Right, I was watching Pokémon.....several years ago :shifty: before work, and I thought "Do the people eat the Pokémon?".

Discuss, and enlighten me.

Of course they do. Pokemon are sweet, like fruit, yet meat. It's like a dessert steak. :chef:

According to a book in the Canalave City library in Diamond & Pearl, some guy got hold of a sword and went round killing and eating pokemon. It's only a legend, but some pokemon probably are edible. Roast Piloswine anyone? :monster:

Yes a man did go around hunting and eating the Pokémon but then the Pokémon dissapeared. He wondered where they were and when he found them he asked why they dissapeared. They told him they were hiding from him so from that day he swore an oath to never eat Pokémon again. Something like that. :)

I think they should eat Pokémon. Otherwise all they eat is fruit and vegetables. And that sucks. Roast pidgey, yes.

Pidgeot eat Magikarp when they skim the water surfaces. Golbat is described as sucking blood at high rates. Farfetch'd can be eaten by people with the leek; it apparently tastes great, which is the cause for the Pokemon's endangerment. I think it depends on the Pokemon and totally possible.

You know, when I played Pokémon as a kid, I always wondered what Farfetch'd would taste like. It's also what I was thinking about when I came into this thread.

I'm sure one could eat Cherubi and Cherrim. Tropius produces fruit, so one could eat that. Torchic/Combusken/Blaziken are all chicken Pokémon, so they would taste good, maybe spicy since they're fire types. Oh, and I'll throw Pikachu in here just to make PG cry. Pikachu would taste good.

But Pikachu is a mouse PokeMon. You eat mice?

I wonder what Miltank would taste like, milk or beef? I'd stuff Meowth in a chinese steamed bun and eat it.

No, I just said Pikachu to make PG sad.

I used to be able to name the first 151 Pokémon in order. Now that there are like 493, I don't remember the order, but if you show me a picture of it I guarantee I'll know its name.

Actually, Jigglypuff's name in Japanese is プリン (Purin) -- which means pudding or custard.

Jigglypuff would be pudding.

Me and Daniel used to play Pokémon Pearl all the time. It's quite sad I remember the stories after like a year from playing it. :p I had the Chimchar Pokémon called Destiny. :)

Venusaur salad, anyone?
Blastoise soup?

You see them eat meat, yet you don't see any wild animals besides Pokemans o.o

People with pokemon with them probably don't eat in front of them, though :\

Have you people ever read up on the actual size of pokemon? Venusaur is 6'7". That would make for one hell of a christmas dinner.

Hard telling, actually. Instead of being practically weightless like Gastly and Haunter, Gengar weighs 89.3lbs. That's a hell of a lot of vapor for something that's 4'11". :p

You guys are freaks. I don't think they eat Pokemon.

You'd be wrong. One specific example is Farfetch'd. Farfetch'd are not found in the wild in the original game, implying that their existence is rare. Pokemon Yellow's description reinforces this belief, while in this excerpt, a description of Farfetch'd follows the clues to the natural conclusion: Farfetch'd can be eaten. It might be a distasteful practice, but apparently, Farfetch'd is something of a delicacy.

The use of the stick as its self-defense has achieved an ironic fate for the majority of the Farfetch’d species, for Farfetch’d has been consistently poached as game where it would be then served up as a meal edible by humans, with its onion stick as a side serving as perfect garnish. The resulting rarity of the Pokémon has caused an effort to breed the Pokémon in captivity so as to prevent its extinction.

There are extinct Pokemon, too.

Additionally, there is an episode in which the Team Rocket group attempts to eat the Farfetch'd. Bulbapedia says that it is episode 145 of the original series. In the episode Pokemon Shipwreck, episode 16, they contemplate eating Magikarp, if only it weren't scales, bones, and evolves into a giant blue dragon that gets a bunch of its friends ans tries to kill the group; since this even occurs in the first season of Pokemon, it should be the only canon that one is to consider anime-wise, and they specifically say they'll eat Magikarp.

I'd like my Tauros medium rare with some Seaking filet on the side. Maybe you could grill some Shroomish and dabble it on with reckless abandon.

It's the dirty secret of the Pokemon world that once Pokemon get too old to battle, they just end up on the dinner table the next day.
