I never thought I'd get sick of computers... but I'm sick of computers.

At work, I'm on the computer about 7 hours, scanning for minor errors on iced tea order sheet. So my eyes are so tired by the end of the day that I never want to be on a computer again, except that I miss chatting my bests up.

Do you get sick of computers easily? :kaodizzy:

I spend so much time on the computer, I think I'd be more worried if I was without it.

It's pretty much how I spend my days when I'm not working/busy - chatting/EoFF/facebook/researching stuff I'm interested in/Livejournal. I even chat to my mum downstairs via Facebook. xD

The computer is the reason my eyesight got bad, I think - because I used to have 20/20 vision until I started using the computer for long periods of time.

I used to work 8am-6pm sometimes (but mostly 9am-6pm), in an office on a computer 5 days a week, and then a half day on a saturday - and then I came home and went on my own computer, and yeah, it is tiring! so I guess I know how you feel! :jess:

Nah, I wish I could spend more time on the computer with my family always using it. We all share one so I'm usually doing something else all day especially since my brother uses it for his music and stuff. But if I worked all day on the computer I guess I would get tired of it too.:)

I spend most of my time looking at some kinda screen, so no big deal.

A little, but I need to upgrade my computer so I can actually play games on here besides Starcraft.

Nah. I worked as an intern at a cabinet company making a database of hazardous chemicals and materials and that took me a long time. At least they were nice and let me play around on the internet when I was done for the day. I did a lot of posting here on EoFF when I was there. :p

When I'm working I do. But if I'm just surfing the net or talking in irc, I don't.

Well, I get sick of the computer every now and again and if I do I try and find something else to occupy myself with. However I always come crawling back to the comp and the net. I'm like an addict who realizes they're addicted but doesn't have a problem being the willing slave of something is rewarding at times. In terms of my comp it keeps me in touch with my friends and family, in other situations being a voluntary slave can have it's own benefits ;)

Without the computer (computer? or internet?) I would just read books. But it's almost impossible to be without a computer. The only time I'm literally unable to use a computer is when my pc breaks, and I don't have a spare.

I have a (2 actually -- one for work) laptop as a backup pc. I pretty much can't go without a computer unless it were a blackout for more than 4 hours =)

Yeah, totally. I program computers for a living, so I get frustrated with them sometimes. When I'm using it for leisure I don't really get bored. :p

Sometimes at home I get sick of sitting in my computer chair and go lay on the couch for awhile, but I don't ever recall getting sick of the computer itself.

I don't get sick of them, but sometimes I outright hate the damn machine. Most of the time that hatred is probably caused by the OS it's running. But ever since I stopped doing computer related work it's not happening that often anymore :p

When I'm online and there's no one to talk to, yeah I do.

But if there's some friends on, I end up spending 5+ hours and not getting bored. :/

I'm not sick of computers at all :P I do get tired sometimes though.

If your eyes get tired, you might want to look into getting some reading glasses. After years and years of working on a computer all day, then going home and spending another few hours on a computer and wondering why I was constantly popping painkillers for headaches, I got my first pair of reading glasses a few months ago. My headaches are now stress-related rather than induced by eyestrain, so that's a victory for me. I'm only supposed to use them for work on the computer/reading/playing handhelds, but I've started wearing them around everywhere if I know I'm going to use them. Kind of a pain to keep taking them off and putting them into the case.

But yeah, if you can afford it you should get your eyes checked and see what the optometrist recommends. My 'vision' according to the test is actually 20/10 (which is 'better than normal'), but when I got hooked up to this machine it was discovered that I have Astigmatism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astigmatism_(eye)). The Astigmatism is what was causing the eyestrain (and thus the tiredness/headaches), since my eyes were working overtime to focus on the screen. So while your vision may be perfectly normal, if you do have Astigmatism it probably would make your eyes tired faster if you do intensive eye-work for a long time.
