I've heard that exploding Shiney Gravelar story alot. So much that I wonder if the creators made the shiney Gravelar more common just to miss with people.

Getting one of Monad weapons in first Persona 3, just to turn around and wallk into a shadow and die.

Most recent "BAH!" moment was playing Etrian Odyssey II, having an awesome run in the labyrinth. Everyone had gained a full level, had tons of crap to sell, but didn't have a Warp Wire. So I'm heading back to town when I get in a fight, can't run, and and FOE shows up and wipes out my entire party.

YOU MEAN YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED HALO!?

Not yet, give me it, give me everything you own! I don't play first person shooters, the only ones I've played a bit of are Wolfenstein 3d, Goldeneye 007, and Bioshock. I didnt' play them because I got a bad headache from the graphics, plus didn't get into them. Now I don't have as much headache, why is that, better graphics? Now Mass Effect and Fallout 3 and Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus are mixing some shooting with rpg's, I love the results so far!

Bioshock was great!~ The story, characters, graphics, music, that is. I didn't prefer the overall "battle system" of first person shooters.

Can they make a Bioshock rpg? For some reason Bioshock reminds me of Fallout 3.

Which is better...
Bioshock
Halo 3
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Crysis
Unreal Tournament 3

:choc2:?!

It also depends on what you're after and what you mean by 'better'. For example, I think Crysis is untold amounts better than Halo 3, but I don't play Crysis nearly as much as Halo 3 because none of my friends play Crysis and not enough people play it online in general. Having said that, I don't play much of Halo 3 these days either.

A couple of my most unfortunate video game moments come from hardware issues.

I had a fresh copy of Xenogears and I'm not sure if I had beat it yet at the time. Somehow, someway, the first disc of Xengears had a pretty large smudge/scratch on the back of it. I remember trying to put the disc in one day. The game would load and go to the Load/Continue and New Game screen. When I would click to load a new game it would just freeze on me every time.

Getting an actual hard copy of Xenogears was hard enough (before it went greatest hits) so I went out to EB Games and somehow bought their last copy of Xenogears for another whopping 50 bucks.

Here's another similar story. I had an original PSX copy (not greatest hits) of FF7. I've replayed this game so many times. The first disc of it get stepped on and it cracked in half. I wound up borrowing another copy of the game from my brother's friend and subsequently never gave it back. Unfortunately, my brother recently sold the only copy of the game we had left so he could have money for drugs and to gamble.

I can remember countless times being in a boss battle or at a place where I hadn't saved at the power went out or someone walking by tripped over a wire. Those times suck.

Of course it isn't~, people who are clearly better than they seem to be make new accounts just to play against low-ranked people and win and rub it in their faces is just so fair.

Pricks are pricks wherever they are. Just because there are a few failures on Halo that want to play against nubs doesn't make the system broken. That will happen on any game with a ranking system like that. Halo is NOTHING compared to Gunbound in those regards, for instance.

anyway, the solution is to get better or die. You would have to fight those people sooner or later anyway. So learn to kill them or give up and go home. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/sickhappy/wacky.gif

DK

Rank 30 recruits are people who have been busted by Bungie for cheating and have had all their exp removed. And exp has no bearing on who gets matched up with who anyway, it only works off the trueskill rank. It just means they can't get their http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifty little General rank that they care so much about.

And yeah we encounter them fairly often seeing as we often play with people who are low ranked themselves like Jess and Shiny. Either way, it still doesn't matter. Everyone is good when you get higher up in the rankings. You'll either continue to improve to a point where you are able to beat them or you won't. It took me bloody ages to not be shiet at this game. It's only been the last couple of months where I've been able to properly hold my own. So you can either give up or keep going. Personally trolling the failures who have to make second accounts to be able to play well is easily worth the effort it took to get to this stage. There is nothing more satisfying in Halo.

I seriously want an Xbox 360 sometime soon. I would play Halo just to get my anger out. Isn't that what everyone does anyways? :p But seriously I used to watch my cousins play halo 2 all the time and it made me want to play eventually. Not to mention I'm totally friggin stoked for Fable 2 and Oblivion for the 360.

