I always empty my pockets before I put anything in the dirty laundry, so I never get any surprises, good or bad.

Sometimes my thumb drive would elude me while I cleaned out my pockets, so I've washed it at least once. They survive if you let them dry sufficiently, so it's no big deal.

No, I tend to lose €5 notes though. it's rather irritating.

I left a scrunched up green post-it note in the pocket of my shorts, and they got washed, and it's left a huge green stain!

My Mum does the washing, and I never have any money to leave in my pockets. I bet my Mum pockets anything she finds, though, I would.

My brother once washed a GBA game. (believe it was Megaman) The sticker fell off, and his data was deleted, but it still worked!

I only wash paper bills, because they're easy to forget they're in there.

I usually take everything out of my pockets before shoving them in the washer.

My sister did notice yesterday that I have a very weird ability to always have a five dollar bill and a one dollar bill SOMEWHERE for no reason. Basically, I had 6 bucks, then I spent it. The next day I put on a new pair of pants and found another 6 bucks in my pocket. Then in my wallet, I found 6 bucks folded up.

I've also found about 3 dollars worth of change scattered throughout my house in places I don't know how the change got there.

I'm never lucky like that with laundry. But two years ago when I put on my coat I found a twenty.

My phone went through the wash once, and when I tried to turn it on, I got nothing but a black screen and some gurgling noises. Nothing beats when I left my finest Parker pen in my jeans though, everything came out looking like an octopus had slipped inside unnoticed and didn't take too kindly to 60C power spinning.

I still use the pen and still wear the jeans

I've found a few £5 notes, but not often. My mum often moans about people leaving junk in their pockets so I usually check. :jess:

I don't wash much, just pieces of paper with notes and stuff on them. Washed an important piece of assessment once, don't know how it came to be in my pocket though

:O why did it ruin all that? Washing mine just made my money get really stiff cleans the credit/library/drivers license cards, puts some waterspots on the plastic and warps the pleather ;o

I don't put paper bills in my pant pocket. Our school uniform had chest pockets so that's where the bills go. Now I use a wallet that I always take out before putting the pants in the laundry bin.

Sometimes I forget things like pieces of paper, candy wrapper or receipts at the back pocket, but never money.

Some kind of dye, I assume. The tenner went all blue and I just went to the bank to change it. The woman behind the counter had a right laugh when I explained to her why my card wasn't working.

oh yeah, they have those security things in twenty dollar bills sometimes that turn them red in case someone robs a bank or something. I don't know how they're supposed to know they got robbed, but whatever

They are only set off when the container they are in is forced open.

I always empty my pockets before a wash.
But one time, I put my hand in my pocket, and found a toonie that had not been there the prior day and I had not taken out money or went shopping.
Money does appear outta nowhere! :)

I've occasionally laundered clothes with a tissue or receipt in a pocket, which makes a heckuva mess. You usually spend the next few hours picking flecks of paper off everything that was in the machine.

Thankfully, my country's paper money is plastic-coated. It's waterproof, but shrinks if it gets ironed. Never happened to me, though. Being a student trains you let no amount of money go un-noticed, regardless of how small.
