In this game is their like a sidequest for fishing or not. lol ive been hearing it? besically can you fish in this game?

Yeah, I've heard of it. It's mentioned on a few guides on GameFAQs so It's real.

yes you can
you need to do it as part of the requirements to get one of the strongest weapons

Top unlock the fishing mini game which you need to complete to get one item required for the Wyrm Hero Blade first, when your in Balfonheim go in the direction of the Aerodrome. You'll notice a man fishing while your on the way too the Aerodrome, talk to him & he will tell you something about how special his fishing rod is. Go one screen away then come back. You will notice when you come back the man is gone but he left his fishing rod! Take It!

Once you have the rod go to the small village in the Estersand, you'll know the one its beside a big river! Go talk to the man standing on the jetty & give him the fishing rod. Mini game unlocked!

It's really not that fun of a mini-game though. I mean, it's not that exciting. To me, at least.

And the Wyrmhero Blade's definitely not worth it. By the time you get it, all of the optional bosses (maybe not Espers) will be gone.

And if you're doing hunts and a lot of the other side quests chances are you have equipment that is as good, if not better by that point as well:mog:
