I thought it couldn't get any worse than 7th Heaven (same creators) but wow. It's like... it's like something a group of high school freshman started doing in their spare time to help educate their peers on how to act like a douche, and then they acted it... as high school freshman are wont to do.

Oh my god, YYYYYY. I watched the premiere a few weeks ago. It looked interested, so I decided to watch. I've never seen such... propaganda. I've never watched a show with the phrase "PRAY WITH ME" uttered so often, in earnest.
Basically, the only things I've got out of that episode:
1) Don't ever have sex, it's terrible.
2) Don't ever kiss the High School tramp, ever, or your girlfriend's brother with Down's Syndrome will make sirens noises at you.
3) Any teen who has sex multiple times before marriage has been sexually abused.
4) If all else fails, scream "PRAY WITH ME!!!!"
I... I couldn't even watch the show for lulz very often. It was too painful.

This show sounds incredible. It sounds like something that should be required viewing for every child on Earth. :) It sounds like it teachers proper morality in a way which identifies with issues of modern youth, and treats them with respect. I can't wait until I get the chance to watch!

I love these shows. The girl that finds out she is HIV positive is my favourite.
Apparently all women that have sex as teenagers end up HIV positive or pregnant, especially if they are in high school and have "everything going for them" ;)

I was about to ask what channel this was on. It doesn't really sound like the kind of thing that'd make it to mainstream TV. I might check out an episode just to see how bad it is.
Also on the forum index I really thought this was going to be a thread on The Secret World of Alex Mack. You guys suck.

About 5% who are too stupid to make their own decisions so they just act out stuff from the Disney channel with all the drama and fake-love.

If the world was the way described in this show I think I'd go on a rampage killing spree whoever writes this trash & whoever watches this trash needs to:
1. Go have sex & find out you can't get HIV from sex with everyone. Wear a condom too. At least have a wank you never know you might enjoy it:eek:
2. Go have a beer & smoke some weed & see that one beer or one joint wont destroy your life, make you a drug addict or any of that other crap the Jesus freaks tend to talk about
3. And lastly & most importantly go out & live experience the world & learn that even though bad stuff happens life eventually throws something good your way. This can be started by turning off that damn tv program!

'a teenager taking a pregancy test before the opening credits? wth this cant possibly go downhill anymore ' I said, but with a distant rumble of thunder fate acknowledged the challenge in my words and it not only went downhill, but through the floorboards and beyond and just kept going and going.

It was -ok- until it got past the opening credits to the slow motion entrance of a blonde and a jock and people were staring at them walk into the room. Then i gave it a few minutes to redeem itself but it didnt.

As a rule, anything on any channel owned by Disney should be avoided at all costs. The title didn't really make me think this was an exception.

The index page of the forums cuts off a majority of thread titles due to their length. I thought that this was going to be a thread about The Secret World of Alex Mack, which, as a children's television show, is undoubtedly better than The Secret Life of the American Teenager, in my opinion.

I've seen 2 episodes, and yeah, that's stuff's not likely to happen in High School (especially as a freshman). It's completely pwned by Degrassi and most of the stuff on The-N. Yes, I said it.

I have no idea why you guys are surprised at this show. Though this show seems to exaggerate HS drama more than other shows that deals with HS drama, it should be known (and therefore no surprise) that ALL TV drama takes slightly plausible situations and treats them like they could happen twelve times a day.

You don't understand. The head cheerleader (who quit cheer after she had sex with her boyfriend and then her dad died in a plane crash because of it) got kicked out of the Christian Abstinence Club or whatever for going around school telling all of the girls they should masturbate. However, in spite of her wanting to the a doctor, she says the word "masturbate" is icky so she says stuff like "Did you Just Say ME this weekend? LOL I could do it every day!!" with her cheery blond overacting. And it's amazing.
And there was a whole musical sequence of the teenage girls lying in their beds thinking about whether or not they wanted to Just Say ME. And it was amazing.

I have to admit, it sounds funny. I get the humor from watching this show. It's like how some of my friends rent a bad movie on purpose for the lulz.
However, it's the fact that I know there are views that take this 110% seriously that prevents me from watching this (or any other show like this). I'm not going to give those writers the satisfaction. It should be noted that I am intoxicated right now, so I may be more stubborn than usual.

Out of a massive need to find something to procrastinate with, I watched the "Just Say Me" episode and became even more shocked that there are people who actually watch this every week. The guys are almost as bad as the obnoxious teenage girls, in that they are ALL an exact stereotype. The only possible exception is the little brown kid, who I didn't see much from because he was too busy boning the one chick that would still have sex.
The father freaking out about hearing his girls are masturbating was amusing. So was the girl getting kicked out of her church's teen abstinence group for publicly encouraging masturbating. Otherwise, it was more "wow, this is awful" than amusing, so I won't be watching any further.

So, season finale, omggg! Cliffhanger!
I am so sick of the parents, Ann and George. I love George but the whole "omg they're divorced they're having a baby let's date let's not let's marry let's not" is annoying. Ann is a cow.
For those who read this thread for the ridiculouness: all the teenagers are deciding it's time to boff basically. The ex-boyfriend of the teenage mother still loves her but when he goes to see her she's all too busy to see him or something lame so the girlfriend of the teenage father decides she's going to get back at the teenage parents for kissing recently by de-virginizing the ex-boyfriend but the condom broke so, dun dun dun, season ends with a pregnancy test in her hands.
She said she'll just abort it though so I don't know why she's gotta be so up-in-arms about it.
