Where was it? What did it involve doing? Did you like it? Hate it? Is your first job your only job??
Tell us something about it!!

My first job is my current job (only 15, here!) I work at a butchers place, and by God some of the things I see are disgusting! But it does very well and it is always busy (sometimes I wish it weren't). But yeah, we sell any kind of meat you could think of, and I work the counters and stuff... I really have to learn alot of weird things because people ask alot of questions, that most people wouldn't know, so it is a pretty difficult job.

Tell me about your first job!!! :):)

When you say first job, do you mean any job where you were paid, like mowing lawns, babysitting, etc... or your first job where you received an official paycheck with taxes taken out, etc...

At JcPenney's. I liked it for the most part, the benefits sucked and they kept me away from nearly every other worker because.. well they only hired ME for the area from 11-5 everyday. I learned to love purses and perfumes but in the beginning the smell of leather was sickening.

I don't really like JcPenney's as a corporation, I've worked there twice and.. well nothing's different. I don't mind shopping there, but I have no intentions of going back.

After JcPenney's I went to work at Macy's and loved the living hell out of it. I did the same job at Penney's (Accessories (Purses, Fashion Jewlery, Socks, scarves, hosery)) but the environment was so much better and the company itself just seemed to love it's workers. If I ever have to work retail again (which I won't because I'll be a stay at home mom and then get my degree in the next span of 6 or 7 years) I'd totally go back to Macy's.

My first job was at Disneyland. It was absolutely the http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif. I did food service and register, parade patrol, crowd control for Fantasmic, and walking around telling people where the bathroom is.

It was in high school and a lot of my friends worked there too, so we'd just go hang out at Disneyland after school. Walk backstage, cut in line on rides, bring our friends.

It was basically the greatest job ever.

I worked at a Dairy Queen. I basically made the ice cream crap when we were overly busy. But my main job was cleaning up the place and stocking the drive through and front with crap they needed. They tried to get me in the kitchen but got angered I couldn't learn everything in 10 minutes, and gave me 2 minutes training as a cashier and thought I was too dumb to do any of that. My current job gave me near full access to the entire with full access to the cash office and safe including all the passwords to get in and out and keys. :monster:

Dude, I've only heard great things about working at Disneyland.

If I could ever work there, I totally would. Shoot, I'd work there even if I didn't have to work from all the awesome things I've heard. :D

I worked at a video rental store in high school. It paid well and my coworkers were one of my good friends and a bunch of college students that were a blast to hang out with (except for one...)

Yeah... the only reason I got mine was because my family is good friends with the family that owns the place. If you don't mind me asking, people... how much did you make?

I don't know about the USA, but here in "south detroit" (the tip of Ontario that dips below the states) minimum wage is 8.75/h. They plan on raising it to 10 bucks in the next two years...

My first job was as a movie extra in this movie. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462465/) It was awful. I have a very long story, but to summarize, I ended up standing in a bog at 6 in the morning in October after already being awake for over 24 hours (and having punched in a full day of college classes) wearing what basically amounted to a pair of slippers and sweatpants. I stood there for about 15 minutes before telling them to kiss my ass and leaving.

It was at Blockbusters. Not bad, but some people would get pissed if I reccommended a flick and those bastards didn't like fine art.

Campus mail room at college. I loved it. Awesome people, lots of slacking, and no matter how http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifty a job you do you couldn't be fired. Also, whenever I was broke (since I was only making minimum wage), I just stole money from the lock box. No worries.

I work as a referee. Brilliant pay, assuming I'm not injured. And it's basically impossible to get suspended, unless you start swearing at the crowd. Good fun

Now I'm older, and way better, and I guess that looks real bad, because nobody wants anything to do with me. :(

First job I had was a volunteer in a British Red Cross shop which I did on and off for about 18 months. I volunteered there as part of a course originally but stayed and did some work there because I enjoyed it and got on well with the staff. Seriously. Free biscuits and tea, first pick of the books that come in and really easy work. Only downside was I wasn't getting paid, but I nearly ended up working at another branch as a member of paid staff recently.

My first paid job was doing a bit of admin work for a family friend. Basically helped to try and expand his online business to eBay it didn't work so well, but I stayed there for a good four months or so doing about ten hours a week just helping out. Got paid cash in hand which was definitely nice.

My first proper, 'pay yer taxes' job was working in Woolworths. I started there in September or October last year as temporary staff but they kept me on. I still work there of a Saturday now and would cover any shifts for them until I started working full time during the week. Pretty thankless work sometimes, but I enjoy it except for some of the right tossers and idiots you get in. Oh sure, queue up at that other till I'm blatantly not serving on then stare at me as if it's my fault. That's exactly the right way to get yourself served.

My first paid, full time job is the one I'm in now. Technically I work for Reed, the temporary agency, but my assignment is with a civil engineering company quite away away. It pays well and it's pretty easy work, but the office is rather crowded since the person I was covering for came back and they've taken on someone else, so I'm unsure if I'll be there for much longer until they realise I'm not needed.

I've had a lot of first jobs, apparently. I've given you my whole employment history xD
