I am personally hoping this brings a larger mainstream and more mature (rated) games to the DS.

I don't understand, isn't DS getting a GTA game an Oxymoron?

I got the feeling that the DS and Wii were the family friendly systems and GTA is the most violent game ever, is this true? :choc2:?!

My money's on it being back to the old 2D top down view, and the killing people replaced with having Pokemon card battles instead. Stealing cars will be replaced with politely asking for lifts, and Mario will make a cameo.

There was a GTA game on GBA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_Advance#Critical_Reception), along with GTA1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_(Video_Game)#Ports) and GTA2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_2)being ported to GBC. So it's not really that unexpected.

A 2D game would work but feel dated and no one will probably care. A 3D will just make you wish you were playing it on another console.

Its a no win situation.
