I like to imagine that there is a rivalry between the Former Staff and Recognized Members for this. Like Montagues vs Capulets, they hate each other! But there is also true love to be found. Well okay there isn't. :(

Team Former Staff has three members.
Big D is a big man with a big beard. He has particularly sterling taste in comedy. He is the team's captain. Next up we have Necronopticous, a new addition to the team, having resigned from staff in the wake of a strawberry smuggling scandal. Making up the numbers we have the team's official midget, Jojo.

Team Recognized Member has just the two.
Firstly is Chemical. She pops her head around the door of EoFF every now and then, starts saying crazy things, then disappears again. Ready to do combat in the dwarven boxing is Levian, who is pleased to have an opponent of his own size to fight. Levian is actually a turncoat stolen from Team Former Staff by Team RM, which was a major blow to them.

Frankly I see this Ciddie being like that scene in Mount Doom in the Return of the King. Two tiny folk having a little slapping match for something that decides the fate of the world. Yes, this Ciddie is that important.

Team RM has the nicer coloured title so I encourage you all to root for them.

As Loony BoB once loved to periodically remind us, there's a small, dedicated group of EoFFers who tirelessly devote themselves to the continuing growth of Eyes on Final Fantasy. They're there, making the frontsite (yes, we have a frontsite) better little by little.

The lineup of Site Staffers changes frequently, but everyone has something to dedicate to the site. The last six months have been one of the more inactive periods in EoFF's history, but with a new design coming soon, things are looking up.

Shiny silver Admins all over the place! Can y’all remember the last time we’ve had so many Administrators running around? As I’m sure everyone here knows, being an Administrator is the highest position one can aspire to here on EoFF. And isn’t that what every kid dreams of becoming when they’re older? A Internet Forum Administrator? Of course it is. Our rag-tag group of Admins may all be different in the roles they fill as an Admin or how they achieved Admin status, but all of them want one thing. E-Power. And lots of it.

What they do with that E-Power is up to them. Some will use it to create horrifying or delightful (depends on how you look at it) forum skins, others will use it to fix what is broken, and then there are Admins who will use their powers to browse through everyone’s private messages just for giggles. We’ve got all sorts, people.

This award really belongs to one Admin. The Admin who has, for the past 6 months, been consistently active, helpful, and innovative. Let's see if the EoFF community got this one right. Cause if you didn't, I'm gonna ban the whole lot of you. :)

You would have thought that as Del's official cheerleader, Miriel would be writing this. You thought wrong. While having endless praise from her is something every man wants (and I expect plenty for voting for him) she is not the only one of us who thinks he is just fabulous.

Let's take a trip back in time. Four years sounds about right. Surprise! (although it wasn't really) Yes, they had made that crazy spammer Del Murder a Cid's Knight. I think there was something of a buzz about the place. People seemed excited about this. Well, as excited as they can be for a moderator appointment on a Final Fantasy forum.

Back to the present, and look at where we are now. Del Murder is an administrator, having worked tirelessly for this forum for the past four years. I could go on about the things he has done during those years but this speech would be unbearably long, so instead I shall talk about the things he has contributed over the last six months.

Firstly, changing members' names is unbearable torment for admins. It's like being made to watch an Uwe Boll movie, or having to go through Baloki's entire post history. Del (along with Leeza) has undertaken this painful task and has done so without complaint.

On a similar note, he has also been responsible for renaming all of the mafia accounts. Mafia, of course, is something that is enjoyed by an awful lot of EoFFers and his efforts in not only renaming the accounts, but also setting up user groups and so forth have been much appreciated. And I could be wrong, but I believe that Staff Mafia happened within the last six months. For those of you who don't know, Staff Mafia is accepted to be one of the best, if not the best (I think it was the best) mafia game at EoFF so far, and Del, along with Miriel, put in a lot of time to organise it.

The two of them also combined to create Eyes on's Next Cid's Knight, a roaring success, in that not only did it create a lot of activity, bring enjoyment to the members and liven the place up a bit, it also brought us the wonderful Flying Mullet.