Anyways, frustrating game moments include playing FFIX for 2 hours straight trying to beat the final boss but failing miserably because I was too lazy to buff up my characters. Also in FFT the freaking scene with Ramza's brother. That http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif is SO HARD. Accidently put bomb rage on Gau, he exploded himself.
Sabin and Edgar got confused, Edgar killed Sabin with Chainsaw and Sabin killed Cyan while Cyan was beserked. Worst battle EVER.

Other than that it's stupid things like the internet disconnecting. I think I've been d/c'd about 5 times on WoW and when I log back on, I discover I'm dead. What's worse, is a monster didn't kill me, some guy came by and got me when I couldn't do anything. :rolleyes2

It is easy to get sprees in warthogs man. Just look:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/sickhappy/28386426-Full.jpg

You just need to try harder GB. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/sickhappy/valid-1.gif

Then again it's getting easy to get them on foot as well so it'll happen soon enough.

Also the worst thing that ever happened to me in Computer games was some bastard horrible level of hatred in the Crazy Taxi missons that me and J were doing one day. Some horrible track on a tiny road that was all zigzagged and shaped at horrible angles that you had to be a total master to turn on properly and get to the end in the time limit without falling into the sea. It had taken us until like 6 in the morning and I was getting closer and closer and then finally I did it, I reached the end, slammed the breaks on and threw my arms in the air in triumph, saw the win message pop up only to see the car slowly, slowly, PAINFULLY smurfING SLOWLY tipping off the edge of the track. And then it fell in. And we had to do it again. I was a broken man and James laughed for about half an hour which only made it worse and he still makes fun of me about it today. It didn't help that directly after that I got to the finish again and fell in again. Mother%^*(&%Ł^@ level of hate :(

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne... I seriously don't believe I have to go any farther than that in explanation.

Getting to the very end of FFTA, having only 2 missions left for completion and finding out I can't get the item necessary to qualify for said missions cause their are only three times you can get it and they are all one time missions; which means I most likely threw it away when I was cleaning out my quest item inventory...

Getting close to beating the uber boss version of I-No in GGXX story mode with Dizzy. Knocked her down to an inch of life and had her spam two supers. One used to make her invincible when I hit her with Dizzy's super attack and the second one killed me despite having half health... Made more frustrating cause I only have one shot at the fight cause I get a different ending depending on whether I win or lose...

:choc2:!!!

How does this timeline (while rather impressive, yet oddly obsessive) have anything to do with the subject in this thread?

Oh my smurfing god. I was playing Pokemon, and a SHINY smurfING GRAVELER APPEARED. Sounds awesome right? What if I say it used Explosion on its first turn? :weep: I'm really pissed off right now. Really, pissed, off.
I usually save my Masterball for Shiny Pokemon like that where False Swiping and Sporing a Pokemon isn't a solid enough strategy.

Anyways, losing my 100% file in Yoshi's Island comes to mind.

I always save my Masterball for the rare Pokémon that always run away. Shiny Pokémon are easily caught once you trap them with Mean Look and then status effect them, it's just a matter of finding them.

And yeah, I can sympathize with the Yoshi's Island deal. I had 100% in that game...and then lost it. It's still missing to this day.

Years ago, GoldenEye, Aztec, 00 Agent level. I'd just managed to upload the Launch Protocol Data and was running across to the ladder to open the exhaust bay and finish the level. As I ran past I got shot by a guy standing in the ventilation system and died. It was a one in a million chance that he could have hit me anyway, but it happened.

*sigh*

Oh and last night, got up to Cloud of Darkness in FF3 DS and, after owning every single miniboss on the way up without breaking a sweat, he owned me in about two turns.

Also, 194 lightning bolts in FFX. Went back a few days later and did 250 just to be sure ^^

Losing my level 100 Mewtwo when it went all funny trying to trade it across to the Silver version. Getting the damn Time Machine from Silver and Cable Club from Blue to synchronise, that was bloody hard enough, actually having the trade succeed was even worse! (I realise that level 100 Mewtwos are useless because nobody lets you use them, but he's my favourite so I always raise on anyway on principle.)

I always used to try and make that the first story ending I did (what with the number of times I've owned the game then had to get rid of it for whatever reason, then something happened to my save and so on). It was a real bitch.

Whats the most unfortunate thing thats happen to you in a video game?

