It's inevitable, but snowy winter type levels always seem to have the best music. What are some of your favorite snowy level type places?

I really like Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime and Snowpoint City from Pokemon Diamond. And Keterburg from Tales of the Abyss. Although with that one it may be because of the casino, I do love Video Poker. And anygame where you can take off in one direction and then change direction and fall on you butt is automatic win :D

It's true. Areas with snow have wonderful music. Esto Gaza from FFIX, Mt. Gagazet from FFX, and Great Salt Lake from FFVIII are some of my all time favourites.

Also, Shadow Moses island ftw.

I'd have to say one exception to this is the snow levels from Donkey Kong Country. There was almost no music at on those.

I was actually going to say that the snow levels in Donkey Kong Country were my favorite, lol.

I loved the DKC snow music. It's all intense and crazy with it's violin-like stuff and the "duh duh duh". You know.

reminds me of my least favorite video game moment EVER....

I was 6 and I got to the snow levels without saving and had 100%...and my mother came in a just turned it off because Jack Hannah was on:mad2:

but mine....hmmm I cant decide...every snow level I have ever played was awesome in its own way

Yes. Also, the song that plays in Final Fantasy X in Mt. Gagazet is pretty nice as well. It's called Servants of the Mountain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xF-XlIS3keY) or People of the Northpole sometimes too.

Quite like quite a few pieces of music from the Phendrana Drifts in Metroid Prime. Also liked Seeking Power from FFXII and the Ice Cavern music from FFIX.

King's theme (Tekken 3...I can't remember if his stage actually had snow, or if I just associated his theme song with snow >.>)

Hazakura Temple ~ Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations

People of the North Pole ~ FFX

Some other fourth place that I can't remember for some reason.

Ice Cap zone has legendary music.

Giveaway in Star Ocean 2.

Snow levels do tend to have nice music, but that's all I can think of right now!

The only game I think where the Snow Level music loses is Xenosaga II? I think it's II... it's probably not.

Sakura has two domains :D, The Summer one has better music to the opposer methinks.

Course, to be fair, alot of the dungeon/town music in Xenosaga II is bland and boring. :p

Heh...I've never really thought of snow levels as having nice music. I agree with many of the examples brought up in this thread though.

I do feel like I should point out a rather notable exception, IMO. In12,000 BC in Chrono Trigger, the snowy part of the world had no music if I remember correctly, while the snowless part of the sky world (Zeal) had the best music in CT ;). Of course, if Zeal had snow-capped mountains, I stand corrected.

Actually, now that I think about it, most of my favorite music in games tend to come from forests...particularly mysterious forests. The Macalania Woods theme from FFX, the Eruyt village theme from FFXII, Mystic Cave Zone from Sonic 2, the forest temple and Saria's theme from Ocarina of Time, etc. I also enjoy the music that tends to pop up in important and mysterious cities, and music that pops up in temples.

Actually, if you ever get the OST of CT. There are a few deleted tracks. One of which sounds like it might have originally been the overworld theme for the snowy continent titles (Singing Mountain YouTube - Singing Mountain: Chrono Trigger Music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94F6pNTS7Nw)). It is also an incredibly beautiful track and it surprises me it was removed from the game.