Finally, something that most of you unwashed regular members will not be able to appreciate, and I thumb my nose to you in true Elitist style, he also makes the staff forum a much more enjoyable place to post in with his presence.

So congratulations to you, Del Murder, on a well-deserved Highwind award. You truly are an example to us all, and an asset to this here forum. But I am still a better spammer and mafia player than you. :D

The Speech

Of all the categories of the Ciddies, there is only one category that is so important. Better then Most Likely To be run over by a tricycle, better then Best Member, the category I speak of is Best Female Member.

Now I could go on in detail about each member up for this award, but I like to be unigue. Instead we should learn why this is such a wonder category shall we?

What sets this category apart from all the rest? Is it that the winner claims the title for the best female? But what is a best female? Is it the one with the most feminine charm? Or the one who is just the greatest poster? I think the answer is far far simpler.

On a forum with a majority of guys, we learn that the internet can be a confusing and harsh place. The truth of this Ciddie is that years ago the men of this forum discovered a female, a female who was in fact a female and not just a guy pretending to be a female. This Ciddie is tribute to the fact that there are in truth females on the internet and they do in fact play Final Fantasies. And that is why we vote for a Best Female every Ciddies, because of those brave men years ago who learnt the truth.

To be nominated for such a thing is something you should be so proud of you! And gosh, I was to proud to write this! First off, we have Big D, the magical kiwi of Eyes on Final Fantasy. I've known D for many years, and he's always been a very genuine and helpful person. He's wicked helpful in EoEo and the technical forums and is always contributing any knowledge he has to help people out, and that makes him a really cool guy. I've always wondered what his accent is like, I'm sure it's brilliant.

Flying Mullet is next up. Mullet has been an active member for as long as I can remember. He's always ready to make a good joke, or contribute one of his awesome EoFF games to give us a good time. Good things come to good people, I suppose, because he's recently won the Eyes on Final Fantasy Cid Knight Competition, and is our newest addition to the shinra. He's a great guy to chat with and to share naughty Harry Potter slashfic with, and his pictures of his triathalons and diving are wicked awesome.

Rantzien is one of those people who need their own bunch of movies, like Jim Carrey. He has a million funny faces, and he’s not afraid to show them. He’s so funny and outgoing, and he’s a great contributor to EoFF as of late. He's very polite and positive as well, which means that he's someone to take home to mother (lucky you, Keith and Cz-chan!) I dare say that he’s a new rising star of the message boards, and a lot of eyes are on him and his freaky turkey thing sig.

Roto13 is one of the sweetest guys I know, despite his sarcastic and wise-cracking nature on the message boards. Though we all love him for that, what a funny guy. He’s a total teddy bear when it comes to people he cares about, and he’s very loyal. I love how he stands up for what he believes in and for who he is. Roto and his husband, Dilcio, are one of the few examples I can think of, of what I think is true love in this day and age. <3

Levian, our resident Norwegian midget and ex-CK, is one of the funniest people I know. I have a lot of great memories of being taught questionable Norwegian (Vanijlabaesj <3) and comparing geographical shapes to male anatomy with him on MSN. He's always on the bright side on the forum, telling his grape detective grocery job stories and posting those cheesy smiling pictures that make Paul pitch a tent in secret. I suppose you have to keep positive all the time though, when you have people like Dan ripping on you for being the size of a kumquat. Stay gold, Levian.

Psychotic! Paul has been one of my best and closest friends for years and years. There’s no one quite like him. From back in the day when he made BAoTW (All of the memories I had from that!), to being a CK for EoFF, he’s been a fantastically unique, hilarious guy. He’s also a great leader, and in general, an amazing friend and listener. Psychotic is one of those people who always makes something more fun. The Speech

And so we come to the end of the Ciddies. A long and tense time for many of our members. People have won, lost, laughed, cried, done little dances, overused the bigsmile smiley and someone's probably unconscious by now I would imagine. Still, at the end of it all is it worth it? Of course it is you dufus, this is the Ciddies for smurfs sake! A bi-annual exercise in making everyone feeling a little bit better about themselves through the distribution of metaphorical prizes.

