It's a Will Smith movie. So ergo it can't be bad. Though he IS a scientologist now so who knows they could have eaten away his talent as a good actor. But I'll still see it just for the fact it's Will Smith and he's yet to disappoint.

I saw it and liked it very much. It starts out good, and then twists to something different before the first plot line has a chance to get dull. It seems like the boys I went with wanted him to be a drunk asshole for the entire movie, and, while that was funny (train scene ftw), I like the route it went.

I've seen many mixed opinions about it, but I'll see it sooner or later.

Oh gosh, I want to see this movie so bad. It only comes out in the cinemas today, and I'll have to find somebody who will come and watch it with me after I get paid on Saturday.

I love Will Smith. :kaoclove:

I watched it an throughly enjoyed it. My only real gripe with the movie was I wanted to see the villain be more of a villain and have a little more action involving that route. But the movie focused on other things involving superheroes which was a nice route yet. Overall though still a great movie.

Expecting good things for Hancock 2 in the next 10 years when Hollywood runs out of ideas and goes back to resorting to sequels. :)

I haven't heard anything too positive (especially what I've read about the studio cutting down a lot of the originally scripted and shot sequences to get an R rating), so I might hold off for the DVD. The premise is still pretty awesome to me.

The trailers were not convincing enough to get me to the theatre and I'm tired of seeing bad movies. My friends went anyway without me.

The said I didn't miss anything. I was glad. :)

Saw it and it was definitely worth it. A nice twist on a super hero movie, and completely enjoyable from start to finish. Easily one of my favourite movies this year.

Is Hancock from a book?

Anyway, I wanna see it. Will Smith's improves with every film he does, it seems. But I'll just buy it.

Hmm....£5 to watch it once in the cinema....£5 to buy it on DVD...hmmmmm...

Interesting premise and relatively entertaining first half... but becomes a mess of jumbled ideas and a TERRIBLE twist at the end. Will Smith is as effortlessly charismatic and entertaining as ever though, but that doesn't save the film. Really not worth the money I paid to see it.

2.5/5

This one still has its loner feel to it due to him believing he is the only one of his kind and haveing amnesia and not knowing anything of his past. So, its still on that level in a sense.

I'd give it better than that. He plays the role of an asshole almost perfectly. Call me asshole just one more time!!!! LOL. I mean, it wasn't your typical super hero movie, but more of a character change and that was what made it really enjoyable for me.

Will Smith's superb acting didn't carry the whole film, one amazing character didn't save Iron Man either. It wasn't supposed to be your typical superhero movie, it was supposed to be very satirical, something it really lost at the second half.

Maybe a three would be more fitting, but the point remains the same.

It was pretty good, but not something I would see again, except on Starz or something.

Did you just say "save Iron Man"? Iron Man needed saving?!

How do you know Hancock was supposed to be satirical? You the director? I didn't lose anything in the second half, it just didn't go the way most people expected it to. And we all know people don't like to be surprised; everyone wants the same old predictable stuff over and over so they can go "omg yay story time."

From shoddy pacing and a poor final fight scene, yes.

Also, I've read from multiple places that it was supposed to be satire on the superhero movie, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I don't mind plot twists at all, but I didn't like the one in Hancock at all. lol we r anglez. If the twist was handled better and wasn't the completely abrupt change in tone it couldn't recover from, it really could have been a great film. I have no problem with unpredictably, but not unpredictably for the sake of it. =/ That's just me though, glad to see you enjoyed it.

No it's isn't. It's an original movie. Originally it was called Tonight, He Comes, back in 1996. But studios just passed it around for 10 years until Peter Berg took hold of it in 2006.

I enjoyed it. Though the ending was a typical super hero ending.

I must say, I was certainly surprised by the twist. I thought it was obvious that something was going to happen between Hancock and the guy's wife whose name evades me at the moment, due to the way there was constant emphasis on either her disapproving or just failing to be impressed. I thought it was a pretty neat plot twist. Having said that, I do think that I probably preferred the first half. However, I thought the film was hilarious in parts and well worth going to see at the cinema. I mean come on, Will Smith getting called Soulja Boy, what's not to like? Spoiler'd to save ruining a funny bit.

What happened at the very beginning prior to being shot in the car? I walked in on the movie and missed 15 mins, and apparently the villain is shown in the beginning?

Other than that, the movie was very entertaining. Will buy again A++++++++++

I was thinking about Will Smith, and how some of you said he was in it so it couldn't be that bad a movie....

I love Will Smith. and I loved him in this.

at the end of the film I felt that the film should have ended earlier. I felt that the film should have ended with him and Charlize Theron dying, rather than the both of them ending out fine!

It was good though, the first 20-30 minutes were absolutely classic. :jess:

The film itself was generally bad, but Willy S (that's my nickname for him) was good. Rumour is they didn't use any special effects; he just used his magical Thetan powers to fly.