Heh, one thing that happened to me: I was playing FF VI and managed to do the Phoenix Cave in the WoR and I got out to the Ariship and had not saved yet. As soon as I start to move the Airship to land somewhere what do you think happened?

Screen shakes...DOOMGAZE (http://www.socksmakepeoplesexy.net/images/ff6/doomgaze.png)!

It killed me and I had to redo quite a bit of the Phoenix Cave.

Getting to the bottom of the Abyss in Wild Arms 3....then fighting the boss down there, using a bunch of Lucky Cards on my party, and not getting XP for it ANYWAY.

...The getting teleoprted to the top and having to fight it AGAIN.

And STILL no XP.

I'm still mad at that game. lol

Losing 200 VR points in Mario kart Wii because some guy in last place uses a blue shell on me.
Whats really annoying about that is the guy in last place will never get any benefit from it, it happens at least twice every race as well.

Getting killed on Diablo 2 because of lag is also incredibly annoying, It always seems to happen someplace where I have no way point as well.

In Xenosaga 2 after defeating one of those Erde Kaiser bosses I didn't save and ran into another creepy optional boss and died. The Erde Kaiser wasn't a difficult fight but it was a pain in the a.

FFXII I lost count of the number of times my game stalled after a bout of levelling.

FFX getting killed by a Marlboro in the Omega Ruins after gaining 80+ Sphere levels and several items required for status effect nulling slots on weapons.

Pandemic 2, and the countless times I've managed to stealthily infect every country with my disease that has no symptoms to begin with... and then freakin' Madagascar closes its borders and shipyards.

This has happened to me maybe twenty times now.

I was playing Shadow Hearts and I was having trouble with a boss fight, it took a few tries, but finally I defeated it and prepared to see a very nice in game movie where Seraphic Radiance destroys Shangai and that's when our cat walks in, steps on the controller that was on the floor and skipped the scene.
Argh.

And recently, while playing Suikoden III, somehow, I neglected to save during the entire 1st chapter of Chris or the game screwed up, I don't know how that could have been possible, but, yes!, having passed it and done my first tactical battle a few times, because I just did not know what the heck was I doing and had to go through a bunch of scenes every time I lost that damn tactical battle, I found that I had to do the entire chapter all over again and of course, the tactical battle again.

Hmm gah moments happen loads to me, like 3 days solid FFVIII without saving apart from the disc swaps and then my playstation crashing due to heat....great!

Halo 3 Legendary Campaign Single Player, the damn arbiter once kicked a crate in to my head killing me on the flood levels in new mombasa. Thankfully it was just after a check point.

MGS2 Sons of Liberty European Extreme difficulty mode, this bears no explaining it's the most infuriating mode available you only need to be seen for a game over.

Mass Effect, I tend to do missions and forget to save so I rush through them and I'll do something ever so slightly stupid like touch lava with one wheel of the mako and die having no choice but to revert to the last auto save file, generally this is planet fall on the mission. :(

I've also had gah moments in Ace Combat (spectacular dog fight to find out I am at 20 feet after pulling out of my dive and to either somehow have someone on my 6 or to get clipped by an AA gun distracting me long enough to slam in to a surface) And many many many more.

Digimon World: Dusk, I just beat the elite Mega Digimon that protect the world from the shadows which in turn unlocked a few new Digimon as random encounters in some old areas. Did some leveling on my Digi-farm and a few Digivolutions and went to check out the new things... I got a lv. 93 Armageddimon who wiped the floor with my best party configuration... so much time wasted.:( I need to learn to save more often...

Umm, you don't get a game over when you lose in that game, you wake up in your base. The only penalty is you lose some friendlyness from your team, but that's easily reobtainable.

I just remembered one. :P

When I was like seven or eight years old, I was playing Duck Tales (the awesome old NES game) and I was doing really well for the first time ever. xP I had almost all of the treasures and I was in Transylvania and I got stuck in a wall. >_> I was very annoyed at that.

Hm, when I came across a saving glitch on LoZ: Twilight Princess I was really pissed. I'd saved and turned it off, came to carry on playing and it restarted me on the other side of the bridge (which had been removed after I'd crossed it) so I had no way to get across and continue. I'd already done one temple and loads of things in Twilight so I was really pissed that it was all for nothing.