So what exactly makes a good member? It could be any number of criteria; if they're friendly, how much they help others, if they make us laugh, whether or not they post hot pictures of themselves in General Chat, or how much money they're prepared to pay the establishment to skew the votes in their favour. Whatever the reasons, this award celebrates the one individual who stands out amongst all others as the very cream of the crop within our community.

First up is Del Murder, a guy who's been around here longer than the dinosaurs have been making those bottled water adverts. He's an Admin so you know he's already gained the trust and respect of the staff here, as well as many other members. A very amicable sort of a chap, he's ever present in whatever discussions we make around here. Does this Mafioso have the meatballs needed to win this award?

Swooping in through the window is Flying Mullet, yet another old timer who's managed to gain almost every single custom title aside from banned. Suspiciously similar-looking to Hollywood B-Movie sensation Matthew Lillard, he's been through all kinds of marathons, triathlons and probably a few polygons as well. Rumours of him celebrating winning this reward by jumping all the way to the moon are completely unfounded and made up by me just now. Yet maybe he'll be jumping for joy at winning this award.

But wait, what's this? Why it's only the almighty creator of the Universe, God himself! Surely an omnipotent being with unlimited powers could win this award with a snap of his colossal fingers? Well obviously not, because we all know behind that blasphemous façade it's none other that one Dr Unne, keeper of Lufein translation text and incredulous statements about his unknown status. He may have changed his name to try and invoke fear in the rest of us, but is that enough of a command of respect for him to gain Best Member?

Heath is next on our list. I believe a heath is a small hill of some kind, not big enough to be a hill but close enough. This t'up north type recently gained strawberry power through a process not unlike the one that transforms Prince Adam into He-Man. A site staffer, he's probably got the votes of some of the higher ups, but what do the regular members make of the leader of Aero-Dalton?

Onto a person who has won more awards than any other member, and most of them awards he technically shouldn't be awarded. Psychotic may have been less active than in previous years, but he's still short-listed for this award. He has popularity, more user notes than is technically feasible, long flowing blonde locks and a gurn that could curdle milk. But are these many talents the sorts of qualities that you want to see in your Best Member?

In this world of ours, there are two types of people; those who are AZN, and those who are not. Pureghetto is in one of these groups. With a fruity kind of style yet with the intellectual capacity to box it out with the cultural elite, PG is many things to many men. And women, probably. Ask him what his favourite colour is and he'll probably respond with "lol, a/s/l". Such is the might we are dealing with here. Does he have what it takes to win Best AZN...sorry Best Member.


Now we come to a young man who has made a big impact in a short time; Rantzien. With his unusual facial expressions, delightful animated gifs and other such jollities, he's obviously captured the hearts, minds and possibly shoes of the community. Just don't ask what the chicken thing in his signature is all about, it's probably best not to bring it up. Is he the likely candidate for this award?

Drop and give me fifty, maggot! That's what Sergeant Hartman shouted when he heard he was up for this award. He then got everyone around him to do a hundred laps, an obstacle course three times and then finished off by getting them to rebuild their beds from scratch. Should he win chances are he will probably work all the members of his boot-camp to death to celebrate. Perhaps military experience is the sort of property that will see him to win this award.

Finally we have on this list the most hip-hop of the hip-hopests of the hippity-hoppity appreciation society, TyphoonThaReapa. Phat beats and dope rhymes are his forte, most likely spending his weekends busting caps into asses to pass the time. He's a keen and active member, known and loved by many. Can this guy pull through and claim the trophy in the name of Notorious CID?

And those are your nominees ladies and gentlemen. A group of well-known, well-respected individuals you have selected as possible candidates for the part of Best Member. The votes have been tallied in, the messenger pigeons checked (and subsequently eaten), the telegraph's morse-codes de-coded and the smoke signals largely ignored since no one can understand them. Now all that remains is for the winners to be announced...
