so, your house is on fire. All of your family and pets are out safe. You have enough time to save 1 item. One item only.

What is it?

I would save a box. Inside it has; Photos, tickets (bus, trains, plays, concerts, football matches, cinema etc), letters, pictures, old birthday cards and such. Memories. <3

I contemplated saving my laptop, or my mobile phone. but, I can always get peoples numbers again, and buy a new laptop (pretty much all my photos on my laptop are stored on facebook/elsewhere on the internet anyway). so yeah.

Probably the first expensive thing I can get my hands on. I can't think of anything sentimental I own that is worth risking my life for. ><

I don't actually know. I've got a couple of things that have sentimental value that I'd like to save. A collection of coins that belonged to my grandfather, for instance or a book that a lot of my school friends signed when I left school. I think if this actually happened I'd be torn between those two things and others. Some school stuff or some of my books that I'd hate to part with. It's a horrid thought to lose all my material possessions, especially when I think about how long I've lived in this room and how some stuff has been here for what feels like forever and I can't imagine living in the same room without them.

Actually, screw it. GameCube it is.

I dunno I don't really have anything of great sentimental value in the house. So I guess I would take my sword. I figure if you're going to have to stand there and watch your house burn down you may as well look as much like Toshirō Mifune as you can.

Can I take my bookcase? No probably not, I'm grabbing my memory cards. I'll let insurence rebuy my games, but they can't rebuy my hours.

Good one Joy. I would save my clothes. Computers, hard drives, etc can be replaced and restored quickly.

Probably something outside my room, since my room is made of concrete, and is on the bottom floor. I should be able to get everything from that room later on.

So, I guess that means I'd save my tooth brush! Or, something of my family's, like the picture on my Mom's wall. We've had it for so long, and to not have it in the next house would feel odd.

Only if you run around your house naked! I imagine you'd be wearing some... ...right? :aimkiss:

Jess

well, if the house caught fire during the night when I was sleeping (which is how I always imagined it doing so), then I'd only be wearing my underwear! :aimkiss:

I have a photo of all my friends for a high school dance, I'd get that.

Tough one =[

I'd most likely save my big envelope that has all the cards and letters and stuff Alan has sent me.

Everything I own is expendable. Except for the clothes on my back and my wallet I wouldn't bother with anything.

Only one? I don't know! My phone would be in my pocket so that doesn't count (same with my wallet) so it'd be a choice between my ps2, gamecube or DS, and since I wouldn't be able to carry all my games with them they're out. So I'd probably save my yearbooks and the pictures of my friends that are pinned to my bedroom wall. Consoles and such can be replaced but memories can't be.

The two turtles and two goldfish count as one thing.

OR

My PC. It's got pretty much all my pictures on it; any hardcopies I have are stored at my mother's.

Anyone got a lighter? Danielle and I can be there in roughly 2-3 weeks.

EDIT: Oh, right, the topic. Uhm. My PC, probably. Toys, knives and whatnot are replaceable. I can't be absolutely certain I'll recover everything on my hard drive and there is far too much sentimental value over such a variety of things on that bugger that I would save more memories from that than anything else. Other things I considered include my book of letters from my cousin, photo albums (pointless as I have all photos scanned to my PC anyway) and a box containing my birth certificate etc.

I can't think of anything, I think the most expensive thing is my bigscreen TV in the living room. It's close enough to the door that with enough people we could save it and sell it at maximum price on eBay, move to a South American forest and start anew.

This happened to me. Once I got everyone out (except my sister's poor puppy who ran upstairs and hid in the smoke) and after the fire department had been called. I tried to break back into my house. What was I going after? My computer tower -_-'
