For those playing the DS version of the game, do you use the stylus or the regular buttons to play the game?

I started out using the stylus, and it was nice in the beginning. But damn, it's seriously annoying that you have to tap once to select, then once more to choose. That means to use a potion I have to tap, I think, six or seven times. I use the buttons now.

BUTTENS.

using the stylus in the menu is just not efficient enough.

With the menu's, I agree buttons are the way to go. However, using the stylus for walking and interacting on the field/world map, I think it offers a greater sense of freedom, except for vehicles like the ship and airship.

Buttons, I'm more use to it.

I prefer the buttons. The stylus was just too slow for me.

I use a combination. Like if I'm really focusing on the game, I use buttons. If I'm eating something though, I use the stylus.

Buttons, as the stylus is a pain sometimes.

Teh buttonz.

I only use the stylus when say two enemies are bombs but the third isn't. The stylus lets you highlight just the bombs for a nice Blizza[rd]/[ra]/[ga].

Really? That's pretty cool. Do you just "click and drag" or something? I'll have to try this later.

you can do something like that in the nes version too; you put your cursor on one row of enemies and press up and it'll select both in that row. Or maybe it's my emulator being buggy, but ;o

I tried the stylus, but it just made things harder for me. I prefer the buttons. Now, if we could only customize them...

hmm it wont let me vote but i always use buttons
and thats cause the ds screen or something is fucked up and wherever you touch the stylus it registers it as an inch or 2 lower and to the left!!
makes playing brain training a bloody pain in the archibald also

Buttons. I tend to avoid using the stylus for all DS games.

Same here. I thought it was a really cool idea, but I prefer not to use it if I can get around using the buttons. Even for a game like Advance Wars DS when it should - you'd think - make it easier.

Did you try to calibrate the screen with the stylus?

Yeah, try calibrating it.

I use both, depending on what I'm doing in game, how I'm laying/relaxing, etc.

Buttons. And so far I've yet to figure out how to hop mountains in the Invincible with the stylus.

It pissed me off you had to use buttons in FF4. I actually LIKED the stylus. Better control on the maps, faster menus, once you get used to it.

I like to go it oldschool. Buttons will always be my way of playing any game. (Heck, I don't even like swinging a Wiimote around...maybe I'm just too picky?)

Buttons all the way. I've never been much for the stylus. I'm sure you can become faster with a stylus, but my buttons reflexes are already at optimal.

1) The stylus controls just felt tacked on.
2) You can't use the item duplication glitch with the stylus. xD

The stylus doesn't feel right... plus I lose them all of the time...

I get to slouch if I play one handed, so I mostly use the stylus. However, I can't find a good way to multi-target, so for that I use buttons.

I prefer buttons, because I'm just so used to mashing buttons on my older consoles.

Buttons. I first tried stylus but it got too hard for me. Sometimes I might have used stylus while exploring town but battles are only for buttons.

i switch it up. buttons are better most of the time but sometimes it feels good to be just lazy, pointing a stylus around the place.

buttons
stylus require too many taps to confirm selections

they could have made much better use of it than they did

Buttons - stylus controls on most DS games always feels imprecise and awkward. Old school buttons till the end!

Stylus on Phantom Hourglass is freaking epic.

Off topic, and completely random. But it's so good that it needed to be said. It's freaking epic. It's almost worth buying the game just to use the stylus in such a freaking epic way.

I use buttons in battle, because tapping that many times is a pain. But walking around with the stylus was just too cool to pass up. I'm horrible at it sometimes, but it's lazy and that's how I roll
