Count me in!

Champions league spot or bust this year.

Take care all.

Heath

Soft Mint City have been relegated to the Blue Square North due to irregular finances. In true Peter Ridsdale fashion, I've instead taken over Wiccan Athletic AFC. Now, where to take out some high risk loans...

Psychotic

I'll join, but it'll probably be in August! I just like to pick my team as soon as I sign up and I don't really want to be picking a team just yet when all the transfers haven't been sorted out yet. Yeah I can change it and stuff but I'm lazy. :D

Old Manus
07-20-2008, 11:43 PM
I'll probably do this

Cz
07-21-2008, 04:43 PM
I've got a team, but haven't picked my squad yet. I'll definitely be signing up for this again.

Heath
08-02-2008, 06:50 PM
Oh man, Robbie Keane joined Liverpool. Might have to rethink that one. I still haven't forgiven them for a) being Liverpool b) having erratic squad choices whenever I had any player of theirs - bar Reina - in my squad last season.

Burtsplurt
08-03-2008, 10:28 AM
I'm in. I don't have a clue how to change my team name, so I'm still Fairfield Rovers.

Anyone going to reveal their team? Mine, once again, has a definite Middlesbrough bias, which always proves to be a huge hindrance.

Cz
08-03-2008, 11:36 AM
I've fulfilled my Arsenal quota, partly because I like our fixture list early on and partly because we're great. I'm not entirely happy with my team, and it'll probably change again before opening day.

The Captain
08-03-2008, 11:30 PM
The only four Liverpool players I'd really trust to be on my team are Torres, Gerrard, Jamie and Reina.

Take care all.

Heath
08-05-2008, 01:28 PM
Mine's liable to change and - surprisingly - no real Everton bias.

Main squad:

GK - Howard (Everton)
DF - Lescott (Everton)
DF - Evra (Man United)
DF - Clichy (Arsenal)
MF - Fabregas (Arsenal)
MF - Petrov (Man City)
MF - Valencia (Wigan)
MF - Young (Aston Villa)
FW - Carew (Aston Villa)
FW - Santa Cruz (Blackburn)
FW - Berbatov (Spurs)

Subs -

GK - Schwarzer (Fulham)
DF - McShane (Sunderland)
DF - Hamann (Man City)
MF - Kilbane (Wigan)

Needless to say, I'm not hoping to use my subs. I'm also extremely likely to completely change that squad between now and the beginning of the season.

Burtsplurt
08-05-2008, 09:51 PM
This is mine, although I'm really tempted to get rid of Nasri (he looks good, but a bit lightweight at the moment?).

GK - Friedel (Aston Villa)
DF - Richards (Man City)
DF - Skrtel (Liverpool)
DF - Taylor (Middlesbrough)
DF - Woodgate (Tottenham - traitor)
MF - Nasri (Arsenal)
MF - Modric (Tottenham)
MF - Bentley (Tottenham)
MF - Deco (Chelsea)
FW - Alves (Middlesbrough)
FW - Torres (Liverpool)

Subs:

GK - Harper (Newcastle)
DF - Huth (Middlesbrough)
MF - Greening (West Brom)
FW - Heskey (Wigan)

Loony BoB
08-06-2008, 12:16 AM
GK: Schwarzer (Fulham)
DF: Ferdinand (Man United)
DF: Vidic (Man United)
DF: Laursen (Villa)
MF: Fabregas (Arsenal)
MF: Nolan (Bolton)
MF: Bentley (Spurs)
MF: Sidwell (Villa)
MF: Carrick (Man United)
FW: Berbatov (Spurs)
FW: Santa Cruz (Spurs)
---
GK: James (Pompy)
DF: Collins (Sunderland)
DF: Dawson (Hull)
FW: Kitson (Stoke)

James is my first choice, but Fulham face Hull first up and Schwarzer hasn't let me down when he's up against weaker opposition. Although Fulham are still a crappy side regardless... we'll see how things turn out with that gamble.

Still much to change, probably.

Psychotic

Finally joined.

My heroes:

GK: Reina (Liverpool)
GK: Schwarzer (Fulham)
DF: Lescott (Everton)
DF: Johnson (Portsmouth)
DF: Arbeloa (Liverpool)
DF: Corluka (Man City)
DF: Boyce (Wigan)
MF: Elano (Man City)
MF: Petrov (Man City)
MF: Murphy (Fulham)
MF: Kranjcar (Portsmouth)
MF: Young (Aston Villa)
FW: Torres (Liverpool)
FW: Ashton (West Ham)
FW: Diouf (Sunderland)

Cz
08-06-2008, 08:38 PM
Since everyone else is doing it:

GK) Almunia
GK) Kirkland
DF) Evra
DF) Carvalho
DF) Woodgate
DF) Garrido
DF) Cahill
MF) Fabregas
MF) Young
MF) Bullard
MF) Ireland
MF) Reo-Coker
FW) Adebayor
FW) Crouch
FW) Alves

Go team Eeeeeeeeeeee!

The Captain
08-14-2008, 02:54 AM
Had to juggle my team a bit since Cesc looks to be out a few weeks:

Starting:

G: Schwartzer (Against Hull) but otherwise I'm rolling with Howard
D: Shorey
D: Woodgate
D: Scharner
M: Gerrard
M: A. Young
M: Downing
M: Modric
F: Torres
F: Defoe
F: Walcott (Who I expect to play a lot until Fabregas returns)

Bench:

D: McShane
D: Meite
M: Hamann

My squad will change a bit when my first choice players are all fully healthy, but I'm ready for this season to start!

