with the whole story. How our homes, the one place in the world we've been felt a guarantee of safety and comfort, can be so easily violated and invaded. So eerie and unsettling, but really intriguing!

But it's rated R. :(

I only see movies on Tuesday's, 'cause where I am that's cheap night ($4.20 CND a person), and this summer is already packed with movies that appeal to me more, as for thrillers I have The Happening and X-Files lined up, oh, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. :p

I'll probably see it on DVD tho. :)

I know Traveling Pants was a series if books. But I hadn't heard anything about a series of movies. Though I'm not surprised

But yeah. The movie looks interesting. But I'll probably see it later in the year, cheaper or for free

The movie had a decent first half. I thought it was shot well and managed to build up a decent amount of tension but about half way through the tension is released for a minute and it never really builds up again. It doesn't help that after a while they're just using the same tricks they used from the start to try and scare you. I'll give it credit for managing to be one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen, but it lost steam towards the end, which hurts it in my eyes. It doesn't do enough later on to warrant more than a rental when it comes out on DVD if you ask me.

The Happening looks retarded. I'll save you $10. The culprit are Trees. As for The Strangers, I found it to be a decently entertaining movie. It wasn't thoroughly scary or in any way a credit to the genre, it's the about the same as any other horror movie out there, but it is pretty decent. After the movie, I wanted to buy a mask and pound on my girlfriend's sisters window to scare her and a friend of hers but I got yelled at and told no. =(

Ah do it. That my friend would be truly priceless. Make her piss her pants and put it on youtube. I'd guarantee that would be a hit. LOL. That is a really good idea and you have given me a very good idea.
