I've been playing a pretty cool game outside of Final Fantasy. It's called Shadow Hearts and as far as I know it has four titles.

Koudelka
Shadow hearts
Shadow Hearts : Covenant
Shadow Hearts New World

I was just wondering if you've played these games. Did you think they were good alright or bad? I've played all of them except for The new world. Its pretty cool so far in the series a guy named Yuri transforms into cool monsters and others use magic to fight.

I haven't played any of the games but the team from Shadowhearts series changed their name, joined up with Mistwalker as one of their teams, and created Lost Odyssey.

Lost Odyssey = Shadow Hearts 5? :)

I played Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant a few years ago.

I really enjoyed Shadow Hearts and I loved its dark nature. I really enjoyed Shadow Hearts: Covenant, too, but it was more forgettable to me aside from some serious moments because of its campy nature.

Yeah I enjoyed them as well. It was a good break from final fantasy for a little while (after 10 came out there was a freeze in releases). From what I heard of The new world yuri isn't in it. So they are starting fress. So far the story goes like this Koudleka arives at to nemeton monastery and meets edward and james. Then the search the whole building and make their way through it. Well Thats about all. Then in shadow hearts you travel as yuri around the world searching for roger bacon. in the middle of the game or closer to the end you meet Koudelka, after you find him. During the game your Gaining AP to level up fusions (monster forms) well thats about all. Then in Covenant you try for the most part to save Yuris life. Now I know nothing about The new world but over all Koudelka and Covenant both had good fmvs while The first shadow hearts only had two scenes. I can't wait to play the new world.:choc2:

I think I'd agree with that. I loved the history involved in the games with things like the sinking of the Lusitania mentioned, for instance. Storyline wise, I think Covenant was more forgettable. Still a great game, but I remember being more impressed with the original. My initial thoughts about SH:C at the beginning of the game was that it was too dungeon orientated. I played up to the Rhondda in my first sitting and just got a bit bored of them then. I did enjoy the bits in Russia and Japan though, I must admit. The bit with Ouka was really sad. Though not quite as sad as the bit with Alice. =/

Great series of games. I love the quirky humour, such as finding that porn magazine in Dehuai's tower to trade with Roger Bacon in the first game. Albert Simon was most excellent.

Never played From The New World because I didn't like the look of it and I was told it was disappointing so I never got around to it. Love SH and SH:C though. Props to it for mentioning Wales and Britain in a computer game.