Take care all.

Heath
08-15-2008, 09:06 PM
I did change my squad. Once since I posted in this thread and then a new one that I've got at the moment. This one is a bit of a mix between the other two:

GK - Howard (Everton)
DF - Ferdinand (Man United)
DF - Shorey (Aston Villa)
DF - Gallas (Arsenal)
MF - Gerrard (Liverpool)
MF - Petrov (Man City)
MF - Valencia (Wigan)
MF - Elano (Man City)
MF - Kranjcar (Portsmouth)
FW - Santa Cruz (Blackburn)
FW - Berbatov (Spurs)

Subs -

GK - Schwarzer (Fulham)
DF - McShane (Sunderland)
DF - Meite (West Brom)
FW - Harewood (Aston Villa)

Arteta <3

Did you see the goal? I loved it.

I did not love Berbatov not playing.

Loony BoB
08-16-2008, 05:31 PM
Sadly not, didn't see a goal all day. :(

So far I've got good results from Arteta, Yakubu and Santa Cruz. Not so good from Bentley or Berbatov - although the latter gives me hopes that he'll be moving to United shortly which can only be good for me. Not sure how I'll adjust my team should he manage to get to OT but I'm sure I'll find a way. Crap show from Schwarzer, too. Will be interesting to see if Carrick, Rio and Vidic can do me good against Newcastle and I'm hoping Sidwell plays well alongside Laursen against City tomorrow, too. That'll keep me happy.

Heath
08-16-2008, 05:48 PM
I bought Berbatov assuming he would be going to United. I'm annoyed that I was tempted to take Ashton out of my squad after all. Looks like you had a good day from Everton-Blackburn. Makes one of us!

Rocket Edge
08-16-2008, 08:59 PM
Without Ashton, this would have been a pretty dismal gameweek. I have a few players to start still, but i'm excited about how Joe Cole will do against pompey.

Cz
08-16-2008, 09:59 PM
Bad start for me, but none of my midfielders played today so I might be able to turn things around. So happy to have football back. :D

Loony BoB
08-23-2008, 04:38 PM
For the second week in a row my team's poor showing is improved by Arteta and Yakubu. Agbonlahor? Santa Cruz? Bentley? Laursen? Who?

EDIT: Ahaha, Laursen, your conceding of two goals is forgiven.

Heath
08-23-2008, 04:55 PM
I need to have more faith in Everton players. Why on Earth I didn't go with Yakubu when he's Everton's only real goalscoring threat the moment I've no idea.

Loony BoB
08-23-2008, 05:00 PM
Arteta is always good at the start of the season, too. If Cahill was around I'd probably have him as my third Evertonian - those chaps haven't failed me much in the past (although Arteta sucked as the season went on, but that's easily fixed by a transfer).

Heath
08-23-2008, 05:19 PM
Arteta had a terrible season by his standards last season, so I wouldn't worry too much for this campaign. If we lost him in our current state, I'd be in tears.

Old Manus

Havent commented yet but ... well... I'm top... there you go I just jinxed myself. Usually I try and get as many top players in my team as possible but this season I went for performers. Also goal scoring defenders (which hasnt payed off yet) Deco was a bargain but if anyone is thinking of bringing in a mid player Arteta is looking good. Thats my tip... Arteta.... If we are gonna get the EoFF league to no1 (be honest thats a better accolade than finishing top of the EoFF league) then we need to give each other tips on players who are scoring well. So I'll venture forward first. Deco and Arteta as mentioned have done me wonders but my tip is Roberts for Blackburn. not an amazing amount of points but if he scores 6 every game that will amount to a lot and 6 is the least he will score. So cmon EoFF get us to N01.:mog::mog::mog:

I'm doing terribly in part thanks to Elano and Petrov not playing. Elano's my captain. Oh dear, oh dear.

Cahill? What the hell! So far this whole thing has been so frustrating. I don't know where to begin.

Loony BoB
09-29-2008, 01:22 PM
Silly me keeping in Berbatov as captain when I knew Ronaldo was back. I've learned from my mistakes now - Ronaldo comes in, regardless of the cost.

I've used my wildcard this week so there are a fair amount of changes. Cahill is out, as is Yakubu. Ronaldo in, Carew in. Berbatov out. Changed my two backup defenders for some blokes from Wigan and West Brom. Midfield looks very tidy, though, with Ronaldo/Denilson/Ireland/Arteta/Wright-Philips. I think Bent of Spurs is now my third striker, although I might have changed that to Mido. I forget which I stuck with. Either way if it's Bent it's a gamble, but I can't see many other players in Spurs getting a goal and surely they must come good someday.

The Captain

I think with Ashley Young, Ronaldo, Gerrard, Denilson, Torres and Zaki I should get a fair amount of goals each week.

Take care all.

I pity the people who do not have Ronaldo in their team this gameweek.
With him as captain, I have 80 points so far this weekend with Ireland/Geovanni/Zayette yet to play. :D I am happy. Would be even better if Evra and Delap didn't both get carded.

EDIT: Zayatte may not be doing well but for the 1 point he's lost for 2 goals conceded and 4 points he's lost for no clean sheet... 11 points for Ireland (so far) will make up for it.

Rocket Edge

Top three finish, a Champions League spot! Hopefully I can close the gap for next season. I checked my team every week, but some injuries kept my team from winning, plus shrewd moves by you guys.

All in all, a lot of fun! Looking forward to doing it all over again in a few months.

Take care all.
