I have come to the conclusion that the Banora in Crisis Core is Mideel from the original FF7.

The only reason why I think this, is because of the large amount of lifestream that can be seen in one of the cut scenes in Crisis Core.

In the oringal FF7, they also state that Mideel is unstable and the lifestream rushes beneath them, or something of that sort.

Please share your thoughts.

it sure does look like it, i thought we were going to Mideel, and when they called it Banora i was annoyed, until it blew up and thus was understandbly not in FFVII. if it isn't Mideel then i think Mideel is very close by. i recon they were close to each other

In crisis core one of the missions sends you to mideel which means they are not the same. It is possible that they are close to eachother however.

No. It is to the right I think, if you look at cosmo canyon from the front.

There are various interpretations... (Genesis' quote)
Later in crisis core, that Banora place is ruined and is filled with lifestream, everybody knows that, i know.
However in FFVII, the Mideel place, although someone mentioned that it is 'unstable with lifestream flowing beneath it', the place looks unusually fine and peaceful, as if nothing has ever happened before like that of in Banora.
All in all i believe that those two places mentioned are of different place but within the same area or just located nearby.
Or perhaps the soil properties of the two places are of the same kind...
Urgh what am i bluffing about? But well, that's how i think...
