My friend says that one of the SNES FF's had a riske conversation on a boat censored out, and my first guess is that it was five... Just wondered if anyone could confirm this and if there are versions with this still in it? Is this a different FF? (If it's 6, please, no spoilers, haha I haven't finished 6 yet)

the SNES ffs had quite a bit censored, especially the monster/summon sprites. FF5 wouldn't be it because it was never released in the US to be censored.

Well I've heard that there's a scene where Bartz is looking through the Library for a porno book, and the scene was changed to something else. Don't know if it's true though.

I'm pretty sure what you're talking about is on FF6. Without specifically spoiling it for you it's when your party rides a boat to towards Thamasa.

Well, I first played a fan translation of FF V and in the library when you examine a shelf, Bartz is like "P... P-L-A... P-L-A-Y-B... Nope, not here...." I also vaguely remember Lenna getting mad at him for it, but that might just be in my head.

That could have just been a joke from the translator, though.

Many jokes are randomly thrown in by fan translators, the worst of which being in FFII with Borgen (or however you spell it) calling your party "Spoony guys".

Fan translations have a lot to answer for sometimes, It is often the case that they'll have things in there added deliberately for a joke or whatever, but thoes who haven't played that translation may think it's part of a professional script and that it really was like that on the Non-ROM versions. I can remember playing a ROM of FFV which fetured an enemy named "Marajuana"(sp?) I actually thought that strange and it turrned out that enemies name had been changed by the translaters for fun.

In regards to Final Fantasy VI and the boat scene, I can't think of anything risque about that conversation. Leo and Terra talk about love and Shadow watches Locke throw up form sea sickness.
