I've been meaning to post this for awhile, Montgomery reminded me with that thread of his S:

WHO OWNS THE FISH?

There are five houses in a row in different colors. In each house lives a person of different nationality. The five owners all eat a different candy, drink a different drink and keep a different pet.

1. The Brit lives in the red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the left of the white house.
5. The green house owner drinks coffee.
6. The person who eats M&Ms keeps birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house eats Snickers.
8. The man living in the house right in the center drinks milk.
9. The man who eats Three Musketeers lives next to the one who keeps cats.
10. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the one who eats Snickers.
12. The owner who eats Baby Ruth drinks soda.
13. The German eats Reese's Pieces.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who eats Three Musketeers has a neighbor who drinks water.

The German owns the fish. I'll have a full key up later.

I posted one of these a while back! It was different to yours, but here it is:

There are five houses with different coloured doors.

Each is owned by a man with a different nationality, hobby, pet and favourite drink.

A. The Englishman lives in the red house.
B. The Spaniard owns the dogs.
C. Coffee is drunk in the green house.
D. The Ukranian drinks tea.
E. The green house is directly to the right of the white house.
F. The stamp collector owns snails.
G. the antiques collector lives in the yellow house.
H. The man in the middle house drinks milk.
I. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
J. The man who sings lives next door to the fox owner.
K. The man who gardens drinks juice.
L. The antiques collector lives next to the horse owner.
M. The Japanese man's hobby is cooking.
N. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

Who drinks water?
Who owns a zebra?

The Norwegian drinks water, and the Japanese owns the Zebra.

I might give yours a go tomorrow, or when I have some spare time. ^_^

I saw this on a tv program a while ago, thus know the answer. Albert Einstein said 98% of the worlds population wouldn't get this. So I'm guessing that most of the people on here that do get it right looked it up on google.

I spent like an hour working it out xD

EDIT:

I was never told the actual answer, either, so I might be wrong anyway :S

At one point you have to just guess and see if it all fits into place.

There are these sort of puzzles called Logistical in my mum's Puzzler books, and I am able to figure them out about 60% of the time. I'd probably be able to do this if I drew out a grid, or had the time... :p

these are fun. I've done Jess' version before, but not this one. but I will start now

edit: for those of us too lazy to write on stupid paper: Who own the Zebra? (http://www.themathlab.com/gym/brainbuilders/logic/whozebra.htm)

edit2: and everyone who's fond of logic puzzles should go to this site (http://http://kaser.com/)and download at least Sherlock, and also Baker Street and perhaps Watson's Map if you feel the other two are too easy. Sherlock is the game version of the puzzle in this thread. locating who lives in what house etc.
